My stay was absolutely amazing! Their rooms are nice and comfortable. Their view from the restaurant balcony is so so beautiful. I wanted the hotel to leave a Happy Mother’s day note for my mom, but the stuff went above and beyond. They decorated the room with balloons, petals, a special candy bouquet for my mom and a beautiful card. I was not expecting all of that. My mom was so surprised and happy with all the attention they gave us. The food was delicious and we were able to enjoy the pool table, tejo equipment and the little bar they have. I really want to thank the hotel for their amazing hospitality from day one until the last day. They treated us like family. Thank you Angela Gutierrez, Johan Piedraita and the rest of the staff for making my mom’s mothers day weekend the best one.

Good located just next to the big stone, everything was spot clean, staff very nice. I definitely will recommend.

We chose the Zócalo Campestre Hotel because it is located close to the main attraction of El Peñol. We were very lucky not only with the location, but also with the hotel staff! Natalie, the hotel manager, was always in touch and helped us with all requests and questions! Thank you, Natalie, Johan and Eduardo, you guys are not just professionals in your field, you are wonderful people! We are glad that we chose to stay at your gorgeous hotel!

The cabanas are gorgeous and very clean. The views are incredible, but it is the staff that make this place so special. A friendly welcome and cups of coffee on arrival after a hot dusty ride from Medellin, and when I wasn’t feeling well they assisted in changing our onward reservation and the chef made me a delicious broth. We looked after so well throughout our stay.

We didn’t have a hot shower. It wasn’t a major problem as it was warm during the day so we showered in the afternoon. It’s near the helipad, so probably best avoided weekends. We were aware of both of the above before booking from reading previous reviews and still enjoyed our stay

I had an excellent stay! The location was perfect, making it easy to explore the area. The service was outstanding, with staff going above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. The facilities were well-maintained and offered everything I needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. I couldn’t be happier with the experience—highly recommend this hotel!

The view from our cabana was fantastic (all cabanas seem to have views). The view from the main lobby and restaurant area were even more spectacular. The breakfast was good to give us a great start to the day. The location was great, next to La Piedra and near center of town. The staff was wonderful. And you can drive up to the cabana and park next to it if needed.

The cabana interior was ok, basic -- it's comfortable and clean to sleep in but not so pleasant that you would want to spend lots of time in.

The location is amazing. You have a great view of the Piedra de Penol and an amazing view of the reservoir. Just be aware that the property sits on a steep hill so walking up or down the property is a bit of a hike, the receptionist was a great help in helping me request a tuk tuk to take me up to the rock or to the town of Guatape. I had breakfast and lunch at the restaurant and both were great. The cook was very friendly and even showed me the guayaba plants and explained the different varieties they have there. The room was very spacious and there is a mini-fridge which I appreciated. The first day I showered I thought there was no hot water, but the second day I realized I turned the knob the wrong way, and the water came out hot! Overall, I'm very satisfied with my stay at this property.

The place is offering amazing views of the lake below and the rock above. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. They really made an effort to make our stay pleasant. Even got us to play some traditional Colombian games! Definitely recommended.

It seems that seeing Guatape by helicopter is a thing and there's a helipad just below the hotel. It's noisy and stinks of kerosene each time the helicopter takes off or lands. We were mostly bothered by it in the afternoon, though. Haven't had any night or early morning chopping, not sure if that was an accident or a rule.

Absolutely gorgeous views of Guatape from anywhere in the Hotel Complex, and when you are done looking down at the lakes and greenery, you turn around, and the big Rock is there! Best view to accompany breakfast, a meal, or a beer! Really polite and helpful staff! Would have stayed longer if I could!

The staff is amazing and very helpful. Everyone is very pleasant and works hard to make their guests feel comfortable. The family cabin was comfortable. Located right next to El Penon. The views are beautiful from everywhere in the hotel and we really liked hanging out on the hammocks

Steep hill to the property, tuk tuks do not have enough power to go up. One with mobility issues may find the location quite challenging. Was t an issue for us, but still we were out of breath coming back up to the hotel when returning from town. Town is about 10 -15 min ride by tuk tuks
