The hotel is located by the Danube River with an amazing sunrise view. We arrived by bike while cycling from Passau to Vienna. One thing to keep in mind: dinner is served until 19:30, and there are no supermarkets nearby, so plan accordingly if you don’t have your own food. Dinner was very tasty, and the restaurant was lovely. The breakfast buffet in the morning had a nice variety of food. If I repeat this trip, I would definitely stay here again!

Great location by the river and between high hills. Very quiet. The place is mainly aimed at cyclists and campers, and equipped with everything they might need. It is a gasthaus, so it also has guest rooms. We travelled by car, we were there - a family of five - only one night and we fit in perfectly. It is a family business and the hosts make every effort to make you feel comfortable as a guest. We got a huge attic room with plenty of beds, the bedding was fresh and clean, the room was tidy, the private bathroom was simple, but had everything you need and most importantly - clean and odourless. Breakfast was simple, tasty and plentiful, in the form of a buffet. On site you could also eat dinner, drink beer etc. Dishes from the menu to choose from, everything was freshly cooked. We even got wasp swatters when we sat down and ordered food (wasp season was in full swing) - show me another place where you can eat and have something to swat away insects. We felt really good in this place.

I only have good memories from this place.

Very close to the Donau River, between the montains with an amazing view! Just a perfect place to relax and enjoy nature.

The road to reach the hotel is very narrow, only fits 1 car at the time. The breakfast could have more fruits and local special to raise the experience.

Gasthof Zum heiligen Nikolaus gets a really exceptional staff crew, welcoming you in an exceptional and quiet place in front of the Danube. Exceptional place, quiet for you, good Austrian cooked food, really nice and cleanup rooms, no noise, you can also repair your bike, charge it and park it in a secured bike garage. Big Thank you for this really good time passed

The room was large and comfortable with windows that opened to let the fresh breeze in. The location was perfect for our bicycle trip down the Donau. The staff was so friendly and helpful. They let us check in a bit early as our day progressed faster than planned. We didn't have to worry about our bikes as there was a large secure area for them. Breakfast had a large variety of items.

The location was wonderfull, next to the Danube shore. It was accesible to the bicycle trails too. There’s a garage where you can leave your bicycle, providing chargers for the ebikes. It locks during nighttime. Between the building and the river, there’s also a place for camping.

There weren’t many options for the food the restaurant provided for lunch and dinner.

The location is excellent if you go by bike - you stay directly on the bike track at the river. The personel is very kind and helpfull. Very tasty breakfast and dinner. Enough space in the room. Easy way to load your e-bike - you can do it where the bikes are kept overnigjt.

Mosquitos 😁 but if in the summer you stay at the river you should know about it!

Right on the Danube River bike path in a quiet, rural setting. We had a riverfront balcony room from which to view the various vessels pass by. Breakfast was included & fueled us for the day. Reasonable priced limited dinner menu (homemade spinach dumplings; schnitzel; & meat load - all served with a tasty green salad).

The location is great. We had a room with view over the Danube (room 3). It looks a littke old fashioned in colour scheme but everything is super ckean and looked after with care. We had a lovely dinner, which we didnot book in advance, great breakfast (buffet style, European) staff very friendly. There are provisions for kids too (high chairs, kids books and games) adult books. Bike storage shed and bike repair tools. There is also a campsite for tents, caravans and campers

We slept with the door to the balcony open and were inundated with mosquitoes.

Perfect for cyclists stopping along the Daube bike trail. They have a garage for the bikes and tools available for use. The rooms are simple and comfortable and the breakfast was not fancy but still very nice. Dinner looking out over the river was lovely and delicious.

The area is a bit isolated so no supermarkets or other shops nearby (not a fault of the hotel, just something to note). Also, the rooms overlook the river, but with the caravan park is in the foreground. It's nothing terrible, but does detract somewhat from the overall lovely view.
