The place had the elegance and aura of an old palace, with a graceful charm that made the stay feel special. • Located in the heart of the Old City, with all major attractions just a short walk away. • Surrounded by numerous cafés and restaurants, including a lovely open-air eatery right opposite the property. • The hotel’s rooftop restaurant was a highlight—relaxing ambience, courteous staff, and delicious food, better than many outside places we tried. • The heritage feel of the property added to the experience, giving a sense of timeless comfort. • One of our rooms was spacious, airy, and ideal for three guests, with a large bathroom and extra bed. • The second room, although smaller, was still comfortable and adequate for two. • Breakfast was decent, and the overall atmosphere remained peaceful throughout our stay.

The difference in room sizes was quite noticeable, even though both rooms were booked in the same category but good enough for two people. • Some of the front desk staff were not very helpful or warm, and didn’t assist when we enquired about sightseeing options. • No support from the hotel’s travel desk, but thankfully several travel agencies were located just outside, offering brochures and arranging tours with ease.

Our stay at Shah Palace Luxury Museum Hotel in Baku was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived until the day we checked out, everything exceeded our expectations. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly by the front desk staff, who were not only professional but genuinely friendly and attentive. To our delight, they upgraded us to a larger room at no extra cost after we mentioned wanting a bigger shower space. This level of attentiveness and hospitality truly set the tone for our stay. The room itself was immaculate, with every detail carefully thought out. The decor was a perfect blend of elegance and modern comfort, offering a true sense of luxury. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the room was spacious, with every amenity we could have asked for. The cleanliness was impeccable, making us feel at ease and completely at home. The bathroom, particularly the upgraded shower, was stunning—spacious, spotless, and with excellent water pressure. It felt like a mini spa experience each time we used it. The visual ambiance throughout the hotel was another highlight. The interior design exuded sophistication, with warm lighting, tasteful artwork, and beautifully maintained common areas. The hotel captured the essence of Baku’s rich culture while providing a modern and luxurious atmosphere. The staff truly went above and beyond at every interaction, from accommodating our requests to providing insightful recommendations about the local area. Whether it was housekeeping, reception, or dining staff, everyone was polite, efficient, and genuinely eager to make our stay memorable. Overall, the Hotel offers a seamless experience from start to finish. The attention to detail, exceptional service, and thoughtful upgrades made our stay truly unforgettable. The location and the working staff. The people working in the hotel are amazing. thanks to Javid in reception and Arzua at the restaurant , and all of the great people there. My room was not so clean, at first , and the bad was not so comfortable, I guess, the mattress needs to be changed...yet, I managed, after getting all I asked for, like an extra blanket to put over the bed, and extra cleaning from the staff. The hotel is dearly recovered, thanks to the amazing people working there, and thanks to the best location, in Baku, for guests who prefer walking around, and save on taxis. Thank you for a great experience, first time in Baku.

The mattress in room 320, is old, and uncomfortable, it needs to be changed. I managed, by putting an extra blanket over it. There is no chair at the room, and people have to sit on the bed. There is a bad smell from the toilet, but I understood, it is a problem in all the places at the old city of Baku. Cleaning needs a little extra attention.

Stunning hotel with spectacular traditional Azerbaijani interior design. Felt like living in an actual palace. Artefacts all over and even in the floor. Massive room. Nice Turkish bath. And the staff were excellent. I'd like to name Bakhtiyar as someone who was very helpful and welcoming. And also the guy at the reception who I did not get the chance to get his name. He had black hair if that helps. I stayed from 30/05/25 to 31/05/25. They were both interested in hearing about my solo trip to Azerbaijan. Great hotel. Great country. I have been telling others about this place. 

Nothing wrong at all. If I am nit picking it's that there wasn't many people so it's quite difficult to get pictures taken of me as I am a solo traveller. But I still managed

Staff at the reception were very friendly and helpful, gave us travel tips, helped with luggage, and made us feel welcomed overall. Breakfast was good, and once again a shout out to the attentive staff at the buffet. The ambience is gorgeous, rooms spacious with art-deco interiors. location is perfect, close to the old city walls and double gate.

our room was close to the storage cabinet where all the hotel cleaning staff gathered and talked loudly, endlessly for hours, right outside our room, during the day, even after being requested to keep it down. this is not ok. staff should be more mindful of the noise levels and take their meetings elsewhere

A very nice hotel with rooms that have a charming historical atmosphere. The staff was kind and attentive, and we enjoyed breakfast on the terrace with a beautiful view of the old city. The hotel is conveniently located at the entrance to the historic city and not far from the shopping area, restaurants, and the seaside promenade. We booked the private spa zone for two hours, which included access to the sauna and Turkish bath. Everything was very clean and well-maintained. We arranged a taxi from the airport via Booking.com for €15 (approximately 30 manat), which we paid in advance. For our return to the airport, we used the metro and then changed to bus. The total cost with a Baku Card was 4 manat for two people, and one card can be used for multiple passengers.

The hotel was v.comfortable,location v.convenient,but the best part was the v.helpful n cheerful staff. Pervin at the reception desk is so helpful,besides being v.efficient. He could handle our busload of 20 with a smile n efficiency n at all times willing to help us with our queries n problems. So also the staff in the cafeteria at breakfast hour. V.energetic,helpful n hospitable. I would most definitely recommend this place to family n friends

The doors to the rooms often gave problems with the electronic key . That was a hassle with my fellow travellers,BUT,the staff were ever ready to help out n extremely prompt too.

The hotel truly is a museum in its own right with a beautiful courtyard filled with archaeological artefacts. Our room was also impressive, including a terrace from which the Maiden Tower was visible. Reception staff were all super helpful, storing our bags while we took a trip to Sheki. Location in Baku Old Town is hard to beat, all the sights are within easy walking distance, and it’s also a short walk down to the seafront boulevard. Would definitely recommend.

The location is excellent. And the decor in the public spaces of the hotel is amazing. The atrium is world class. Unfortunately, I missed breakfast so I cannot comment. Front desk staff fantastic. They were very accommodating for my request for late checkout. And the room is big and attractive. I would return to this hotel.

Details in the hotel have been overlooked. For example, towel rod that falls down easily. This is fairly common in this greater part of the world, and if you come with the right mindset not a big deal. The quality of the soap and shampoo provides is quite poor. And while the spa is free, it mostly means that you sit in a dry sauna that isn't quite warm enough, and the beautiful turkish bath just sits there unused becasue it isn't quite steamy enough. There are little unforced errors across this hotel that should be easy to fix. Only if someone cared a bit. The thing is, Baku is a hard place to find a great hotel. And you will find that most of the reviews on this site are fake. So, this place is definately among my top 3 in the area, and first in it's price point.

The location is just right. Nizami street is 5 minutes away and so are many cafés lined in old Baku city which are close to the hotel. Spacious rooms and a good breakfast were also a plus. Must mention Turan at the front desk who was prompt in providing us an early check in, Arzu at the restaurant who was cheerful and helpful and Baktiyar, the bell boy who was also very helpful when there was some confusion about our luggage. All in all, we had a great stay.

Some a maintenance work was on at the property during our stay.
