Wonderful location, large room, comfortable bed, the robes, the views, the light, the cattle on the adjoining property, the black swans on the nearest bay, the fairy penguins searching for a nest beside the local road, the(txt) and phone communications with the owner / manager, the relative remoteness (it's a 10 minute drive into Stanley), the thoughtful "nice" touches, the quality of the woodwork in the room.

It's a "fancy" bathroom but the shower door didn't shut properly and water drains out of the shower - not into it. There is carpet in the kitchenette (which is not especially practical), the dining table wobbled and was unstable and the dining chairs looked great but were unnecessarily heavy. It was easy to bump my head on the wall mounted TV. The main room light didn't work - a blown bulb - and could not be replaced over the Easter weekend. It was quiet the first night (one other car) but noisey over the Easter weekend when there were more guests and the guest laundry was in heavy use (there is no lock on the laundry so perhaps it was being used by a local farm worker!) Lovely location but not as functional as it could be.

Amazing to stay in a historic place of interest, beautiful surrounds, expansive grazing fields and coastal views. For a wild and windy part of Tasmania once inside you were cosy and warm. Bathrooms were modern, heated flooring a treat and a lot of room in the Technicians Cottage for family or two couples. Quality sheets and towels, generous coffee/tea, dishwasher, view from the kitchen sink amazing!

Mattress in main bedroom was like a hammock. Floors had hairs and a lot of mouse poop (I understand it is an old house amongst fields but it could of been removed -once I cleaned it all up it did not appear that the mice returned) also old opened foods from previous guests in drawers that was mouldy as. Felt a little musty and tired.

This old cable is away from the town center and so our stay there was wonderfully quiet, peaceful and private. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a really good view. We sat outside watching the beautiful sunset, which was absolutely amazing. The coffee was delicious and the coffee pot was so cute! It was sad to see the place is now for sale. We really hope it can go on!

The water had a smell but we definitely understand and didn't really feel uncomfortable. (You can buy bottled water if the smell is too strong.) it'd be great if there was a closet or some furniture for suitcases and also if facial tissues were provided. That said, those things didn't quite bother us.

building was revitalized with taste and well maintained throughout. super clean. plenty of space. comprehensive crockery and cutlery in the kitchen. the second living room with fireplace was romantic. perfect for a late night drink. the two bathrooms were clean and modern, with heated rails and floors if i remember correctly. located on the hill and it's a short drive to town centre. at night there were cute little penguins on the road leading to the house so drive carefully. hosts provided clear instructions for self check-in. could fault nothing. it's perfect.

a step to the second living room - one could trip over if not aware of it or after a few drams... just a note of caution but nothing i didnt like really.

We were upgraded to the Technician's Cottage (thank you again Charlotte) which was superb as it was self-contained allowing us to cook and relax throughout the week. With a well appointed bathroom, a very comfy bed and a cosy fire the location is a bit out of town in splendid isolation.

Although clean enough, needs a little more attention to detail with a meal left in the oven (surprise) and the outside rubbish and recycling bins full.

Location. Nice drive from township. Opportunity to see wallabies and penguins. Quiet and peaceful. Lovely outlook from back doors.

More attention to entry of rooms. It looked a little unkept and detracted from the clean and spacious room. Laundry was not clean and bin both in laundry and wheelie bins full to capacity . We found using the microwave very difficult with its awkward placement which was floor level. A simple move of this appliance would make a big difference to accessability.

Beautiful bath, clean room and wonderful view of the green paddocks and the ocean.

We stayed in the exchange room, well made beds with very comfortable linens. But the queen bed mattress felt a bit worn out, even with quality mattress topper you could feel the age of the bed. The single bed seemed to be in much better condition, guessing that the queen bed gets used a lot more. If a new mattress was to be put in it will make it very very comfortable.

We loved our 2 night stay. A very comfortable bed in a lovely clean & spacious room which is really nicely decorated. The rural views, quiet location, outside patio area, had a wonderful deep bathtub. Rural but still very convenient & easy to get to town. Stanley is a gorgeous town & well worth a visit & this was the perfect place to stay. We met 2 lovely guests who stayed in the larger 2 bedroom accommodation & they showed us inside & it was amazing!!! Would definitely stay again.

Absolutely nothing to dislike!

The 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom cottage was spotlessly clean and very well appointed. The accommodation is a short drive out of town and is quiet with a lovely ocean view. The history of the building is interesting. Communication with the host was seamless with quick responses and great instructions to facilitate an easy check in.

The atmosphere was good. The cable station is quite remote and historic…. Which was why we wanted to stay there. We had the place to ourselves a lot of the time.

It was a pity to see the cable station is up for sale. It might have enriched our experience if the management had been on site while we were there. Also , I thought, a shame the station sits on a small parcel of land and is surrounded by electric fencing.
