Very friendly hotel staff. Starting with our hosts Korá and Paulo who immediately made us feel welcome and home. Then André, the chef, who prepared awesome dinners at any time (it was even possible to ask to have something from the kitchen long after 22:00. Bruno made excellent cocktails. And Caio was taking care of preparing incredible breakfasts with a view. This place is one of a kind. After all my travels I cannot remember to have been to a place such like this. The catagory "Boutique Hotel" is an understatement. It is just the perfect hideaway in Rio, in walking distance to a very nice beach as well. When I am in Rio de Janeiro again I will always consider going there again.

The property is so so beautiful and overlooks the coast. The staff go way above and beyond to be helpful, and they do a very customizable breakfast spread with such a nice view. The location is also nice if you want to be outside of the hustle and bustle in central Rio but still want to easily Uber in. Also a great spot for people who are driving down the coast to Paraty or other coastal locations.

In the photos it looked like there was a pool but it seems to have been converted into a koi pond which is still super pretty, but we were a little disappointed not to have the pool we thought would be there given the fantastic weather. I'd also recommend getting a room that's not the most basic one. It was the last one available so we didn't have a choice, but we could hear people moving around above us in the early morning and it was difficult for my partner who is a light sleeper. I don't think the other rooms have this issue.

I had the great opportunity to stay at the Cliffside in March, and I have nothing but praise for all the hotel staff. From the first contact with the hotel, I was treated with politeness and professionalism. The hotel has an excellent location inside a community with 24/7 security. The room had a beautiful sea view and was extremely clean and comfortable. Every member of staff I encountered, from check-in to cleaning staff, was outstanding and always on hand to help me. The restaurant had a wide variety of food; I enjoyed meeting the chefs Leonardo and André. They were attentive, with a wide array of dishes to choose from. Finally, I want to thank the owner, Marcelo, whom I had the pleasure of meeting and talking to during my stay. It was very clear that his goal was that each guest’s experience was nothing but phenomenal, something he accomplished with my stay. I will definitely return to Cliffside more often and recommend it to everyone who wants to go to Rio and have a more relaxing and catered experience.

Cliffside is a one of a kind architectural and design marvel, with an unbelievable view and very attentive and kind staff. The in house chef and spa services were lovely. If you are looking to unplug someplace gorgeous hidden away from the typical tourist experience, then this is the place for you.

The property/home a bit hidden in a luxury gated community. That makes the area safe, but it also makes it a bit hard to find and get to. I had several Ubers cancel on me or tell me they wouldn’t pick me up/drop me off there.

Beautiful view from one beautiful room. Everyone was extremely nice and accommodating. We really enjoyed the breakfast on the balcony of our room. Paid for the couples massage in our room as well.

Nothing to do here. It wasn't worth the price ($550/night) for us to stay if we have to leave the property for drinks, meals, beach or anything. Service charges were added for everything (we had also tipped the masseuses & chef Andre)

I normally do not give reviews. But the Cliffside Hotel was a very special and extraordinary place to stay, calm with a great view and you will only hear the waves (and some helicopters passing by ;-) ). Old architect building with a special Charme. Thank you for this stay and the warm welcome from the team around Paulo, the lodging manager, Gerson and Chef Andre (great individual food!). Great team, always helpful and in a good mood. We will definitely come back. If you want to escape the intense atmosphere of Rio for a couple days, this is the place to go. We loved our stay at Cliffside boutique hotel. Waking up to that view and wave sounds is priceless. Paulo and Gerson made us feel comfortable and were of great care. This is a beautiful Hotel which exudes style. Marcello the owner is lovely and very kind and good company. This is a hotel that has a deep Brazilian cultural heritage for Achitecture and design/ music. You feel like you're in a James Bond film here. The chefs are superb as are the rest of the staff. This really cemented our love for Rio and Brazil. Where you stay- absolutely matters. This is one place you should make time to stay at. When I visit Brazil again i'll be staying here.

How about a stay in an architectural icon, a place deeply steeped in local music history, an oasis of calm and impeccable service. All this you will find at Cliffside. Every single staff member was amazing, the place is super clean, has some of the best views in town, and is quiet and tranquil. The food is amazing, and you wont need to stick to a given schedule. The chefs whip up something for you any time, and it will be delicious. All in all, the perfect getaway.
