Excellent location just a couple of blocks away from the main town square and an easy walk to the bus station. The buildings, facilities and the room itself are all very well-restored and well-maintained, which definitely adds to the charm of the pousada and makes for a more relaxing place to come back to. Nice touch to have chocolate placed on your bed every day. There are many quaint seating areas located throughout the property for you to relax in. The staff are all very friendly and make you feel welcome - You really appreciate the personalised service they provide to help make your stay more pleasant. Thanks in particular to Kauã, Filipe and Alessandra at the front desk, who were all especially helpful. The breakfast service is also fantastic, giving you the option to have some food made to order. Even for the buffet side the food is of a high quality, including the homemade yoghurt, and something as typical as pineapple slices were elevated by adding lime zest on top. Overall, you may pay a bit more to stay here than many other places in town, but it's well spent.

We stayed three nights to celebrate our honeymoon. The staff made us feel special and welcome. We enjoyed the sauna and pool. We stayed in the master bedroom, which is spacious and private. It was great amenities such as a professional hairdryer, Nespresso coffee maker, and bathrobes. There were two smaller beds in the lower floor, which double as sofas. What stood out the most to us was the service. We had some leftover food we needed to heat up, and the staff kindly heated, plated, and brought it to our room. They took care of our laundry (for a reasonable fee), and booked us a taxi at the end of our stay. We felt very special and definitely worth the stay.

Not being able to stay longer

Great breakfast. Central but quiet location. The morning we checked out, we left our bags at the hotel to spend another day out on a boat in the bay. In the evening, when we got back to the hotel to claim our bags, the staff gave us towels and let us shower off by the pool, even though we had already checked out.

They didn’t clean our room on one of four days we were there, and it was a bit damp in the room pretty much the whole time (though, in fairness, we were there on some rainy days). The room was a bit small, which typically doesn’t bother me, but the way the doors (to the room, to the bathroom) and the shutters (to the courtyard, to the back of the building) opened was a but awkward: it was difficult to move around the room.

Everything about this place is perfect and totally worth the money. The staff was incredible and make our stay perfect from the beginning to the end. We arrived early morning (4am) and everyone was extremely helpful despite our inconvenient timing. The breakfasts are delicious (try sweet version of the local pancake called tapioca) and the localization of the place is perfect, just inside the historical part of the town. This was such an amazing and relaxing stay and we will recommend this place to everyone. If we will ever come back to Brazil, it will be to Paraty and Pousada do Ouro, it’s magical!

Everything was perfect

We had a lovely time at the Pousada do Ouro. Everything was great - the room, the location, the pool and everything else. The people could not have been more lovely and kind. A special thanks to Isabella and Filipe for their kindness and rescuing my backpack which I stupidly left in a cab. Also a special thanks to Junior for his friendship, explanations of the birds and of course the caipirinhas!

The hotel is absolutely stunning! The attention to detail is perfect and it’s such a perfect oasis away from the town (which is equally as beautiful). The staff at this hotel go far and beyond to make your experience perfect and they always had a smile on their faces and always happy to help. The bed and sheets were so comfortable, I never slept better. I was so sad to leave

This is the best pousada in Paraty. It’s safe, clean, and the staff are incredibly dedicated to ensuring the best customer experience! It’s also the only pousada in the historic area with actual parking. A huge benefit and convenience to those driving to the pousada and wishing to enjoy the area with a car.

I can’t think of anything!

Super friendly staff, beautiful room and courtyard. Right in the old city center but in a more quiet part. You can walk right to the shops and great restaurants nearby (definitely try Fugu for some Japanese delights).

It was really cold in the breakfast area with the AC - as everything in Brazil it was cooled too much for our taste.

Amazing place to stay! Great location, in the old city of Paraty just a short stroll from the bay, the facilities are beautiful, surrounded by green and super well kept, very quiet, unless guests are not mindful, great breakfast options and amazing food, we also tried some of the food services outside breakfast and quality is top notch. We did use the sauna, which we advise to if you like it, and we did have a massage as well, Kyomi and Natache were our masseur's and I highly advise anyone to avail of their services, they were excellent. We did visit around, went on the schooner trip around the bay, booked by our hosts, but our main objective was to rest before our return home, and we fully achieved that. Finally, and most important for us was the staff, from Filipe in the reception, to Luis and Miriam, to the cleaning lady that always welcomed us with a smile (I am really sorry I never asked her name) and kept leaving dark chocolate in our bed, and everyone else I don't know the name, you do an amazing job in welcoming people to your facilities, and it makes all the difference! Thank you!
