The room was a really good size and spotlessly clean. The bathroom was extremely spacious and again spotlessly clean. The bed was really comfortable. We took our little dog and he was welcomed. He was not allowed in the breakfast area which we understood..The furnishings in the room did not seem corporate, more that we were staying with a friend in a high end house. There is an excellent beer garden establishment opposite which serves delicious meals and drinks. Staff friendly and endlessly helpful in both the hotel and the eating place. We were travelling two women on our own and we felt very comfortable with all aspects of our stay.

If we could have breakfasted separately with our little dog that would have been the icing on the cake but it was not a problem

What a great find! A couple of minutes from the A8, but quiet. It felt very fresh and airy inside, with a good size bedroom and bed. The bathroom was well-lit, and everything was clean - plastic mugs in sealed packets were provided - a small point, but not always the case. The wi-fi was free. Breakfast was a buffet with a good choice of cold meats and cheese, pastries and bread, plus the extra bonus of freshly cooked pancakes (we didn't have them). Small choice of places to eat nearby, we chose the Brauhaus opposite which was virtually on the same site. If pretty views are your idea of a perfect location, you need to know that you will be greatly disappointed, but if you want a one-night stopover while travelling, this place is perfectly located.

The bedroom had only a couple of negative points - the only duvet was not wide enough for two people to use comfortably, and the shower did not contain the water, it was impossible to use without making the floor of the remainder of the small bathroom very wet.

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel and would choose it again for a stop-over. The staff are friendly, the breakfast is good and the hotel is modern and clean.The sofa bed for a 3rd person is a good size. There is ample parking.

The only thing it is missing in the rooms is a fridge. The water pressure in the shower isn’t powerful enough to quickly and thoroughly rince shampoo out of long hair (even using the override) On this occasion, the central air conditioning didn’t appear to be functioning efficiently. We set it to its lowest temperature (about 7C!!) and most powerful fan in order for it to reach and maintain a comfortable sleeping temperature and it just managed it. It certainly didn’t reach the minimum temperature. On our previous stay, just 2.5 weeks earlier, there was no problem with it at all. So, hopefully, it was just a one-off glitch.

Excellent hotel in just the right place for our trip. The staff were friendly and professional, the room was comfortable with a choice of opening window or air conditioning, it was quiet and well situated with a garden, flower baskets and outside seating area. Free parking. Breakfast was excellent. It’s a Holiday Inn Express with the usual branding and format, but certainly one of the best I’ve stayed in, and pretty good value.

Friendly and accommodating staff, good noise insulation, pet friendly.

Only downside is that AC is the room didn't really work for cooling - it wasn't that hot yet outside temperature wise, but the room was very stuffy. I specifically selected the hotel since it advertised AC, but I tried setting AC in multiple models and lowest temperature and it never blew out cold air so it was stuffy inside the room...

Great location near the motorway ( but you can’t hear the traffic) for a stopover. Rooms were very modern and there was a good selection for breakfast. There is a nice brewery restaurant for a bite to eat just across the road. Plenty of free parking.

The soundproofing of the room’s wasn’t great. We could hear our neighbour‘s conversation at night.

A comfortable, clean and quiet modern hotel with all the facilities you need for an overnight stay. Very friendly staff and easily accessible from the motorway. Merzig itself offers plenty of places to eat and is an easy walk from the Hotel. Excellent value money (includes breakfast).

The bed we had was old and somewhat uncomfortable.

Quiet and comfortable room and beds, smooth check-in and check-out, very helpful staff. Brauerei and swimming pool close by, big parking lot in front of the hotel

Breakfast has not much choice, no warm options (except for pancakes and boiled eggs). Showering is very unpleasant. You have to either shower abnormally fast or you'll be staying in your own dirty water because the water is not flowing away.

Very nice hotel. All facilities were good. Very nice room. We enjoyed the classic neutral hotel-room feel after many nights at smaller more individually decorated rooms. Nice bathroom. Evrything was predictable. Nice location close to France and Luxembourg. Good beds and also a very well assorted breakfast. Large parkinglot, and resturants within very short walking distance. It was also easy to go for a walk

Nothing special

Really great stopover location. Easy to access just off the motorway. Very modern, clean and comfortable and we had a double room with an inter connecting door to a twin room for our children. They served a great buffet breakfast, available from 0630, with a choice of cereals, yoghurts, juices, teas and coffees, boiled eggs and pastries, bread, ham and cheese. The staff were helpful and booked a restaurant for us for dinner and gave us free travel toothbrushes because we forgot ours!
