Good location, nice staff. Parking space was very much appreciated!

the room would have been also good but the open concept bathroom when you stay with your mom in the room is not something I would be willing to do again 🤨 good for honeymooners, but not for others. Sorry. Also, it was very noisy during the night. Partygoers on the street.

Breakfast was good offering a great range of everything you would expect and great quality products and ingredients; the bistro / breakfast room is bright, clean and modern; the location was central; beds were comfortable; room was clean.

We didn’t really mind but our room was directly above the front of the hotel and bar over-looking Herrenstrasse which meant it was quite noisy during the late evening until with the wonderful noise of locals enjoying their evening over drinks with lots of convivial happy chatter. If you want a more peaceful late evening in your room, I would recommend that you request a room at the back! ☺️

Great location in the very center of the city of Linz. Parking available. Lift. Our 6th floor room had high ceilings, automatic window shades, separate toilet, real hardwood floors, good shower head, place for 2 bags, enough room to organize clothing, safe.

At this level one would anticipate higher quality bedding sheets, pillows and towels. The AC is available in the room but not in the elevators and not in common areas. And as in many places in Europe, smell of smoke permeates the premises.

There are not a ton of hotel options in Linz- luckily I came across Hotel Schwarzer Bär! It was so moderately priced, it actually almost worried me. I trusted the many great reviews, and I am SO GLAD I DID! What a great experience that totally blew me away! We were traveling through Austria to visit WW2 historical sites, so we booked the large suite they have at the hotel. It is slightly hard to navigate there when you first arrive- PLEASE, JUST CALL THE HOTEL- they will guide you, and once you get those directions, it is super easy. Upon walking in, I was so pleased with the lobby/cafe/check in area. There were a few people enjoying a beverage and snack outside on the patio. The front desk staff was GREAT! They checked us in right away and explained the location, breakfast, and other restaurant options. Once we got to our room- WOW! It was SO BIG! Given, we did book the large suite, but it had a full kitchenette, living room, large balcony, 2 closets, a huge bathroom (with GREAT hot water), a nice king size bed, and another desk area. It had a great air conditioner (a HUGE plus if you need it), but also a ton of windows to open. The breakfast was GREAT! One of the best on our 4 week vacation. We had dinner in their terrace restaurant- and it was awesome! We were able to sit outside and enjoy the great views. I KNEW I had to write them a great review- I was beyond impressed for a VERY AFFORDABLE hotel.

The only thing I can even think of was finding the hotel originally. You actually have to drive down a street that looks like "walking only"- we sort of circled around for awhile until we actually called. Once we did that- easy breezy!

Excellent central location, perfect base for exploring Linz! Stylish hotel, staff was very helpful. We booked a small double room, it was as described, somewhat basic, but the bed was comfortable and we had everything we needed for a short break. Good value for money. We would certainty return!

Not really a negative, we didn't have breakfast at the hotel because it was somewhat expensive for us at €19 per person. We don't eat much in the morning, so we took the opportunity to visit some of the nice cafés in the vicinity where you can get a small breakfast/brunch which suited us better.

the hotel kept warning me that the room was small, but it was just right for one person. it even had a desk and a chair and the bathroom was spacious and nice

I did not like receiving an email asking me for my credit card details, and when I decided to do that on the arrival at the reception office, it kept bugging me with repeated requests

The hotel is in a prime location close to a lot of great Restaurants and Cafés. The room is quite large and well equipped, it even has a decent size desk. The room had a great thematic decor and we had a nice big window to the street downstairs. One nice little feature that we enjoyed is that there was a light switch for the entire room on the middle of the bed board - super convenient!

Our stay didn't include breakfast but there was a miscommunication and we ended up eating breakfast at the hotel. When we realized the mistake, we went to pay for the breakfast and it was extremely expensive for the amount and variety of food offered. We wish the staff had been clear with us about breakfast and its price so we had gone elsewhere instead.

We loved our room which had a balcony looking out onto the rooftops of Linz. The location of the hotel is right in the heart of the downtown which makes it perfect for evening walks in search of drinks and dinner. At the same time, we were not bothered by street noise so it was a great combination. The hotel also offered convenient storage for our bikes in a safe garage at the back of the property. The check-in staff were friendly and helpful and we very much enjoyed the bathroom facilities with the best smelling hotel shower gel of the whole trip!

Cleanliness, overall comfort, proximity to the historic centre of Linz

The bathroom (washbasin, shower, WC) is separated from the room by partially transparent glass walls that are not suitable for privacy. This aspect is not clearly understood in the official room description.

The location of the hotel is right in the city center. In 2 minutes you are at the main square or at the cathedral. Near the hotel you will find cafes, restaurants, bakeries and a shopping center. The hotel offers a parking garage right next to the hotel. In case of full occupancy, there are x additional parking garages in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. Rich breakfast, helpful staff. If we have a trip to Linz, we will book the hotel again

The hotel does offer a parking garage, but it is paid for. the price for one day is about 17 euros. That seems expensive to me...
