We certainly chose the right hotel. It was clean, amazing staff particularly Carlos Brito, Wilker Carvalho and Domingos. Very friendly, attentive staff. The setting is beautiful right on the coast. Lots of beautiful flower and palm trees. The breakfast is fantastic and full of variety and good products. They make fresh omelettes every day. Location is good, 10 minute walk to the beaches which have restaurants overlooking the coast, the Plateau and also Praia centre. The bar is quite nice, sometimes very good live music and always playing the football. Overall 100% satisfied and will definitely stay there again if we go back to Praia again.

The gym should be redone. Most machines don't work.

We arrived in the middle of the night and were the last to pass the border control (took us more than 1 hour, so you'd better fill your EASE 5 days before departure :-) but the driver of the shuttle was still waiting for us, that was very reassuring. The check-in was fast and efficient. As often in Africa, you have to pay your room on arrival. The breakfast buffet offers a good choice: lots of fresh fruit. Enjoy the pool (salty water) and have a drink from the pool bar. The location is good: you can walk to the city center (Plato) and to the beaches and restaurants at Prainha and Quebra Canela. If you don't want to walk, there are always taxis waiting for you at the hotel.

We had a room close to the reception and with a lot of guests arriving in the middle of the night walking to their room ... (not all trolleys have "silenced wheels"). Our room was a bit dark, with limited lighting.

The hotel was really nice, in the Embassy area so very safe. Food was really good, we had half board and the dinner at the restaurant were delicious. Pool was big but with salty water.

Not much for kids. Also the beach near the hotel was not the best. And city centre (plateau) far away and there is not really much to do. Not related to the hotel but an heads up, a guy Juvenal stops you at the next beach proposing to go for a tour with him. He says lunch is included and he speaks good English. Don’t go, he was drunk from 9 am and continues to drink nonstop till 6pm, he even vomited in front of us and didn’t pay the lunch not even for our kid. Luckily we were in a group so we still managed to visit something by our selves while he was only getting the rum and the beer at every stop. And luckily there was another driver who was driving. I was shocked tbh. Careful !

The cuisine in the restaurant was very good The staff there were also polite and smiling The best impression on me was the live music in the restaurant - the performer was top and contributed to the nice evening the bed was big and comfortable

The price-quality ratio of the hotel itself and the room in particular The sea view from the first floor was actually through a three meter wire fence and contributed more to the feeling of a prison In reality, with similar furnishings, this hotel would be a hostel or a one-star hotel in Europe, respectively, and at a completely different price

It's nice and quiet hotel, I stayed for new year here. Room is big and what's super luxury for Cabo Verde - there is hot water in shower! Food was great, breakfasts and this new year dinner, everything was fresh and very tasty. Also there is a little swimming pool with sunbeds around. And also it's super safe, the hotel location is inside embassies area

Well, I would say that it costs too much for 4*, but considering you are in Cabo Verde - it's usual. The "seaview" means you have a view on construction and fence and a little piece of water. But it was a quiet side. BTW if you choose the pool view or smth, you will have a little terrace with table and chairs. As for the new year- everything lasts till 23:30 and.. that's all. If I new that I probably won't choose this place for new year night.

Great breakfast, with variety of fruits, bread, juices and pastries. The room was very clean. Staff were very polite and respectful. The pool was great and, in general, the hotel had a great atmosphere.

The room we stayed in was located in a side where you could hear the wind. At times it sounded like we were in the middle of a storm. Too noisy. I suppose rooms located by the pool didn’t find it so noisy. Although it had a gym, I expected better conditions (it was a bit dated and neglected). I liked the hotel, but I was not impressed and I wouldn’t repeat it. Too expensive for what it offers.

I was choosing between here and the Barcelo. Really depends on your preferences. I chose the Pestana because it had a larger room at a much lower price and it was quieter in the evening. The staff were generally nice and helpful. There is an ATM onsite. The Barcelo’s rooms were more modern, more staff spoke English, some of the views are better, and it has a good onsite restaurant. However Pestana is literally a 1 minute walk away and you can use the same restaurants and Prainha beach. So ultimately was definitely worth it. Breakfast was solid.

Had a strong smell of cleaning liquids in the room. I had to air it out. The pool was way over-chlorinated, I had to get out quickly.

Loved the saltwater pool, the lush greenery and the very decent scenic background music. Relaxing at the pool always felt very good. A huge array of fresh fruit and juices for breakfast! So delicious. The beds were very comfortable. I also liked the little sitting arrangement in front of my hotel door. The room always kept quite cool, even if the AC wasn't running. Taxis are available just outside the hotel. Alugueros and busses stop at the main road, just 3 minutes away. If you want a real beach, it's a five minutes walk. The food at the restaurant is extraordinary! I absolutely loved the grilled tuna and my brother really appreciated the braised pork ribs.

Some minor issues that will probably be fixed, once more tourists come again and staff gets more training. -no fresh water bottles in the mini bar after the first day -no place at breakfast for a family of five -pool chairs could be disinfected -pool could use a deep cleaning

The location is very good, close to Praia down town. Spacious room, good breakfast for stays up to 7 days (breakfast menu hardly changes), room cleaning every day, nice pool and beautiful courtyard of the hotel. We liked the attitude of the junior staff (cleaners) to the guests of the hotel.

We did not like the attitude of the senior staff of the hotel, especially in the restaurant during dinner. The neighbor in the next room smoked in the room for 5 days. We lived in adjoining rooms with him. After a request at the reception to talk to this client, it was promised that the receptionist would talk to him, but the situation did not change during these 5 days: the next room neighbor continued to smoke all 5 days. The smell was horrible especially during night time and not possible to open window.

As soon as we arrived, I recognised the place. I had popped in for a beer on a previous trip while exploring the area on a layover to Maio while staying a mile or so away. The property is in an excellent location for the local beaches. The hotel has a large pool which was not overcrowded and seems to be focused to a business clientele. Breakfast was a typical buffet affair catering to most needs. I did like the Cachupa! Our room was very large. An ideal location to explore the town of Praia and the surrounding areas.

We felt that sometimes the bar staff could be more attentive as had to ask a few times to be served drinks. A small observation in that my wife did make comment when we checked out that the bathroom towels were threaded and tatty. All trivia stuff.
