Service of personnel at the pool disappointing. Felt like ignoring us for supplying water where other guests were served. Kidsclub disappointing in activities and there is no entertainment personnel. As a parent you have to stay with your child. For a quality hotel like the Empire is supposed to be I would expect more. Buggy service was disappointing. One event where we requested a buggy and although we were first in line the porter started helping another family that arrived and drove away with them. A 2nd event was where we ordered a buggy and after 15 minutes still no buggy arrived. For all these comments come down to a lack of attention for the guests.

I was mesmerised by the hotel interior design. Very grand and beautiful. The staff were polite. I like my room. It's facing the sea. I like the bathtub. The bed was cosy. Halal food. They have souvenir shops inside the hotel. We can kayak around the swimming pool. Free for first 30 minutes. That's good.

Very pricey (expensive). Could have options with complimentary breakfast included. Could have some cafes or shops in the seaview building.

Excellent customer service and a beautiful hotel. This is a resort which has lots of facilities such as the country club, cinema, golf course, restaurant / cafe and boutique shops. This property is huge and you can get free buggy rides to various locations at the resort. Food prices are very high (up to double or more) considering what the equivalent would be in restaurants / eateries outside the resort. If you do not mind the price and would prefer dining in luxury with amazing views then it’s the best place in Brunei to experience it. Location wise it was great for us because we needed to be close to the hospital which was the main reason for staying. However if your aim is more for sight seeing it is further away from the town centre and no shops are walking distance. The closest outdoor food courts are in Jerudong Park (theme park) and the price of foods here are a lot cheaper. There is also a restaurant and McDonalds at Jerudong Park if you are looking for a change. You will need to sort your own transport arrangements. The concierge can help book the taxi which is less than $15 Brunei dollars to Jerudong Park. Airport transport is $40. There is an app called dart which is an option for cheaper transport similar to Uber.

All was good and no complaints for our stay.

The room was big and clean. The sights around the hotel were amazing. The kids enjoyed the 5 pools, playground on the beach and indoor playground. Kayaking was fun! The breakfast buffet was awesome with a wide variety of food.

The toilet did not have a hose, but it did have a bidet next to it.

Breakfast was great. I did feel like the selection of cheeses was limited though. Also, the pastries were a bit dry and did not taste fresh. The best parts of breakfast was the view, what a lovely space to sit and eat. The beef curry was also good. The yogurt, cereal, eggs, buns etc was all delicious. Service was good considering how busy it was. Very friendly staff in the breakfast area. We had lunch at the pool and I have to say the food has much improved since last time. The fries were perfect. We loved the huge pool and we were out there most of the time. Spaggettini was also amazing! We also enjoyed the ten pin bowling. Our room was huge and the bathroom is to die for with a spectacular view.

There was absolutely nothing that we didn't like.

The hot & cold heater is not user friendly especially for young kids, it will caused burnt injury for them. It actually happened to my kid.

A luxurious hotel with expansive common areas and spacious rooms. Stunning pools, a superb spa, and excellent restaurants.

If you have a debit card, be prepared for some extra hassle with room service. You'll need to go to the restaurant first and pay for your meal upfront, as they won’t just take your word that you’ll settle the bill for a steak. And don’t expect them to bring a POS terminal to your room either. At the beach, there’s no lifeguard, but there is a sign that says, “Beware of crocodiles!” That’s when it becomes crystal clear: swimming is strictly for the pool only.

All the reception desk staff and concierge are very helpful and friendly. The food is excellent. The whole facilities of this hotel and Its services are more than excellent. This is a very luxurious hotel. The 24 hour bakery is perfect. Their Cinnabons are the most delicious I ever tasted. The merchandise in the shops are very diverse and affordable. The rooms are very spacious, cleaned twice and the mini-fridge beverages are free and includes biscuits.

Pool is magnifique! Scenery fantastic! Pity that beach is not suitable for swimming. SPA is excellent! People has a great attitude to serve, very humble.

The F&B is a disappointment overall. Wherever you go or eat at anytime of the day, the food is 5/10…. The menu sells dreams and when food comes it is a joke. Buffett disappointing as well with lots of asian (chinese/ malay) options but far away to please a western. The Empire is still the best hotel of Bandar by far… the overall hospitality industry in Brunei that is far away from international standards in terms of F&B and service.
