Pretty much everything was brilliant. Friendly and helpful staff/owners, cleanliness, breakfast, location location location, room was super quiet and very dark at night. Character of the building. 'Boutique' nature of the hotel. Lovely coffee and hot chocolate for kids. Shoe shiner! Where do you see one of those these days? Easy short walk to restaurants, the Cloth Hall, Menin Gate. Super convenient, and yet super quiet.

There was a mosquito in the room, so I advise closing the windows at night, but then I was a little too hot. There was an air conditioner, but we didn't use it for fear of being too cold. Can't please everyone... Parking was on the street as expected, although free after 6pm and on Sundays. We parked around the corner where it's 2 Euros for the whole day.

Hotel Ambrosia is in Ypres (pronounced I-pers) city centre, walking distance to the main street, the restaurants, cathedral, Menin Gate and In Flanders Fields Museum. Being Canadian, my main reason for travelling to Ypres was to visit the site where John McCrae wrote his famous poem, "In Flanders Fields." My son and I were able to rent a bike a block or so from the hotel and ride to Essex Farm Cemetery along the canal. The owner of Hotel Ambrosia gave us the bike rental recommendation and answered any historical or regional questions we were curious about in the area. It was evident he loves the hospitality industry and enjoys sharing his knowledge of the area with the guests. Hotel Ambrosia is quiet, quaint, clean, warm and inviting. Our room was perfect for our stay and the morning breakfast, including the venue, was delightful!

Excellent bacon and eggs for breakfast. The location was great, a couple of minutes walk from the main square and 5 minutes from the Menin Gate. We walked the ramparts, visited a few bars and had a superb curry from the restaurant 2 minutes down the road. I would go back to Ypres as there was far more to see than an overnight stopover allowed and it had a lovely feel to it.

Parking was a bit of a hike over cobbled pavements and streets ( we parked in one of the free car parks outside of the town) as I found it very confusing to find any where nearer to park, although there is a car park up the street, but you have to book that for 2 nights minimum at a price.

Cannot rate the the Hotel highly enough. We went as a family and had three rooms. We found the hotel easily, perfect location. Even better staff and assistance. We didn’t have change for the parking meter, and the App payment doesn’t work for UK vehicles so take note of that. The Hotel owner came with us to check the meter, saved us money using the free 30mins option and gave us the fee for the parking from the till. (We repaid him) he didn’t need to do that, would we have got that service in the UK definitely not. Took time to explain all the sights, brilliant breakfast cooked to order. Brilliant stay.

Friendly staff, good choice of breakfast cereals, fresh fruit, cheeses, cold meats and pastries, cooked breakfast available on request. Excellent location. Vincent and Iwona were very friendly and helpful, giving advice on local places of interest and recommended places to eat etc.

No coffee and tea making facilities in the room. There was a good quality coffee machine in reception with no restriction in taking cups to your room but this was only available free of charge after 8am for a limited time after which there was a 1 euro charge.

My 3rd visit to this Hotel, Located a couple of minutes from the main square with plenty of nearby restaurants and bars. Walk a couple of minutes further and you are at the Menin Gate, a perfect spot to start your exploration of the area. The hotel is family run, with a range of room types. We travelled by Bike and there was secure parking available for us. Breakfast was great, freshly cooked options available to order along with continental options. Overall a great place to stay in Ypres.

Great location just off the main square. The owner and his wife were friendly and welcoming. The room was perfect for a solo traveler, on the second floor, compact but with 2 single beds. The room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful with all that you would expect, cereals, croissants, breads, yogurts, biscuits, fruits, cheeses and the option of a bespoke cooked breakfast. Excellent value for money. I’ve been to Ypres many times but have never stayed at the Ambrosia before, but now feel I’ve found my favourite. Thoroughly recommend.

Absolutely nothing to dislike.

Ambrosia is a privately owned hotel run by extremely friendly and welcoming owners and assisting staff. Its location is only five minutes walk from the main square and less than ten from the Menin Gate. Parking is available in free of charge zones less than 10 minutes walk from the hotel whilst pay parking is available outside or immediate area. The breakfast is really pleasant with hot bacon and eggs cooked to order whilst there is a continental choice to enjoy also. The rooms are comfortable and clean and offer flexible options if you are travelling as a family or friend willing to share. I have stayed at the Ambrosia before and will definitely do so again.

The location, welcome, and comfortable surroundings.

Excellent location,about 10 mins from station, lovely air conditioned Hotel, room was beautiful, clean and spacious with a really comfortable bed, breakfast was a great selection, hot breakfast cooked to order and plenty of fresh pastries, bread,rolls,cereal,cheese, yoghurt, fruit and everything else you could want for breakfast. Handy vending machine for a night cap or a soft drink, coffee machine too. Really didn't want to leave. All staff lovely.

The staff arranged for a late check-in and helped me find a parking space, and followed up with a warm and friendly welcome. How unusual but pleasing to find an old fashioned suit case stand. The en-suite shower room was a good size and everything worked. The breakfast experience: the room, breakfast and atmosphere just surpassed all expectations.

Driving around Ypres in the dark, in the rain with a Sat-Nav that doesn't know the one-way system or location of no-entry signs.! and I should have checked the parking arrangements on map.Seety.co
