We specifically chose this place for the nature and birds. We stayed in the el Abismo bungalow. The bungalow is spacious, has its own wifi network and offers great panoramic views.I even spotted a tucanet from the bathroom window.It is furnished with care. The property is quite big, and has trails that lead you to unexpected hidden spots (e.g. a barbercue, or a small waterfall). A lot of effort has been put in landscaping with small ponds and water cascades, lots of flowers and plants. Some plants specifically attract humming birds. The spot is a bit out of the city and not well known to taxi drivers, but no worries-the hotel has its own trusted driver and the drives to the city are very reasonably priced! Staff is very helpful (although not all speak english). The restaurant offers limited, but tasty choice of meals. Highly recommend if you want to immerse yourself in nature!

Hot water sometimes took longtime to arrive, but guess that is normal considering the location of the bungalow.

We opted for a cabana, which was amazing! Private, with a balcony including hammock, and only a short walk to the main building. The shower in the cabana was open to the outside to overlook the valley, which made for an incredibly refreshing experience. We walked the trails on the premises, which afforded an incredible diversity of plants, and great bird watching too. The included breakfast was wonderful as well - two simple options - the eggs or french toast, and both were delicious with nice local accompaniments. We also had dinner at Paraíso Verde which was excellent too.

The cabana wasn't completely sealed to the elements, so we saw some of nature (mosquitoes, etc) lodging with us. But that is part of the experience, so we are ok with that, but wanted to let other travelers know.

They went above and beyond our expectations First of all this is a beautiful location with the most amazing garden including paths to walk along. Wonderful eye for detail in their decorations and how they set it all up. Second of all the staff was very kind and helpful. Unfortunately we had some food poisoning from a location before the staff were so helpful caring for us. Even making home made chicken soup! We spent 2 nights and a full day here (too sick to leave), and I actually enjoyed just hanging in the hammock and spotting the various birds come by. Definitely recommend this place for nature and bird lovers and people looking for a nice quiet place to stay.

I heard a few people mention about the bathroom being separated from the room. For me this was clear when booking the room, and you still had a private bathroom. If this bothers you, go for the upgrade with bathroom attached. 😉

this place lived up to its name, Paraiso Verde. we loved staying here, it was so peaceful and relaxing, surrounded by beautiful gardens and humming birds zipping all over the place. There is a bus you can catch from the top of the drive that takes you into the centre in around 20 mins. the staff were really friendly, and Yeny was very helpful to us when we had a medical emergency. all the staff at Lodge Paraiso Verde seem to be very happy. The breakfast was good, including fresh fruit. we took our evening meals there which were excellent and reasonably priced. we would love to return to this place one day

Beautiful and peaceful setting overlooking the valley. We had one of the bungalows and waking up to a view of just trees through the big glass patio doors was heavenly! All the staff were friendly and helpful especially Jenny who speaks very good English. She arranged a takeaway for us one night as there was no food available at the lodge. Excellent bird watching and four lovely walks from the house. Good breakfast and good meals in the evening. We didn’t have transport but enjoyed just relaxing there with a pool table and a honesty bar and hammocks.

Incredible vibe, eco lodge style setting so close to Manizales. The lodge feels like it is in another world all its own. Many options for room or cabanas. The restaurant was very cute with amazing view and excellent food. The staff was extremely kind and accommodating. They let us check out late so we could do unexpected computer work in the lovely common room. I enjoyed hiking around the mountain on their trails. This place is fantastic.

We’d prefer mosquito nets in the eco lodge environment and then would feel more comfortable leaving the doors and windows open at night.

Incredibly beautiful setting, with amazing views. I planned to stay here one night while in my motorcycle tour through Colombia, but the setting was so nice, I stayed 2 nights. The first night I spent in the lodge in a room with a private bathroom and balcony, which was very nice. The second night, I moved down to one of the bungalows, which was even better….. very private and quiet. It was like a piece of heaven! I highly recommend this place. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the food was great.

This is an absolute gem. A person has the beautiful cultural city of Manizales 15 minutes by on or can but it is a natural paradise with large grounds beautiful trails and over a hundred different hummingbirds. The finca is a preserved historic teeasure and the staff made me feel like I was part of their family, even invited me their sons birthday for cake. The people, nature and ambiance are pure Colombian Paisa.

This is a real paradise. You will have a chance to wake up to the sounds of birds like you never heard before. The bungalow is a must, one of the best experiences in my life, it is surrounded by nature, and is designed to perfection. The breakfast is AMAZING, and the staff is very smiley and will help you with anything you need. They also have a shared kitchen you can use yourself. And there are 4 short hikes right off the hotel, you can go and explore the nature around it. The location is right outside the city, 10m drive by taxi from the center.

The location is fantastic! The hotel is surrounded by forest, and we saw a rich variety of birds from our balcony. Our room was lovely and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were cheerful and friendly.

The restaurant has a limited choice (pizza and pasta) and not much typical Colombian fare. But maybe that suits some travellers.
