River Lodge 1 was absolutely perfect for our young family. It was modern, clean and tidy inside with a fenced yard for small children and a bath. There was even a high-chair and cutlery for the little people provided. From an adult perspective, the beds and linens were fresh and comfortable and we were very greatful for the air conditioning and complimentary drinks. We loved being able to walk to the coffee shop, the park and the Sandy Point Beach/Campsite where the grandparents were caravaning.
Our front door at home sticks and this one did too, it did make it a little tricky to lock, not sure if much can be done about it. The hot water tap does get very hot, so need to be careful with children. I think sometimes the max temperature on the tank can be adjusted? None of these things would stop us staying again.

great location in the centre of town and close walk to bars and restaurants. The Property was clean and very spacious so great for a family or, like us, colleagues who also need their own space. Huge comfortable beds, easy check in process, no complaints at all
Only 2 small suggestions which were not problems just suggestions - The livingroom needs a few lamps just for some softer light at night and the front blackout blind cord was broken (could still be opened and shut but needed a new cord) They didn't impact our enjoyment of the property at all and shoudl certainly not put you off staying here!

The room was spacious and comfortable, and definitely a grand building.
Given we were the only guests it felt quite strange to be in such a large building and have no one else on site. If I was on my own I would have felt quite uncomfortable. We have stayed in other accommodation in Hay and I don’t feel the extra cost for this was worth it, particularly as there was no communal lounge area except for the outdoor courtyard, and it was too cold to sit out there. As the cafe is not currently operating this is a big drawback too. The day was quite cold and as there was no one on site to put heaters on the room was very cold on arrival - a large room with high ceilings takes some time to heat up. .

We arrived from Adelaide and the house we had booked was not ready for us. The manager quickly organised two rooms (with ensuites) in the Convent for us which were wonderful and very historic. I would highly recommend them to anyone wanting good quality accommodation in Hay.
My daughter and I are coeliac so we always plan accommodation with kitchens. However the local pizza shop does yummy gluten free pizza; so in the end, having a lovely room, and someone else cooking, was an unexpected treat!

Our accommodation was perfect for our little family. Had everything we needed. Close to everything. Private and great parking space, as we travelled with a boat we had plenty of room for our car and boat.
There wasn't really anything that could be improved, except perhaps a little more attention to detail with cleanliness. Dust and spider webs. But that is very minor.

We love the high ceilings and old world charm of the house and rooms. The rooms are clean and spacious with a King size bed.
Hall lights when turned on in the middle of the night come straight through the above door window into the room, especially in the Tysons room, startling us both. We had to get up and turn them off. Perhaps a small curtain that could be closed above the door would stop this?

I’ve stayed here 4 years ago. A lovely old home now a boutique hotel. Each room has a fridge stocked with chilled water and milk , good tea bags and bickies. Lovely pool area offers a cooling refresh plus a nice spot to enjoy the afternoon sun. It’s the little extras that make this place special- pool towels, gowns in the room. Good sized towels. Highly recommend.
Please reopen the cafe. Your bacon and egg rolls were stupendous

Lovely atmosphere inside the Woolshed. Electric blankets were a plus.
Front door sagged and dragged severely on the tiles. Other defects such as the broken shower soap holder and loose hot and cold tap indicators spoilt what otherwise was a lovely unit. There could have also been some dishwashing liquid at the sink so evening plates could be washed and used for breakfast.

Beautiful Oasis half way between Adelaide and Sydney . The room was spacious and clean and cool and well appointed. The grounds well maintained and the pool was very refreshing after a long drive .
The way the rooms are advertised gives the impression of a private pool off each room whereas in fact the pool is shared and is reached down a corridor . No food available on the property as cafe is now closed.

Tom's Place had everything we needed. Three bedrooms with four beds in total, very good TV, good kitchen equipment. Beds were comfortable, excellent hot water and air conditioners. Great value.
Some cosmetic features might concern some guests. The floor boards creak but they are under good carpet. The front door seems swollen, and scrapes the jamb when closing.
