I just ❤️ this old hotel. It is one of my favourite places in the world. I recovered from a lack of sleep over previous days, sleeping 11 hours almost straight in my fantastic room. Thank you. 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Listening to Friday night’s band, who were great by the way, in the freezing cold, was a serious bummer. I’m sure the limited number of audience members was due to this too!! The poor 4 band members were almost hypothermic!! How stupid when the inside venue would have been perfect, warm and this band could have been off the charts, who knows? Instead it was a feat of pure physical endurance against the cold. 😳 I only stayed for one song and didn’t purchase a drink on principle. Disappointing and a definite negative mark against the Pub’s Management. ❌

The accommodations was comfortable and clean and budget friendly. It was also centrally located and if we're driving large area of parking at the rear.

Donnybrook is a growing town and even though owners have done there best to provide nice accommodations in modernizing the accommodations it felt a bit dated in some areas and amenities say if we're staying more then two nights were minimal such as kitchenette for those type of stays and being close to the highway was quite noisy.

The accomodation was comfortable and clean. I loved the menu choices in the pub. I am coeliac and was so happy with how many gf choices there were and the care they took in preparing it. The beer garden was lovely with lots of space for my 5 year old to run around. Great live music and a lovely atmosphere.

Although the building is old, it was very clean having had a modest makeover. The room was tiny but adequate. New carpet, comfy bed with clean pillows & linen. TV, Netflix. Shared kitchen & bathroom. Bar staff reserved a table for dinner due to a large crowd that evening. Food delicious & very fresh. Several families with well-behaved kids, efficient service, quite busy & well organised. Plenty of parking at the rear of the building.

While I knew it could be a bit noisy up until midnight with a full house, I didn’t expect to have to knock on the door of the room over the hall at 1.30am to ask the occupants (4 people) to be a bit quieter. They weren’t rowdy, just having a good time but incessant bursts of loud laughter kept me awake for hours, even the TV couldn’t drown them out. The rest of the night was quiet. Tenants may need reminding of acceptable noise levels?

On a rare occasion you see a hotelier being forced to rise beyond expectation and Mark, the owner was forced this time. Donnybrook had a rare total power outage when I arrived and Mark and his staff were simply ... THE BEST. Customers at the bar were provided with free Beers & Candles whilst guests checking, a guided historical candle lit tour afterwards with beers on the house, where even the cynic of cynic amongst the resident guests could see no reason to even thinking of complaining. In short, Mark has done wonders in turning a disgusting tavern, that for years had become a blight on the horizon of beautiful Donnybrook into a place where people can come and stay and eat great food at the budget to medium price bracket so do NOT hesitate to stay and help not just the new owner and staff but the local Donnybrook community too.

The rooms have no individual bathrooms as are clearly advertised, and Mark is considering putting simple sinks in each at minimal cost as one of the many phases of taking the tavern back to its former re War glory days; however, the showers and loos are great and clean just what you need.

Old style pub with the basic essentials in a picturesque country town. Central to shops and walking trails. Friendly staff. Comfortable room.

Could have been a few more amenities eg crockery and cutlery for breakfast and a freezer in the fridge to put cold packs.

Perfect Location. Large & Clean spotless rooms. Very comfortable beds and Pillows. Delicious and generous sized meals.

No chairs in the rooms which would be wonderful to enjoy a cuppa Tea, or put on your Shoes while getting dressed. A chair/stool in the shower would be great too.

Staff and service were amazing. Family enjoyed the food. Outdoor area was great. Our teenagers enjoyed playing pool and games. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and would give them 10/10 for service.

Bedding was uncomfortable. Needed extra towels and pillows. Does need a good dusting clean cobwebs but the vibe of the place was great. Also wasnt expecting shared bathroom and showers but family didnt mind.

The meals were perfect and well presented. There wasn't a long wait time as we ordered before the rush around 6pm. Having access to a small kitchen upstairs near the room was a bonus and a pleasant surprise. Thank you. The bathrooms were clean. Even on a busy, noisy night in the bar and dining area it was quiet upstairs. Same applies for traffic on the south-west highway. I wholeheartedly recommend a stay at Donnybrook Hotel. I'll definitely be going there to stay again.
