Location and staffs.

More of a feedback on the clean up on the beach. There’s rubbish come in from the sea 2-3 times a day (property has no control over), they do clean up what’s washes up onto the sand. But it would be better to clean up the rubbish at the water edge (surf) with some sort of scooper line the one you use to scoop leaves out of swimming pool. Even with the floating rubbish coming in the water is clear and clean. It’s just that all the tourists like me picking up rubbish floating in the water every time you go in. Morning and late afternoon are free of rubbish in the sea though.

I stayed at the WHITE SAND ARK RESORT for 10 nights am not going to go into great detail as you have to stay there to understand as the staff from management to the house couldn't do enough for especially Tim,Anna well all the staff to be truthful 10 plus say no more

Absolutely everything was absolutely stellar during our one week stay! So very difficult to have to leave yesterday. The location couldn’t be better on the quiet side of Koh Rong and right on a beautiful white sand beach with crystal clear waters. The amenities on the beach were a major bonus. Quality lounge chair / umbrella set-up, cool water shower, life jackets and food and beverage service all in a tranquil setting where the sand is raked throughout the day to put the cherry on top of the basking at the beach experience! Probably should have started by referencing the simply outstanding hot breakfast buffet every morning which they change up daily and has so many yummy treats as part of the splendid mix. And what a beautiful and comfortable eating area to enjoy eating and/or lounging at during any hour of the day. Furthermore the dinners are exquisite! White Sand Ark might just have the very best chef and kitchen on the island! The rooms are comfy with Japanese style mattress (and decor throughout!), a quality shower and AC and the view of the ocean is also clearly a highlight. Last but not least … Anna and Tatiana (and all their staff) are THE VERY BEST!!! They put 110% effort forward at every moment of every day to assure that the whole experience at White Sand Ark is nothing less than first rate. Anna actually booked and paid (on her own personal bank card!) for our water transfers off the island and subsequent van transfers to Phnom Penh (obviously I repaid her!) when our transfers were cancelled last minute by the provider and my bank wouldn’t allow me to make online purchases from abroad. Who does that sort of thing in this day and age?!?! Well … the owners of White Sand Ark do! What a beautiful display of goodwill in today’s world where such displays of truly caring and selfless support are rare at best. THANK YOU FOR ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING WHITE SAND ARK!!!

Nothing at all!

When we arrived at the hotel it was around 11am and far too early for check in, which is normally at 2pm, but this was not a problem for them and they did not charge us more for an early check in. We were informed that we were going to be upgraded from the Garden Room to the Beach bungalow and while we waited for them to complete the clean up of the room, we were given a complimentary breakfast. So, we had a wonderful welcome and immediately felt their generosity. The bungalow opened immediately onto the beach, with white soft sand and clear blue sea. It was like paradise. The chef was very talented and every meal we had was delicious. On our last day, the owner/manager, Alex, recommended the fresh fish pasta which was amazing and he also provided us with a complimentary glass of Samai (Cambodia Rum), also very good. We had been travelling around Vietnam and Cambodia for 4 weeks and tasted some wonderful food during that time, but I would say that the fish pasta we had on our last evening at White Ark sand, was the best meal we had during our 4 weeks away. We found Alex to be a very kind and generous man who welcomes people like he is having them in his own home, instead of running a business. All of the staff were wonderful, Alex, Jakob, Tom and all of the other unnamed and unseen staff, especially the chef, who keep the hotel running so well. Always more than happy to help us and make our stay as wonderful as possible. Jakob made a lovely cappuccino!!!

In order to get to the bathroom, we had to leave our bedroom and then step into the bathroom which was just outside. This was an issue when we needed to use the bathroom at night. The bungalow could do with a lick of paint and some minor repairs. We visited at low season, so it was quiet and not many other tourists around and not much else to do, but that suited us, as we had been travelling around a lot and needed a few days to chill out. I'd imagine that it is more lively and busy at high season.

Look no further White Sand Ark resort is fabulous from the beautiful location to the immaculate comfortable rooms with stunning views over the ocean. The extra bit of magic is the attention to detail the whole team work so hard to ensure your stay is perfect the beach itself is kept pristine with not just sun beds and parasol but beach towels volleyball and table service. The breakfast is undoubtedly the best and finest array comprising of western and traditional cooked but also fruit salad yogurt pancakes fresh fruit freshly brewed coffee like I said they really do go above and beyond nothing is to much trouble this is a truly special destination

Fabulous hotel overlooking beautiful beach. Lovely staff. Interesting breakfast options. Great restaurant.

It's not the hotels fault but a lot of plastic gets washed up on this beach. The sea is beautiful but you have to step through a layer of floating debris.

For me the Ark was an oasis of beauty and sophisticate simplicity, location paradise. I felt very welcomed and was impressed by the attentiveness, thought and awareness of detail being invested in the experience by the staff, who were super helpful. Evening meals on the beach were a delight also and the breakfast is great

White Sand Ark Resort is fabulous and affordable! The ocean view from the top rooms was better than imaginable ( no decks but big sliding doors so you can see the ocean from your bed. The grounds/sand out front are miticulously raked and the sand is so soft it squeaks when you walk on it. The restaurant food is great (smoothies are so yummy!), big buffet style breakfast that was included with room. Both Anna and Tanya were always helpful and friendly despite the long hours the work! It is a great location on the island if you don't want the business of Koh Touch.

My review is for one of the standard rooms on second floor. Bungalows may be different. The hotel is difficult to rate, as it consists of two very different parts, the rooms and the common areas. Our room was extremely basic, small with 2 (comfortable) futon beds on the floor, an open shelf with 3 hangers, safety box and a mini fridge. The bathroom is a wet bath which gets flooded every time someone takes a shower. In short: the room is only good to sleep in. The big pros are the location (right on the beach), the excellent restaurant, the absolutely fantastic breakfast, the comfortable sun beds, the cleanliness and the friendly and attentive staff. I would stay there again anytime.

The steep spiral staircase which seems to consist of rust only and will later collapse sooner or later.

The food menu is really inclusive with vegetarian options. Food is super fresh and delicious, breakfast was also great including home made jams, yogurts and locally sourced fruits. Location is amazing easy to get around on your own to the snorkel spots, restaurants, shops, hikes and other tour operators. There are bike rentals close by to rent scooters to explore $8 half day $10 full day. The sand on the beach is cleaned for rubbish daily and is the whitest sand we’ve ever seen. The resort takes sustainability seriously with no plastic, safe water refills and no plastic straws, they also are the first resort to be zero waste and recycle. The beach is really safe to swim and nice and calm in the mornings. The staff are really kind and welcoming and met us at the harbour. The dogs and cats on the beach out the front are really gentle and tame and are well looked after. The beds are pretty hard and on the ground futon style and the aircon wasn’t great but did the job. The bathroom is a wet room it could do with some work as everything gets wet and was a bit smelly. Make sure you visit this side of the island it was paradise and super relaxing.
