We often use Pembroke/Petawa as a jump-off spot to enter the backcountry of Algonquin Park. Over the years, we have stayed in many spots that feel like a fishing camp. Not the Knights Inn Colonial Fireside. The rooms were very clean and comfortable for a short stay. The staff were super helpful as we sought a safe place to secure our canoe prior to a pending strong storm. The hotel is located close to Tim Hortons (lol... a must), stores and restaurants.Two thumbs up.

Only two concerns. (1) No bathroom soaps are provided, and (2) our room connected to another room via an internal door. The door was paper thin, and we could easily hear the conversations of the next room occupants. Some soaps in the bathroom and an insulated door would alleviate those negatives

We really liked the manager of the hotel. Super friendly and kind. Also, given that it is classified as a budget 2-star hotel, I think the room was extremely clean, the bed was very comfortable, and therefore, it was excellent value for the money. You can tell that they are putting effort and money into keeping the standards high. We've stayed in 4-star hotels that haven't come close to this friendliness, cleanliness and comfort.

Very strong chemical cleaning smell when we entered the room. I'm senstitive to fragrances and toxic cleaners, but I also understand that there are cleaning standards that have to be met.

The location was convenient for our drive through Canada from Michigan to Maine. Hotel was easy to find and easy to navigate. We arrived late (around 10:30pm or so) and the staff were so welcoming and friendly! We got upgraded to a nicer room and we truly appeciated the generosity, especially after a long day of travel. We were greeted at teh door of the office when we checked out in the morning with a smile and kind words and "Thanks for staying and safe travels!" We'll definitely plan to stay here next time we drive through!

hotel was very clean and staff was very accommodating. Definitely would stay at this hotel again.

since Im have reactions to certain scents..there was air fresheners in room but staff was quick to help air out room and make it confortable for me.. next stay I will advise ahead of time to remove all air fresheners...my fault for not letting them know.

I was traveling with my pup and booked online. When I arrived at the Inn, the gentleman at the desk notified me that he didn't have any pet friendly rooms for what I had booked. He upgraded us to a very big room with tons of space and a nice fireplace ( without discussion ). The bed was so comfy, and the pillows were heavenly! I was very impressed with the room. I would definitely recommend this location. If I am ever traveling this way, I will be sure to rebook again.

Half of the motel looked a bit older like pre renovation but we didn’t stay in that section. We also noticed garbage left by other group was left out for a night. But it’s understandable and not the owners fault.

Very nice room with fireplace 2 queen beds and queen sofa bed too. Was a great price with exceptional staff. Really enjoyed the room. Nice and modern, clean and even had a full size fridge and microwave. Definitely recommend Knights Inn. Will stay here again next time we pass through.

There was nothing to dislike. My family enjoyed the stay.

The manager/owner at the front desk was excellent, he was friendly and welcoming. I booked this room for a quick 1 night stay during my travels, and If it wasn't pet friendly I wouldn't off considered it. I have a lovely dog who travels with me and I only stay at Pet friendly hotels, so kuddos for accommodating. The bed was firm and comfortable, the room was clean and overall it was a good night's sleep. I felt secured (there were no obvious "partiers") and I really liked the flowers out front, shows pride of ownership.

I wish they had a small hand soap dispenser in the bathroom.

The bed and jacuzzi (in bedroom) were lovely and clean. There was a clean working fridge/freezer and microwave and large tv. The couch was very comfortable. Windows that opened at both ends of the room. Blackout curtains worked well. No shortage of hot water. Fluffy white towels (for use with the jacuzzi) attractively presented in a basket on the bed. Nice bright lights and large mirrors. Spacious room with tiled floors - very clean. Large clean bathroom with bath, shower and hair dryer. Did not hear a sound from the room next door. Very quiet and peaceful. Parking right outside our door. Fast food was short drive away. Very reasonably priced compared to similar rooms in other establishments. Very kind and caring person who checked us in. Helped us solve a problem with our car key and offered to drive into town to get us another battery if we needed it (I have never experienced this type of service before).

Zero complaints - we were totally satisfied with the room and the service.

the location was good and the room is very spacious. the price was good... bed was comfortable. Nice to have windows that open for fresh air

there was no breakfast. a bottle of water in the fridge would be nice. A few more towels and toiletries. the building is under renovations and will be great once completed.
