This place is beautifully designed and the waters are tremendous. Very refreshing and enjoyable. It's a wonderful place to spend time lounging in hot springs. The food is quite good and the views are lovely.

It took over an hour to check in! When we arrived there were only two parties in front of us, yet it took us an hour to get assigned our room, which we couldn't find because the place is a bit of a labyrinth. Finally a maintenance person assisted us. The intake process seems very cumbersome, but it was also slowed by interruptions from people who had arrived before us complaining that their rooms were still not ready. There was also a long line for checkout each day, which we avoided by leaving early.

Here’s a polished and eloquent review for your stay: My recent visit to Termales El Otoño left me with mixed impressions. On one hand, the property is absolutely stunning, offering breathtaking views and an ambiance that truly reflects the beauty of its natural surroundings. The thermal pools were a standout feature—immaculately maintained, providing a serene and rejuvenating experience that is second to none. The suite I stayed in was spacious and comfortable, aligning with the expectations one might have for a high-end resort. However, certain operational policies detracted from the overall luxury experience. I was surprised to find that drinking water was not readily available in the room, which felt like an oversight given the resort’s premium pricing. Additionally, the requirement to return towels before receiving new ones seemed at odds with the level of service expected from a five-star property. Such a policy, though likely driven by operational considerations, does not align with the seamless and guest-centric experience one anticipates at a resort of this caliber. While the location, thermal amenities, and aesthetic appeal are truly remarkable, these service gaps are worth addressing to ensure the experience matches the premium brand image. Despite these drawbacks, I would recommend Termales El Otoño to those seeking a picturesque and tranquil escape, with the hope that future stays will reflect refinements in service that enhance the overall guest experience.

Excellent grounds with many beautiful plants. The area around is quiet and green. Several choices of pools and water temperatures. Breakfast buffet had many options. Food in the restaurant was well presented and tasty. Staff members were very professional and helpful. Although not many spoke English, they were ready to translate on an app or find someone to help. Which guaranteed a clear communication. There is a lovely chapel and peaceful garden on site.

The restaurant service was slow even when there did not seem to be many guests. The road from the city to the hotel had several potholes. Temperatures in the room and restaurant were very low at times so make certain to bring cold weather clothes.

I stayed 2 nights in one of the Campestre Superior rooms near the small church & I loved everything about Termales El Otoño. The property itself is lovely, filled with plants and flowers, and there's a lovely mountain view from the terrace of the main building. I arrived at an unbusy time and was treated to an orientation tour of the property. The restaurant was terrific. I particularly enjoyed the delicious seafood (the fresh trout was excellent). My biggest (positive) surprise was how much I enjoyed the hot springs. I was recovering from a badly sprained ankle. What a pleasant surprise – the hot springs are quite accessible for those with mobility issues. Many of the hot springs have handrails, and all have manageable, (and not slippery) steps. I felt completely safe and comfortable getting in and out of the hot springs. Best of all, that volcano-heated water really helped my sprained ankle to heal. Looking forward to my return. One piece of advice – Villamaria is in the mountains and can get chilly – bring a sweater or light jacket, along with basic rain gear.

Everything was good.

The common areas at the hotel and the hot springs are excellent both in terms of design and maintenance. It’s a stunning location, too. We were there from Wednesday to Friday, so it wasn’t very busy, which was perfect. The staff at reception and the restaurant were friendly and helpful. I’d definitely go back to soak in the pools and take in the beautiful mountain views.

The check in process was surprisingly slow; there wasn’t a line, but it still took us at least 20 minutes to check in. (Maybe we had a trainee helping us at reception.) We weren’t particularly happy with our room. We stayed in one of the “Double Deluxe” rooms, and although the beds were comfortable, the room seemed dark, had less furniture than you might expect, and wasn’t in great shape (including some water damage and/or mould on the walls). Fortunately, as you’d expect at a hot springs hotel, we spent most of our time outside of our room.

The thermal pools are incredible, set in an amazing tropical Garden. Using them during evening/night is fantastic. All the property is very beautiful, but the main building is particularly stunning. Breakfast was great, buffet style with lots of choice.

Cool water pools are beautiful, but so cold, it is not possible to use them during evening at all. Our room, while spacious and super beautiful, felt also a little cold, especially after using pools in the evening. The whole area is extremely beautiful with all the tropical plants, but it is so huge, it is sometimes hard to navigate and find all the poolls,...it would be better to get more directions from the reception ať the check in. Also, the procedures at the reception could be faster. In general, it would be nice to be able to get sime drinks at pool bar from real menu and person, not to have all the time use your phone.

Lovely thermal baths in a garden setting. Our cabana was nice and had a fireplace we didn’t use and a small private thermal pool. The beds were super comfortable with quality linens. The staff was attentive, fresh towels were always available.

At dinner the first night there were a lot of unbussed tables and the steaks were either over or undercooked after being ordered “a la punta” “at the point” (of medium). You’ll likely have better luck. I’d recommend the kitchen use a meat thermometer. The pasta carbonara was good. The third night we went into Manizales and found an amazing restaurant called Ednia

This was a great stay! We stayed in one of the newer buildings, so it had clean and spacious rooms and super comfy beds. The thermal pools were amazing, very relaxing! Breakfast was great too.

They probably admit way too many people on daily passes, so it can get very crowded for the amount of pools they have. They should definitely change their towel policy, it´s very cumbersome having to go down to the lobby to get new towels each time! Probably easier if each guest got a robe, or just two towels in the room per person, so one can be used for the pools and the other one can stay in the room for showering. The faucet on the bathroom sink was TERRIBLY built, it would spill water all over every time we opened it.

We like the staff friendliness, the facilities and the different areas of thermal pools.

Something that could be better, is the rooms amenities. The hands towels are too small, like facial towels, they could put bigger ones. Given the fact that it’s a place for being in the pools, there could be in the bathroom a cord to hang wet swim suits. Also for being a suite there could be more amenities, for example, bottled water as a courtesy to the guests.

The property was exceptional—from the relaxing hot thermal pools to the outstanding restaurant and top-notch facilities.

The only discomfort we experienced was with the bed, which was quite firm. After we requested assistance, we believe they added a mattress topper, which made it somewhat more comfortable, though the beds can still feel quite firm.
