This hotel is really different from many noisy hotels in Marsa Alam area. There are no annoying sellers or tour guides on the beach. Nobody offer you to participate in a stupid animation event. There are no crowds in the restaurant. Well, it's great option if all you want is relaxing and snorkelling! You can just enjoy the beach, snorkel, eat and walk. Very relaxing. The jetty is great for snorkeling but there are many options for snorkeling right from the beach. There are no hotels around so you can walk freely and enjoy the desert. The hotel garden is full of birds. House reef is vivid and colorful with occasional turtles.

The highway is very close and sometimes you can hear the trucks. Sun loungers are a bit too close to each other to enjoy privacy.

I liked everything about Shams Alam Resort. The food was excellent, with a lot of variety including gluten-free bread, and desserts. The location was great too, fairly close to famous diving spots like Sharm El Luli and Dolphin Reef. The hotel has good facilities, like wellness center with hairdresser, an exceptional organic essential oil shop with lots of other authentic Egyptian art and souvenirs. The hotel receptionists are very helpful with booking trips and taxis. There is also a diving center and they make trips to beautiful reefs such as Hamadi islands and other amazing snorkling /diving spots. I loved absolutely everything. Don't expect a brand new hotel, it is one of the oldest hotels in Marsa Alam but well taken care of. Old but gold!

Nothing I can think of. I stayed in January and it was pretty calm. Some renovations were going on, so they kept on increasing the comfort for more exigent hotel guests.

The resort is 1-1,5 hrs south of Marsa Alam airport. I picked it for its smaller quieter atmosphere and found them to have excellent food and really friendly service staff. The property is located in a slightly sheltered bay making it possible to enter the water even during windy conditions. There is a dive center as well which runs two boats. It is possible to walk south for 1-2 miles without any other resort. Special thanks goes to Mohamed Saad / Aly at reception as well as the entire restaurant service team.

The rooms are basic but spacious and clean. The food was fresh and tasty, every meal you have different choices of meat or fish and vegetables from which you can choose from, and you have a wide range of desserts which are delicious. The staff is very friendly and helpful, they support you with everything you need. We even asked them to organize the transfer from the airport for us and it was perfect. The beach is just gorgeous and easily accessible for kids in different parts of it, you can see corals and fishes even swimming from the beach.

The whole structure would benefit from a fresh hand of paint as well as a bit more maintenance. Nevertheless it didn't bother us and the place is so beautiful and peaceful that you don't really care about it.

Excellent value, nice resort. We enjoyed our stay. Good food, they have ping pong, pool, and windsurfing. Good house reef. Saw a moray eel. They have beach boules. Rooms are comfortable. They had some shows as well - fire show, etc. Reasonable price. I recommend this resort.

WiFi is 2euros/30 mins, which seems expensive. We were given a downstairs room with no sea view - would have preferred a room with sea view.

Quiet place far away from noisy aquaparks, mainly elderly, European guests, so you can have your own space and listen to the sound of The waves. Friendly staff and excellent food. Dive centre near by, convenient jetty and boat dives available. They have their own divesites and usually we were the only divers around.

Prices are a bit high in comparison.

It's far away from everything and avery peacefull place. No noisy aquaparks. The view is great and the hotel is on the beach. Diving centre and jetty, too. The staff is very friendly and food is really delicious.

The rooms are already a bit worn out, but ok value.

Wonderful location with great house reef. Diving centre and boat staff like family, looked after us so well. Food much more varied than we expected, we ate like kings. Nice to have fresh beer, wine and espresso coffee available all day. Great value for money.

I expected the superior room to be like the pictures, upper level and beachfront. All rooms have sea view but some are set back and some ground floor so not much view. Standard rooms are one side of the resort and Superior rooms the other side but it would be better to price superior rooms as beachfront , upper floor with unobstructed view and standard rooms as lower level or set back rooms.

We loved the friendly staff, they were all nice and kind. We celebrated my birthday and the guys at the restaurant prepared a cake and a nice surprise for me. The location is also exceptional, the reef is literally at your feet and you can even see corals and colourful fish from the jetty. Although the weather was too windy some days, we used the spa and sunbathed, food and drinks are served all day and you can easily chat with the staff. The diving center is inside the resort, and you can rent for cheap prices all the appliance for snorkelling or diving if you have the license. The food is simple but there was plenty of choices, and a note to my Italian friends: la pasta e' cotta benissimo, chi si lamenta e' un pirla. Non puoi andare in Egitto e lamentarti che la pasta non va bene. Mangiatevela a casa vostra se proprio! I must say I had here the best espresso coffee outside Italy. Grazie ragazzi, a tutti: from the guys at the restaurant, at the reception (thanks for thinking of us when we returned for the long trip to Luxor, the dinner in the room has been really appreciated!!). We will come back asap!!

Everything , including the location just next to Wadi el Gemal National Park. it offers wide range of different activities including big dive centre , quad bike dives over the desert and desert safari . Stuff is friendly and always very helpful. food is amazing, doesn’t matter what dietary restrictions you’ll find something delicious. I’m vegan and had plenty of meal options.

quite poor and not free wifi connection, but maybe that’s better as you’re not stuck to your phone the whole time but enjoy the holiday for a change:) .
