It’s absolutely beautiful, like a tourist attraction on its own with its own history and culture, residing on a very large compound facing the West Lake, with beautiful landscaped gardens and villas. As we stay at building 7 which is far away from the main building 8, we are glad that there is a reception at building 7 which makes it very convenient that we could get taxis and do our checkouts. The room is beautiful. The toilet floor is heated and so is the toilet seat, which makes it comfortable to use in winter. There are luxurious accompanying toiletries and room facilities. It is a perfect resort to relax in with a private part of the West Lake to enjoy. To get to other places, one would need a taxi as the attractions are rather too far to walk. But it is possible for taxis to ride directly to the building where we stay which makes it convenient.

You'll feel like a king staying at West Lake State Guest House. The absolute best place I've ever stayed in my 50 years of life. You'll see that many world leaders have stayed here because of the traditional and beautiful property and grounds. The breakfast was first in class. Walking around the grounds is a joy in itself. Security and safety is of utmost importance to the hotel and it shows.

I needed a tutorial on how to operate the toilet seat. Had so many features an options. It was pretty advance. I didn't know how to turn off the feat feature. Controls were in Chinese and I couldn't figure it out. Probably showing my age a bit on this.

Incredibly beautiful location on the west shore of West Lake. Beautiful grounds - like staying in a nature park / Chinese Garden. Breakfast was an amazing bounty of Chinese and western dishes - everything was fresh and expertly prepared. Great location for visiting the West Lake region.

Is very beautiful hotel and lovely gardens with Chinese water lily ponds. Situation right at West Lake, the views are spectacular. So serene and calm anywhere you walk in the garden. Staffs are very professional, efficient and helpful. Food at both cafe and Chinese restaurant are very tasty and creative.

West lake is one of our favourite places. The State Guest house is exceptional in every way. Incredibly beautiful garden, perfect management, great comfort, wonderful food and very helpful and friendly staff. The information about the property in the room is very helpful. We were pleasantly surprised to find so many culturally and historically important points. It is a serene, uplifting and inspiring place.

Best secluded location in hangzhou west lake area. the place is kept in pristine condition and staffs were all friendly and helpful. The food was excellent, the prices were reasonable. Guess room was spacious, clean and well maintained

Brilliant location, thoughtful and helpful staff . Specially thanks to staff Chen Jie ( 陈洁）delivered the little gift to the room, make us stay more welcome. The unique way of delivery kid’s package is best way to cheer up the kids travelling with adults. It is very impressed and excited to start holiday in West Lake State Guest House.

We got free upgrade to a building 8 room - was very spacious and quiet, amazing views from the balcony. Breakfast was really great value and delicious. The whole area was just very beautiful. I would definitely go back and stay again!

Beautiful garden with traditional Chinese themed architecture and hotel rooms. Highly recommend that you take a morning stroll along the west lake. I would definitely come back again for vacation!
