We had a truly enjoyable stay at Hotel Central Santa Maria. The location is perfect—right in the centre of town and just a short walk to the beach, shops, and restaurants. It made exploring Santa Maria incredibly convenient. The staff were the highlight: friendly, helpful, and always ready with a smile. They made us feel genuinely welcome throughout our stay. Our room was clean and comfortable, with a good bed, air conditioning, and a balcony. The Wi-Fi worked well, and we would like to convey special thanks to Lucy, who was extremely helpful and a lovely lady always with a smile. Very courteous and friendly. Breakfast was simple but satisfying, with several options to choose from. While some areas of the hotel under renovation, everything was well maintained and functional. Being centrally located, there can be a bit of street noise in the evening, but nothing that disturbed our rest. Overall, it is a great value for money and a charming place to stay if you want a more authentic, local experience in Cape Verde.

Hot water in the bathroom was extremely hot, and cold water pressure was low.

All staff members were very helpful, no matter the time of day. The breakfast was more of a continental breakfast with different types of breads, cold meats, cheese, yoghurt, eggs, and fruit. My bed was very comfortable and my room was very spacious. With air conditioning and a balcony. The feel of the hotel and the decor of the hotel was nice. Minimalistic but very effective. The location is within walking distance to the beach, local shops, bars, and restaurants. And last but definitely not least. The staff surprised me with a cake 🎂 and sang Happy Birthday to me. Definitely a birthday to remember as they made me feel very special 🙏🏽❤️ I would definitely recommend this hotel as a solo traveller.

The water was leaking outside of the bathroom and it was wet until the next morning cleaning

Very nice design (if you’re into that sort of thing?). The room was spacious and there was more than adequate space to put luggage away. Staff were very attentive and helpful. The driver was waiting for me on arrival. Also very nice that they helped me arrange a lovely restaurant to have my birthday dinner and a small cake and ice cream was provided which made me feel welcome. Breakfast was delicious and filling, usually kept me going till dinner time on most days. The tv was a smart one so I could connect Spotify and Netflix. AC was remote controlled and efficient (very useful).

Very attentive and helpful staff. The hotel is new and everything looks clean! The location is perfect since it's right in the center of Santa Maria and a short walk from the beach. A perfect option if you want to avoid the resorts!

Just a tip: it's missing a line to hang the wet clothes in the balcony. Also some fruits at the breakfast would be great.

The room was big and comfortable, the location was good, close enough to the beach, shops and restaurants.

The woman serving the breakfast was extremely rude and a bit crazy. She was quite aggressive, and the last day I was there got into a fight with reception. She was fired the same day. The personnel for the most part was quite nice, especially Luci at the reception who was very professional and accommodating.

It was clean, comfortable, pretty, classy, not fancy. A short walk from the beach, but near by houses, stores and restaurants of locals, which makes it a very authentic and enjoyable experience. We also stayed at other places closer to the beach, with views and pools, but with a very touristic and artificial environment. Breakfast was simple but good, serving omeletes and different style eggs on demand. Great value for money!!

Always someone at the reception, the girls are incredibly kind, good breakfast also for vegetarians, very central ( 1 min away of Calema pub) and few minutes from the beach. In the last day (now) they prepared the breakfast early and fast just as we have the time to eat before our flight ( and we didnt even asked for).

A very pleasant environment with very friendly, professional, and helpful staff. Check-in and check-out were professionally handled. My room was spacious and clean, with a very comfortable bed. In my opinion, it’s probably the best place to stay in Santa Maria. I loved the location. All the local points of interest are within walking distance. 

The nicest staff I have ever encounter in an hotel. Always with a smile on their faces, super helpful and kind. Good breakfast, perfect location on the center of Santa Maria, always clean beyond expectations and really comfortable.
