The location was great as we travelled by car. The property was very clean and the common spaces were lovely. Alex was a gracious host and provided useful tips about visiting and parking in Quebec City.

We were a little disappointed by the breakfast, especially since previous reviews raved about it. On our first day, there was no fruit or yoghurt although on the second day both were on hand. The range of choices was fine, but the items were basic supermarket packaged products.

Beautiful quiet location, ideal if you travel with the family or by car. About 10 minutes from Quebec City and close to many other attractions in the area with easy drive to île d’Orleans, Basilique St. Anne de Beaupre, Chute Montmorency etc. A great IGA supermarket with local produce is close by too. Property itself is very cozy, well laid-out and super clean. Breakfast often includes home-cooked items that are absolutely delicious. The hosts are very hospitable and helpful, can recommend a lot of places to visit in the area and are wonderful people. We’ve been to La Princesse des Champs twice and will surely come again.

The room was very clean and was a nice size. The view from our room's balcony was great. However, the balcony can be accessed from the kitchen area (which was next to our room) and the other guests could look into our room. The breakfast was excellent. The hosts were very kind and attentive.

The shower and the bath linens! The shower was very small with an approximate size of 24x27. The towels and washcloths were poor quality and did not smell nice.

Beautiful setting! Enjoyed the balcony over the river out back. Rooms were clean and everything we needed was there. Easy access to Old Quebec.

It was wonderful to have access to a kitchen and fridge. I don’t believe there was anything written in the original write up that guests had access to this. Wish we had known. Other than that, everything was wonderful!

The location was excellent as we were in Quebec City to spend Christmas with my brother and his wife. This is our second time staying at this Gite. The last time it was summer and it is very close to the bridge to L’isle d’Orlean, so we spent time exploring this wonderful island. It is also not far from the centre of QC so very convenient location for a great stay in QC

Nothing really. It served our needs very well

Everything was great. Alex and Elena were wonderful hosts. They have a beautiful place, with amazing views--even on a foggy/rainy day! Their breakfast was delicious and set us up for the whole day. Boischatel is a great base from which to see the sites...Montmorency Falls, The old city, the ski hills in the other direction...everything is an short, easy drive away. When I needed help getting our car repaired, Alex made the call for me and basically saved the day. When my wife needed help with sewing, Alex gave her a needle and even threaded it for her! In short, he and Elena always came through for us, with whatever we needed.

The only area they might look at improving -- and I don't know how they could do it -- is in the pre-breakfast prep. I'm not talking about the food - it's wonderful. I'm talking about the sounds that can be heard in the beautiful main room, just outside the guest rooms. We're not early risers 😄. But we are fine with breakfast being served at 8 am. It's just that BEFORE that time, if there's talking and food prep sounds (and there were), then we were woken a little earlier than we would have liked. But, this was by no means a deal-breaker and, weighed against everything else, is insignificant. We give Gite La Princesse des Champs a 9/10 rating. If they could solve this one tiny issue, then it would be 10/10 for sure.

Hosts are extremely accommodating, helpful with giving you tips where to go or what to see. They also would prepare breakfast themselves. Excellent omelettes any style you want, fruit, toast, marmalade, cereals of any kind, te, coffee, milk , juice.They have an antique wooden stove that is a jewel. Open areas , plenty of seating in separate small tables or a large one for family or to mingle with other guests and also a spacious outside deck where you have a drink later in the evening with a splendid view of the river, the island and downtown Quebec at a distance. Beds are very comfy and everything is clean and tidy. Nice furniture and accents all around.

I think the shower was a bit small. Had to dry-off outside the shower and towels where also a bit small. I am 6.2 FT and size L, but my wife is petit and she also thought the same. It is however, not a game changer. Also, it is very hard to find a decent restaurant close by. There is a great supermarket, very well stocked which has a deli and prepared food, quite trendy, about 5 minutes driving distance from the place, and a McDonald's a mile away maybe. That's it, so plan ahead accordingly. You definitely need a mode of transportation here.

Alex and Elena were wonderful hosts, providing a generous breakfast, clean and comfortable rooms, and good advice on places to see and things to do. The common area was a great place to relax after a day of sightseeing and the view was absolutely amazing.

The room was comfortable and tastefully decorated. The B&B located on the slope of a hill a, which affords and amazing view of the river, Ile D'Orleans, and the city off to the west. The neighbourhood is quiet and there is a supermarket (IGA) close by, in case you prefer to buy some read-made dinners and eat in. We recommend doing so and enjoying the panoramic view.

Beautiful little B&B, very kind hosts, lovely view over the Saint Lawrence River. Breakfast was delicious and generous. We liked everything about our stay and only wish we could have stayed longer.
