Magical location in the mountains, spectacular views, very short walk to Salento. We stayed in a private ego lodge which was beautiful, spotless with stunning views from private balcony. We often received complementary drinks and teas which were delicious/innovative, delivered to our room. Staff were so friendly and knowledgable. We did a morning tour of the grounds with Johnny which was excellent - he is so knowledgeable and the retreat grows a lot of their own produce. Luis was able to book all our transport and give excellent local recommendations. The food was exceptional! Some of the best we had in Colombia. I had a full body massage which was great. They have two adorable friendly dogs who we adored - they are very well trained and calm so do not worry if you don’t like dogs. Thank you for such a wonderful stay! We will be back!

The location is top tier, the food is amazing, and the available activities were excellent. Luis checked us in and was a great host. He offered us an extra blanket and a heater for the night. He told us he could arrange a ride for us to get back from town if we wanted. We did the full day activity plan, and Yeiner was our guide. He told us all about the history of cocora Valley and went out of his way to make sure we had a great time. The town felt very safe and there was more to do than we had time for. We did the horse ride tour to the coffee farm and learned a lot about the processes of harvesting and preparing coffee. The horses were happy and well cared for. The room was as beautiful as the view, and the bathroom was large and stunning. I want to make Kawa hotel my go-to vacation spot. The whole staff was amazing, even the dog, Jacinta. Honestly I don't want anyone else to know about this hotel because I want to keep it a secret!

Everything, imagine yourself in the middle of a jungle in the mountains, surrounded by the most luxuriant nature. True paradise and such an amazing place after the constant noise of Cartagena and Medellín. Best place I have stayed in Colombia. The staff is absolutely charming, the food is exquisite. Talking about the room, it feels like home. I loved the fact there is no TV, and that everything in the room is harmonious. The hot tub outside is great after a day walking in the rain. I only wish I could have stayed longer … (still dreaming about that warm and comforting welcome drink ) thank you so much for this wonderful experience.

We had a great stay at the hotel. All the staff were delightful, friendly and welcoming . The trips suggested by Luis were particular highlights. My wife and I have taken various trips and tours all over the world. I would say without hesitation that the team were the most fun and friendly we’ve ever met. We did a horse trek with Gilberto (maybe Dilver) and he made everything fun. He also paid attention to how we were riding and the shortcomings in our capabilities! We loved our time with the horses especially as they were so well looked after. Our second trip was with a much bigger team - they were all delightful. They made the long car trip to the Carbonera so much fun, in particular Santi and J were really helpful and informative. I think you have a rare and wonderful group of people in your employ. Thank you all for a very memorable stay.

The hotel was lovely - no complaints.

The hotel is beautiful and has stunning views. You get the feeling to be away from town, though you really are close. Generally the rooms are comfortable and have the facilities you expect. The rooms get cool at night but this is clearly mentioned by them beforehand. The small heater does help to keep it comfortable Staff is great: easy to communicate with (face to face and via whatsapp) and helpful in arrangements like transportation

My bad luck probably due to the location of the room on the outside. One of their dogs is barking continuously (waking up from it at night too…). It took some complaining to have it solved, so at least my last day/night were perfectly natural. It might sound like this isn’t a big deal, but imagine in a mildly isolated cabin in nature. You want to hear nature and silence, not the barking of a domesticated animal. The hottub was being renovated. A pity, but these things happen to keep them up to date for future guests, so no big deal for me

The location and views are incredible. We stayed in one of the eco lodges and it was perfectly designed to suit the environment. The staff were incredibly helpful. Luis was so knowledgeable and made great recommendations for different activities - and even setting up the jacuzzi for us was a great experience. Our nature walk with Johnny was also a highlight, and it was great to learn more about the eco credentials of the property. Couldn’t recommend this place more - a very special experience.

We had a fantastic stay at Kawa Hotel in Salento. We really loved the surprising complimentary upgrade to a suite with breathtaking views of the valley. The staff was exceptionally kind and attentive, making our experience truly wonderful. The hotel offers many activities, we especially enjoyed the horseback riding and the hike in Cocora Valley. The free forest bath tour was also a highlight. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, teaching us about Pachamama and local biodiversity. We even had the opportunity to plant a young palm tree, Colombia’s national tree, which was a memorable experience. Morning yoga with view is a must. Overall, we loved our stay. Highly recommende

Absolutely beautiful hotel set above Salento with an incredible breakfast view across the valley. The staff were exceptional and very accommodating, breakfast was delicious, homemade passion fruit tea delivered every afternoon was a lovely touch. Very peaceful and quiet, felt really close to nature and we had a very comfortable stay all round. We also booked massages which were lovely.

Not a negative at all, but more a note to be aware that the short 7 min walk to the town is via a mountain path that requires torches- we had an exciting surprise when we bumped into an armadillo on our walk back one night!

This is the most coziest hotel you have ever been. We arrived and were told that we were upgraded in a super romantic stand alone cabin (originally we booked a room attached to the main building). The Mountain Views were incredible, there were seats and hammock on a private balcony, the shower was huge, you felt like it was another room in the cabin. The staff was incredible nice and helpful (with taxi arrangements f.e. ) we made one night a reservation for the hot tub/sauna experience (included for each room). The sauna looks like a big wine barrel and is in front of the main building, the hot tub is in front of the common room with a fire place and has also an incredible view of the mountains. We liked a lot that it was out and above of Salento but still in walking distance (10-15min hike to the main plaza) but you felt like you are away from this world. Breakfast and dinner was good but the location of the hotel is just out of this world

Hard to find something we didn’t like: the rooms didn’t have a safe but we never had the feeling that something could get stolen, some wine on the menu was not available but so what-we ordered another one. Breakfast selection is not huge but it is freshly prepared. There is not really anything to complain about

We debated staying here because it is the most expensive place we stayed in Colombia, but it was so worth it. The views!! The relaxing atmosphere, comfortable cabins, and the amazing staff all combined to provide a luxury experience that left us feeling rested and relaxed. The food and drinks were also top notch. I highly recommend treating yourself to a few days here.

Our cabin was at the top of a *steep* hill... Just an FYI that it's not that accessible if you have reduced mobility.
