The hotel is located beside the 7 tram line which is great for getting to the city centre in about 20 minutes from Marsdorf stop which is 5-7 minutes walk from the hotel. We were easily able to transfer in Newmarkt station or other nearby stations to go to Phantasialand, the Zoo and Aqualand ( all great). The breakfast was a highlight of the trip. Healthy choices of chopped fruit, bircher and chia coconut pudding. The usual fresh bread, buns, croissants etc and hot and cold meats. Our kids loved the pancakes and working the honey/ chocolate dispensers. Good coffee machines . Staff were very helpful and friendly. The pool is small but we had great fun in it with the kids. It was very popular with lots of use by guests. The hotel has a water dispenser in reception (still water and with gas/sparkling). This was great for filling up in the morning before heading out as bottled water is expensive in places like Phantasialand.

The TV in our room does not let you cast from your phone. The channels are all German understandably enough apart from news channels. It would have been great for the kids to watch something in English and casting from phone is an easy solution. I asked at reception and the person said it couldn't be done.

Excellent location, 5 minutes walk from the Metro to get into central Cologne. Easy to get to if driving, with plenty of secure parking. The hotel itself was lovely, clean and comfortable, and we all enjoyed the pool and sauna after days out in Cologne and nearby Phantasialand. The staff were so friendly, helpful and nice. The bar and restaurant onsite was great too, with lovely food and good beer. The staff were more than happy to chat and give recommendations, which added to the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. We would definitely stay here again.

Great breakfast choice, clean and tidy rooms, friendly staff. Stayed here to visit Cologne (an easy tram ride from the hotel) and Phantasialand, which is an easy drive. The pool was lovely and fairly quiet every time we used it.

Evening food in the hotel for kids - schnitzel/nuggets and chips was excellent, but the adult choice was limited and fairly expensive. There are a number of local fast food places though, so it was fine.

Hotel was very clean, staff were friendly, pool and breakfast were great. Main complaint is that the bed was quite hard. We had a family room, with the pull out couch (which had a topper on it) and the couch was more comfortable than the bed was. The pillows were also super flat and gave no support.

A nice representative of the Mercure group. The hotel is located in a nice green area near the Lindentaler Park with a lot of services nearby: a few grocery stores, artisanal ice cream shop, big toy store for kids, restaurants and fastfoods at the walking distance. ~25 mins to the airport with a cab, ~25-30 mins to the city center and main sightseeings by #7 tram. Overall it was a pleasant stay, the room was spacious and clean, equipped with a kettle, fridge and safe locker. Me and my family enjoyed the bathtube which is always better comparing to a basic shower. The selection of TV channels was surprizingly good. Didn't have a chance to use the swimming pool but I think it's good, I've seen a lot of happy faces coming from there :) Breakfast was decent and fair - great pancakes, nice selection of vegetables and fruits, omelette and eggs with some bakon and sausages available. The restaurant also has a kids menu, a nice selection of meat dishes, some traditional desserts and ice cream. Nice and steady renovated bar downstairs and a terrace outside - great place when the weather is good. GREAT RESTAURANT STAFF (greetings from Diana, guys).

Floors are quite cold in the room and some air drafts due to air conditioner location. Soundprofing is quite poor for a 4-stars hotel - you can hear the doors shutting and foot steps all the time - not a catastrophy, but a thing to improve.

Nice cozy hotel for a good price. Parking on site for 11 euros. There is a sauna and a small swimming pool, it is really hot in the sauna, there were almost no people in the evening and we had a good rest. There is a tram stop nearby which can take you to the center in 25-30 minutes. There are supermarkets across the road. In general, we were satisfied with everything and will stay there in the future.

We didn't go to breakfast, it was for a fee and we just had breakfast at the supermarket opposite. We didn't use Wi-Fi either. There is a TV in the room with German channels, I didn’t find out if there was YouTube there, but it looks like there isn’t, and there is also no way to connect a phone, but in general these are minor things. In general, for it's price there is nothing to say here.

Staff very friendly and excellent English. Very clean.

The children running up and down the stairs screaming and shouting because it echoed. My room 318 was opposite the lift and stairs. I had my dog with me and luckily she didn't react to the noise. Which could have been a problem if she had started to bark. 10 out of 10 for well behaved dog 0 for loud unruly children.

Location perfect for my trip and in general, the hotel is nice and quiet (and air-conditioned). Breakfast very good. Price-to-value also OK.

Loud and repeated slamming of doors at 07.00 in the morning (cleaning staff). I tried to talk with them, but it continued. Also the pre-check-in let something behind, but all in all an OK experience.

In general, it is a good hotel.

Unfortunately, we had a specific very bad situation there. I had booked a table for 2 in the dinner of the evening 24th December at 20:00. I was very explicit in confirming if they would be open this time (Christmas evening). They confirmed the booking, but when we arrived there, they said that they booked for mistake and the kitchen was already closed. We needed to have McDonalds for our Christmas supper, which made the experience in the hotel very frustrating.

The hotel was really good. Really nice rooms and beds. The breakfast was superb, plenty of choices and they never run out of anything. The staff was always courteous and really helpful, they make you feel that you are in a high standard hotel. I used the swimming pool and sauna and they are really well maintained and clean and a joy to use. They are not massive but it is perfect for recreational use.

Nothing to do with the hotel but at the moment we were there, the tram line 7 that is the main and useful connection to the city center was with repairs. That made our commuting to the center of Cologne a bit less comfortable and we ended up using a lot freenow and taxis (including an unpleasant experience with a local taxi driver that wanted to scam the tourist...). So, few advice for fellow travelers: - Don't be discouraged for the distance from the hotel to the city center, with the tram you are in no time and comfortable in the city center (the stop is just 5 mins walk from the hotel). - Always check the transport pages to be up to date with works, etcetera... - Don't trust local taxi drivers. Always use an app with a closed prices for your trip. Really disappointed with that.
