Everything in my package was excellent. Overall, a wonderful stay! Special kudos to the cheerful and friendly cleaning lady who ensured we had a tidy, comfortable room to return to every evening after our touristic explorations. The movie hall next door was a location perk. I can't comment on the food, though, as I chose a no-breakfast package and didn't dine at any of the hotel's restaurants. Appreciated the early check-in too.

I'm sure a 5-star hotel like Crowne Plaza attracts many foreigners who would like to experience Chinese culture. In light of this, I request that the hotel provide Chinese films with multilingual (or at least English) captions on the TVs in the rooms. Also, sometimes, the corridors on the 8th floor where I stayed had a strange, musty odour.

As a Muslim, finding suitable halal food when traveling is always a challenge. However, my stay at the Crowne Plaza Shanghai was truly a pleasant surprise! The front desk staff was welcoming and attentive, check-in was quick and efficient. I especially want to praise the hotel's dining options. I was surprised to find halal food here, and it completely met my dietary needs. Whether it was the mushrooms and flatbread at breakfast or the hummus during dinner, the ingredients were fresh, the food was well prepared and very delicious! I was deeply touched by the chef's understanding and respect for the halal culinary culture. I highly recommend this hotel to fellow Muslims who share similar needs. Staying here provides peace of mind and a comfortable stay. Definitely a Five-star rating!

I enjoyed the noodle station. I had a bowl everyday and never tired of it since they offered three types of noodles and the toppings were good choices. The other foods were fair. Everything needed flavor. The location was ideal and close to many shops and restaurants. Getting a taxi or walking was easy.

I was disappointed in the Congee. It was mostly water and some rice on the bottom of the pot, no flavor. My last time in Shanghai was at another hotel and they had three kinds of congee; all 3 were fabulous. The Dim sum offerings were disappointing, I did not try any. The staff could be friendlier. Maybe smile sometimes.

The theme of the hotel is movies as it's attached to a cinema and hosting some film festival since more than 20 years. That has a nice vibe to it. The hotel is rather in good shape and for 2 people actually a good choice. There's plenty of restaurants just around the corner and best part is that you can easily walk right into the french concession area which is a must-see in Shanghai

They rent the same room for 3 people that they also rent to 2 people. That effectively means that you have the exact same room configuration, i.e. 2 single beds! We were assuming that it would be 1 double bed and 1 single bed or at least that one bed would be a french bed with 1.4 m but no. You have to squeeze together in a single bed of a width of roughly 1 to 1.2 m.

To my horror I two days before arrival discovered that I had accidentally booked for 2 nights with arrival one day early! All my worries evaporated when Alice Lu in Reception, and Gert Van Beek, Guest Relations Director, swung into Action and worked out a change of dates, which meant that I lost nothing and had to pay nothing additional. Thanks a lot both to of you - swift and decisive action very much appreciated indeed! Tony Shan who works tirelessly to solve every issue for arriving and departing guests also deserves special mention. First he spotted a taxi driver grossly overcharging me and later helped me secure quick and reliable taxi bookings. Thanks a lot Tony! Having been to Shanghai many times, this was my first time in this particular area, but it for sure will not be my last time, as the hotel sits smack in the middle of a quiet and private, yet very central and incredibly desirable area with many cozy restaurants and shops - just off HuaHai road and easily accessible by metro line 10.

Close to convenience stores and restaurants. The roadway in and out of the property was wide enough for two vehicles. The staff made sure the path was always clear. Breakfast was good, but expensive.

The cost of drinks in the bar was outrageously high. Could have bought an entire bottle at the store for what 2 drinks cost. Breakfast was overpriced as well.

Old-school style and vibes in a GREAT location. Many excellent restaurants right across the street. Having said that, the hotel's own all-day dining restaurant is excellent. Located in a very walkable part of Shanghai with relatively light traffic and good supply of taxis.

The tub-shower is the weakest part of the room.

The location is excellent ! I can get anything which I like from a very short walking distance. We especially like to have a evening walk around French Concession. We are looking forward to our next visit to stay at the same hotel in very near future!

It would be even better if the cleanliness of the bathroom can be improved.

Good spread but the cheese was not topped up daily after the early morning eaters took the cheese. Room service in room 1607 was very good the auntie who cleaned our room was very good. The gifts from management in our room were nice surprises. Food and drinks given complimentary

Could have topped up the breakfast cheese more regularly. The cheese could have the wax layer trimmed off before serving.

Helpful staff.Smartly presented facilities. Good eating options. Clean Good location easy access to Metro and excellent eating options nearby.

We could have had a little more help with the menu in the restaurant unfortunately our waitress didn't speak much English.
