I have stayed here before in a cabin. I needed a place for my friend and I to stay while visiting family in Caribou Island. I was looking for no fuss, clean and comfortable place to spend the night. Bed was comfortable, sheets were clean( drove by while staff was changing sheets). Shower had great pressure and the room was ice cold when we arrived, the outside temp was in the 30's so this was amazing. Proximity to grocerystore, liquor store, gas, and fast food was great for our early departure to PEI ferry. I will return next visit. We had a Queen delux I believe. Room was huge.

I arrived early and hoped to check in but staff was busy cleaning rooms.I talked via phone and arranged a late check in with an approximate time. Office was locked again but they did arive quickly when called. This is not really a negative because they had called me earlier to get a time frame.

The Owners were so helpful, accommodated my request to leave my 2500 Truck and cargo trailer while I rode my motorcycle to Cape Breton prior to my stay (Wedding of my son). After checking in, I accidentally caused a TV remote change...they responded quickly. Towel changes etc were offered.

The carpets are worn down. Other than that, Motel was serviceable for my basic needs!

Location. Walking distance to supermarket, fast food, liquor store. Close to PEI ferry terminal.

A bit light on kitchen facilities. Only 2 paper cups, not replenished for 2 night stay. Shower: Hard to shut off cold water tap entirely. Tap dripped and wasted water. Impossible to stop water from getting out, even with curtain inside. Had to wipe floor repeatedly to dry the floor.

Overall, very nice. Except the building was somewhat old, and renovations aren't completely finished yet, but one supposes when all is finished, it will be exceptional. Beds are very comfortable in the two bed suite, one firm, the other soft, so there's that choice which made it very convenient also.

The bathrooms have new fixtures and appliances, but could use a coat of paint. That being said, one supposes that that will happen when renovations are all done.

The place is basic and in need of updating, but that was more than made up for by the care and attention displayed by the staff. We arrived at 11.45am, several hours before check-in time, shaken up, having had a car accident when exiting the ferry. The staff at Lionstone we brilliant, they set aside a room for us and checked us in straight away, so we could recover. They leant us their phone - free of charge - so we could make lengthy phone calls to the car hire company. Then they made sure we knew how to get to the repair garage. Thank you, Lionstone!

Location is great. A girt walk to the pier . This was our second time, while it is older and needs some upgrades it’s a great place to stay. People are friendly. We forgot a hoodie and they were kind enough to mail it to use. Excellent service 😄

It was clean and comfortable. It's a little bit dated however that adds to its charm. The price was right and the young man who checked us in was so kind

Very friendly & helpful staff. Good facilities & location. Nice clean linen.

Little grubby in places @ beds were a bit too firm for us.

Friendly staff. Quiet neighbourhood. The jacuzzi was a unexpected bonus. Easy to use and great to relax after a lengthy drive

No breakfast of any sort. Too far to walk downtown.

The honesty and the refound regarding the shower without hot water, generous. Being able to walk to the center of Pictou. The service was friendly and charming and honest. Clean enough for an ordinairy motel on the road.
