My stay at PortoBay was really good. The hotel met my expectations and I had no major issues. The reception is quite beautiful, check in process was super fast and we were given a welcome drink. Room was spacious and the bathroom was also large. There's a balcony with a hammock to relax outside. Bed was comfortable, shower was good, a/c worked well (which is essential during summer in Buzios) and there was good space for our suitcases and also hanging clothes. Breakfast by the pool was amazing. The spread is nice with fresh fruits everyday, breads, cakes, cheese, ham, pao de queijo, yoghurts and they prepare amazing waffles, omelets, tapioca, avocado toast and much more. Wifi was strong and worked well throughout the entire property. They also provide towels to take out to the beach for free. Staff was always friendly and helpful. Location is good, within 5-10min drive to various beaches and just a 10min walk to Rua das Pedras/Orla Bardot, where you can find countless restaurants/bars and shops. The propety itself is in a very quiet area, so it's good to relax and sleep at night.

My only critic is to the housekeeping staff. During our 3 day stay the only thing they did was to make our bed and clean the trash bin. Buzios is a beach destination, so people tend to spend the whole day out at the beach and inevitably come back bringing sand/dirt from outside. Our room was never cleaned properly, neither were our towels, face towels and not even the shower mat (which was clearly dirty) changed. Even the glasses from our welcome drink were never taken. Everything else was great.

- The rooms need better maintenance. For example, we noticed that under the bathroom sink it was completely black / green due to mold. The shower also had plenty of mold spots. This could be easily avoided with a monthly deeper cleaning. Also the roof tiles in the balcony were not clean - Spacious kitchen area without any oven. We were unable to make any home meal due to that. There is enough space to install one or at least a portable one - Missed a small gym

The staff are excellent at this hotel and really made our stay special. All of them deserve credit but we had specific great interactions and service from Priscilla and the young lady that works in the bar at the reception. They were always super friendly with their interactions, and really went the extra mile when it came to special requests and personalised services. The breakfast was great, varied and designed to mimic home cooked grandma style breakfast which made every day start that bit better. We can’t recommend the hotel enough, we even visited during the busiest week of the year and the hotel still managed to be a tranquil setting to relax against the super busy buzios during the new year break.

The only improvement we could find is that a few more hanging spots in the room would be great, you can tell it was a good experience when that’s the only downside!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Porto Bay. Initially, the room we were assigned didn't align with the booking photos, prompting us to request a change. The staff graciously accommodated our request and swiftly arranged for us to move to a different room. The pool area was stunning, and we were provided with fresh towels daily. Additionally, breakfast offered a wide array of options to choose from.

This is a dream hotel in all aspects. We stayed in the royal suite which was amazing with a beautiful balcony and great views. The hotel staff are exceptional, especially the breakfast ladies who will go out of their way to get you what you want. The pool area is lush with plenty of sun loungers. Walking distance to town and close to most beaches. Great value for money.

Excellent staff.. Very pleasant, welcoming and helpful. Best staff I've met in 30 years of coming to Brazil. The hotel was very clean and super, imaginative breakfast catering for all tastes and diets. Also not on the beachfront so quiet and civilised.

The day/evening food menu was pretty limited. Mainly burgers and basic pastas. Nothing vegetarian but one salad. I'm sure the local staff could make a better menu. I'm sure it will improve. I suppose most people eat out anyway.

Hotel foyer and pool area very attractive. Simple rooms in exotic location. Short walk into town. Friendly staff. Pleasant breakfast sitting next to the pool.

The location was great. Walking distance from the centre, but away from all the noise so very peaceful. The staff were exceptionally friendly - from the receptionists to the bar staff. They helped us book trips for Buzios and Arraial do Cabo. The rooms were immaculate and spacious. Very comfortable beds. The air conditioner was on for our arrival meaning the room was cool when we entered (this has been the only hotel I've been to in Brazil to do this). The pool area is also stunning! And all this for an brilliant price! I would definitely recommend people to stay here if they are visiting Buzios

Buzious was fantastic and an absolute play ground! This place was discovered 20 years ago and has grown a lot. It used to be a secret get away and many very wealthy Brazilians have purchased property there plus surrounding islands, etc. I am in love with it so much that we want to invest in buying property there and making it a seasonal home for us there! Hotel was great overlooking the bay not too far away from the ACTION but far away enough that it was quiet. Big comfy bed with lots of pillows. We got the king suite which was fantastic. Big porch ... fabulous service ... menu could have been better ... only burgers and pizza and pasta but otter than this excellent stay. Very economical for USA residents to visit. Highly recommended!!! Staff even spoke English helped with booking excursions, etc. Beaches were excellent with walking by street food vendors, fabulous diving, fishing, snorkeling, boat tours, etc. I cannot express how much fun you will have here. Felt very safe the entire time ... and as an adder the Brazilian people are so sweet and wonderful.

Kindest of the personnel from very beginning, view from the lobby terrace, rooms with verandas, swimming pool (open 24h), food…Hotel is located in very quiet area but still walking distance to main boulevard of Búzios, really recommend this hotel:)
