The staff at the hotel and restaurant were very helpful, obliging, and polite. Stanley Hotel is located close to the Nut and one can easily walk all around Stanley township from the hotel, spot historic buildings, watch the penguins at night visit the wharf area, climb the Nut and see the stunning views and variety of native flora and fauna, and do so at leisurely pace and still have time to absorb the atmosphere. Older visitors may find the uphill walk to the top of the Nut a little taxing, but the chairlift is an excellent alternative. Our room was quiet and restful, big enough to be comfortable and with a nice view over part of the town.

Clean, tidy, views to the ocean & The Nut! Lots of space, big bathroom, plenty of towels, great shower. Comfortable sofa, big TV (a bit of a rarity), nice fully equipped kitchen. There is even a carport to park your car under cover! A good sized bedroom and a very comfortable bed. There is nothing not to like! There's even a covered wood pile outside the front door so that in winter there's plenty for the beautiful fireplace. It is very clean and a perfect place to stay in Stanley.

The hotel location is very good, just opposite to the visitor information centre. There's a bar and Bistro on the first floor and in the basement. The hotel building looks like to have some heritage. The room was very clean and there's a fridge in the room.
There's no elevator, so you have to take your luggage through the stairs. There's no microwave in the room. The room is on the small side, especially for the washroom.

Stanley is a beautiful town and the hotel is centrally located with a lovely restaurant.
Towels in the bathroom were dirty on our arrival. Hallway in stairwell was full of blow flies. Staff did spray the flies. Reception staff after been advised of the dirty towels told us to just check the vanity for clean towels. No apology for the dirty towels! After being told there was no vanity in the the room and no clean towels in any of the cupboards, the staff member came up to check herself before organising clean towels! Given the age of the property we understand there are compromises made to fit a bathroom in the room with the one sink being located outside of the bathroom to double as kitchenette sink. However a wall mounted shelf in the bathroom would be an easy modification to make, giving guests somewhere to put their toiletries.

The room was spacious, bright, clean, and comfortable. The hotel is at the centre of the town, so easy reach around just by walking, if one like. There is a bistro down stair at the hotel with friendly staff, though we not dine in, but when we first arrive, we gone straight to the bistro instead of the hotel reception which is just around the corner. The room is in fact quite comfortable (in late November) though at first I was disappointed that it does not has an air-conditional, but only heater. Once open the window a bit, the air cold down the room so much I have to close it at night!
Many staircases :( low and moderate height :( ... might not be an issue for most people, but I have legs problems, so it was a bit of struggle - the reason I give 9 out 10 above.

A fantastic tiny house (can't really call it a cabin). We stayed in Poll or Penn, not sure which. Nice little kitchen, very comfortable beds, large bathroom with laundry facilities. Open dining and living area. Perfect amount of space for 4. The house was clean and tidy throughout. All linen plus extras supplied. Nice quiet location with a view of The Nut.
Absolutely nothing.

We stayed in one of the 2 bedroom cottages. Kitchen had everything you could need and enough supplies for a family. Great to have a full size fridge. Even better to have recliners, old but still very functional and great to put your feet up. Several options for heating. Bathroom has been done up and is modern with plenty of towels and toiletries supplied. New blockout curtains. This is a place you could stay a week to explore the area. Would stay again and recommend. Quiet location. All up pretty good.
Bed was uncomfortable and the pillows were terrible. When it is windy, the wind howls down the chimney. Spider webs on the ceilings. Some things did need updating, like wardrobes, chest of drawers.

We travelled as two couples. Very well equipped and comfortable. Older style but very clean with a well equipped kitchen. Also had a washing machine and clothesline. There was a fire set up for us but it too warm to need it. Very close to everything in town and we walked to dinner and the penguin sighting. Would definitely recommend for a stay.

Beautiful historic hotel. Comfortable room, nice view over the town to the sea. Quiet nights even at weekends. Excellent restaurant, which was full both nights. Great and helpful staff Private parking in the centre of Stanley
The stairs were quite difficult to manage with cases. No lift being an historic building
