Because it was the hottest day of the season, we skipped our first night here because there is no A/C. So we stayed on the west coast an extra night. We ended up staying two nights instead of three in this very comfortable room. Our hosts were very welcoming and made sure we had a fan to use. The bedroom was super clean, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was nice. The room was very well appointed with great attention to detail like lovely soaps in the bathroom. Great water pressure and plenty of hot water and a nice soaking tub. The shared kitchen had all the basics and we appreciated the microwave to heat up leftovers. The location was great for us as we wanted to spend a day at the Raptors and another day on Salt Spring Island. Our hosts told us about a beautiful hike nearby at Stoney Hill Regional Park, so we did that in the late afternoon. That hike was a highlight for us. It was a great hike with views out over the water to Salt Spring Island. Breakfasts were lovely as others have written. Recommended!

Air conditioning would help on the hot days like we encountered.

Oh my gosh the warmth you feel from the hosts is exceptional and they truly want to make your experience memorable but also are extremely aware of giving you privacy. The breakfast is above and beyond in both taste, presentation and quantity. This was perfect for us two friends wanting to spend time together but also wanting our own space. We simply loved the details of our rooms coupled with the magnificent garden that you can tell is a labour of love. I will tell everyone I know how fantastic this gem in Maple Bay is - thank you for your hospitality as you are not only 5 star hosts but very genuine individuals who care about their guests! We also met a lovely couple in the room next door and heard our hosts drove them to the location of where there event was - so kind and again above and beyond!

Honestly it was amazing - maybe a higher end coffee experience? Not essential but I am a bit of a coffee snob but in the end I would come back 10 times over and just bring my own coffee lol

The Maple Rise Guesthouse is an oasis in the beautiful Maple Bay area of the Cowichan region on Vancouver Island. The guest suites are private, beautifully decorated, with an incredible view of the garden and bay. The bathroom is large with both a soaker tub and large walk-in shower. The complimentary breakfast is incredible both delicious and healthy. The shared kitchenette is well stocked. The hosts are available but not invasive. The location is on the edge of a large forest preserve with abundant trails for biking and hiking. There is wifi and a smart TV available for use. The guest house is close to the marina, two good restaurants, the Hand of Man Museum, the Raptor Center, and and entrance to Mt. Tzouhalem Park.

The location is a bit out of the way so be prepared to either drive, walk along country roads with minimal shoulder, or bring enough extra food for lunch/dinner. The kitchenette is not sound proof and one can hear conversations from the other guest rooms; however, we couldn't hear them from within our suite.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Guesthouse with my family, and it was an experience that exceeded all our expectations. It offers not just a comfortable stay but incredible breakfast each morning! Our family was staying for a wedding nearby. If you have an event in Maple Bay, it is the perfect location! From the moment we arrived, the warm hospitality from Lauren and Gerry made us feel right at home (their communication was also awesome before we had even arrived). The rooms were impeccably clean and beautifully decorated. The bed was very comfortable and ensured a restful night's sleep, and the room felt quite cool despite being warm outside. What truly stole the show was the breakfast!! Each morning featured a different array of dishes with fresh juice and coffee that was clearly made with love. We loved our stay at Maple Rise Guesthouse and can't wait for an excuse to come back! Nothing - everything was fantastic!!

Owner was friendly and greeted us upon arrival and discussed breakfast routine for each day, and the ringing of the bell was perfect to let us know our meal was ready and waiting for us! The meals were superb, so healthy and delicious! The beds were comfy, and the property and view was gorgeous. Location was not even 5 minutes from venue.

Was a busy time with a sports team staying in other 2 rooms, so parking was a very minor hiccup on only one occasion and nothing we couldnt figure out. Kids weren't keen on the 3 or 4 spider visitors, but what kids are anyways?! Other thank that it was delightful!

Perfect getaway! Delicious breakfast, lovely hosts, gorgeous backyard, and peaceful surroundings made our stay unforgettable.

Plan ahead: grab groceries before arriving, as the nearest town is 15 min away. Shared kitchen: so don't forget to label your food if you require a fridge. A pub is near by, didn't get a chance to try out the pub, but heard from the other guests that was also staying during our stay and said it was good.

The breakfast is an amazing as it looks. The hosts were able to accommodate food allergies as well which was very kind of them. Beds were very comfortable and the view from the patio was great.

There is quite a bit of noise transfer from the shared kitchen to the rooms and the neighbours next door made quite a bit of noise the first night in there. Room to room there is more soundproofing

This is an exceptional place. The owners are very hospitable and friendly. The breakfast they serve is delicious with some of the vegetables and spices grown in their own garden. It is a peaceful setting with a very nice view. I was able to meditate, contemplate and produced a lot of quality work during my stay, which I really needed to do. From the coffee in the morning to the comfortable bed, I would stay here anytime I could.

Breakfast was superb. The room was lovely and opened out onto a beautiful garden with magnificent views. I love having breakfast with the humming birds! Easy access to well equipped kitchen.

Although the area around the guest was pleasant enough, there wasn’t much there. It felt rather isolated

It was such a treat to stay at Maplerise Guesthouse. The breakfast, accommodation, our experience and host were superb. It is a little tucked away which made it special as we experienced the local's secret paradise and eateries recommended by Lauren. Loved our stay here :)
