Beautiful location just out of St Helens town centre and very close to Bay of Fires. Jerome made sure we were happy with all aspects of our stay. Great place for bird watching and star gazing from your room. Several walks on the very large property as well as being just a great atmosphere to relax and enjoy the tranquillity. Excellent kitchen, bathrooms etc and very comfy beds. Short drive to several small beachside towns as well as spectacular beaches on Bay of Fires. An easy drive to Derby, pub in the Paddock and Pyengana. A truly wonderful part of the world to enjoy. Probably other stuff we missed. Going back to do it again in a month or so!

We really enjoyed staying here. The room was new and had been designed to take advantage of the location and the pleasing outlook. The views out the window were totally of the surrounding nature. It was beautiful! The room was well appointed and I really liked having a filtered water system and coffee machine. My husband and I particularly enjoyed walking through the grounds and visiting the bird hide around sunset to see the array of birdlife. The place is situated a little out of St Helens, however, it's a short drive into the main centre of town making it a perfect place to stay.

Located in a wetlands reserve and with well-marked walks round the grounds. Birding books and Nikon (!) binoculars provided in our detached chalet which had full disabled access and a view over a small pond via the huge sliding windows, all of which were fly-screened. Spotlessly clean throughout. Very well appointed full kitchen with quality utensils and fittings which were a pleasure to use. The oven was so clean I didn't want to sully it! Fast broadband. Each chalet has its own parking bay right alongside it. Greeted on arrival by friendly staff, and the owner is an even-friendlier character. Highly recommended. Worth a mention is Lease 65, four minutes away and selling the biggest, freshest oysters I have ever eaten, all at portside prices (12 for AU$ 24). Amazing.

There's a/c in the main room but not in the bedrooms. Floor to ceiling window blinds help keep the solar load down (use them) but even with the large sliding windows open to catch a breeze earlier, the bedrooms got a bit sticky overnight, even in late February. I'd suggest a standing fan, but it's really only a very minor 'counsel of perfection'.

We were traveling through AUS for three weeks for the first time, and the Pelican Point Sanctuary was our favorite accommodation on our trip. Honestly, it was one of the most amazing places we’ve ever stayed. The location is amazing- minutes away from St. Helens which has grocery stores, coffee shops, and restaurants, as well as The Bay of Fires and lots of stunning beaches along the way. And the accommodation itself was breathtaking. We loved walking around the grounds and taking in the stunning views. The bed was comfortable, we loved the full kitchen and black-out curtains, and appreciated the on-site amenities of the grill and laundry. Truly can’t recommend enough.

Of all the places we stayed in Tassie this was by far the best! We stayed in Blue Wren which had 180 degrees of view and most of this was floor to ceiling. If you like bird watching this is the great place to stay as it has a hide which looks into the estuary, if not sit back and enjoy the view as the bird life will come to you!!! Alternatively wander/cycle along the newly built walkway into town which is also worth a visit. The facilities were luxurious and had a real wow factor about them. When we're back that way I'll certainly be staying here again.

I originally booked the cottage but we were upgraded to Sandpiper 5. This 2 bedroom apartment is so nice. Great views from the front and back. Glass windows the length of the longer and kitchen areas view an extensive view across to the water. There are heaps of different birds and there are a pair of binoculars and a number of bird books to help identifying the birds. Lots of rabbits in the morning. The kitchen was well stocked for tea/coffee and Jerome supplied 300mls of fresh milk. Bed was comfortable and shower very good.

What a fabulous place. It's a bird sanctuary and even if you are not a bird watcher there are paths to walk around and a deck overlooking the water. Apart from th scenery and the wildlife the modern apartment is beautiful and a lovely space to just relax in. You'll need transport to get there and get supplies but kitchen has everything a cook could want. The bed is super comfortable and there's a great shower. There is also a laundry onsite. The owner is very welcoming and we had a super stay.

Fantastic well equipped unit with great views of the property and bay with several easy walks to see the local birdlife. Perfect place to truly relax and chill out and still only a 10 min drive to St. Helens. Many thanks to Jerome and Samantha (Sam) who are amazing host's and we felt at home from the time we arrived. We would have stayed longer but they were booked out. Definitely returning next year for a couple of weeks. One of the highlights of our Tassie trip. Highly recommended. 🙂👍

What a stunning place! It's such a peaceful property and you have free roam over the whole place which presents like a big park! There's a guest laundry on site, BBQ facilities, places to bird watch, a river to visit, a town within walking distance (on the longer walking distance side - 15 to 20min walk, but hey, walking is great for you). The cottage itself (Blue Wren) was amazingly appointed, perfect for our stay. Had a fully functional kitchen with some basics provided and a decent sized fridge. The wildlife (mostly birds and the occassional pademelon) were so amazing to have around. Provided wifi was also great to have!

I think it’s been mentioned in other reviews about this property but I too wish I could’ve stayed here a lot longer…and not just because of the free upgrade! The owners, Sam and Jerome, are kind, interesting, pleasant, and hard-working people. The effort they put into this property clearly requires a remarkable passion and commitment. I’m not sure what I enjoyed more: the perfection of the unit I stayed in or the peaceful stroll through the amazing property.
