I recently stayed in a family room and had an absolutely fantastic experience! From the warm welcome to the comfortable accommodation, this was great value. The host was incredibly kind and attentive, making sure I had everything I needed while also offering great local recommendations. Their hospitality truly made me feel at home. The breakfast was outstanding—so much choice, with fresh, delicious options to suit every taste. Whether you prefer a cooked meal or lighter continental choices, they’ve got you covered. It was the perfect way to start the day! Location-wise, the B&B couldn’t have been better. It was conveniently situated close to Ypres town center, making it easy to explore the area without any hassle. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a stay with excellent service, amazing food, and a prime location. I’ll definitely be returning on my next visit!
Nothing to report.

The property was less than a 10 minute walk to the centre of Ypres, the room we stayed in was above the garage with access via steep spiral stairs, this was not a problem for us but maybe an issue for less able people. The room was fully fitted out and would be best described as self catering as all the facilities were there with the room being serviced every day. Breakfast was downstairs in the main house with a superb selection for continental and English, Magda our wonderful hosts cooked bacon and eggs in a way that our son really enjoyed. Parking outside the B & B 6pm - 9am otherwise you can use a local car park.
nothing everything was perfect for our stay.

Magda was an amazing host and we really enjoyed our stay. Ter Vesten is in a great location & quiet, a very short walk from the main square We booked a family room for 3, was only 2 of us, but gave us extra room for our bike gear and the room was perfect. The breakfast was fabulous with so much to choose from and Magda suggested we sit in the lovely garden which we did. We particularly chose Ter Vesten as there was secure Motorcycle parking for a small fee. Most definitely will return.

A great find only 10 minutes from the centre of Ypres. We enjoyed the fact it was separate to the main property and totally self contained with a well equipped small kitchen. It was clean with comfortable beds and instant hot water. The room we had was situated on the roof terrace and was great for enjoying a beer whilst appreciating the well cared for Garden. The host spoke good English and produced a wonderful array of food for breakfast. Yoghurts, lots of different fruits, cheeses, hams, breads, jams, pastries and also a cooked option. We had breakfast with another couple around a big kitchen table, it was a lovely homely atmosphere. Thank you very much, so glad we found this gem of a B&B and will definitely be recommending to our friends.
😀 for us as a family this stay worked very well. We couldn't find any faults with this property

Warm and welcoming host. We had room number 5 on the first floor, which had access to the roof terrace. Room decor was a little outdated, but this added to the charm and was in keeping with the period of the property. Bed was very comfortable but was not a double as stated on Booking.com but was 2 singles made into a double. Bathroom was not en-suite, and consisted of a separate toilet and shower room, although these were next to the room and solely for our use. Both rooms were on the landing next to the bedroom with a curtain for additional privacy. Shower room was large and even included a bathrobe. Facecloths also provided, which were appreciated & lovely toiletries. A kettle was provided with a good selection of teas & some cappuccion sachets. These were also on the landing. Fridge in the room was great & there was complimentary water & sweets! Information guide in the room was very helpful, including details of the last post ceremony held at 8pm each evening (get there early for a good view!) Breakfast was HUGE and we were even offered bacon and eggs!!
Bathroom not being en-suite. Towels a little threadbare. No coffee sachets

Lovely warm welcome at the B&B including letting us park our motorbikes in the garage to keep them secure. We had the family room upstairs for the 2 of us, really big with comfy beds and great facilities. Only slight complication was the tight spiral staircase to get to the upper rooms as a person on crutches! It was fine in the end but something to note. Breakfast was fabulous as other guests have described.
Nothing.

I've stayed before at Ter Vesten, and it's still as good. A friendly welcome from the hostess, great location, and one of the best breakfasts around. When the weather is ok there is a pleasant terrace to sit out on. It has the genuine feel of a "home from home".
Beds were a little on the soft side for me (as a back pain sufferer). There is no onsite parking but street parking is available, though time restrictions can apply. The hostess will advise...

Very convenient for the centre of Ypres, comfortable room and there was a lovely selection of breakfast items including delicious bacon and eggs. The host/owner very kindly helped us when our car broke down in the main square which was then towed away to clear the square for the Saturday market. All ended well but we were thankful for the hosts help and her English speaking neighbour for their kind assistance 🙏

Very friendly host, welcoming g and informative. Allowed us to park bikes in garage but does charge €10 which we were happy to pay for secruity. Good breakfast with lots of choice. Nice well maintained garden if you want to chill in garden. Nice and quiet environment. Great location for city and walkable to menin gate. Would recommend and happy to stay again when next in Ypres.
Certain areas look tired and could do with a visible refresh. Our sink was cracked. However doesn’t take away the pleasure of staying here. Happy to recommend.
