Grandeur of Hotel, Reception area out to pool amazing. Breakfast was a definite 10/10, really enjoyed the various options available and the staff were friendly and helpful.

In room night service. Tried ordering drinks to our room but as it was after 12am, staff said they stopped serving alcohol than. Fair enough, than ordered food online from tablets provided in room, called Reception to follow up after a few hours (fell asleep in betw from jetleg 😁) only to be told they hadn’t gotten the order through. Abit disappointed although Reception assured me they could get it within a few minutes but it had lost its novelty by than. Otherwise, overall it was a pleasant overnight stay.

A real grand dame- dont miss it in Suva! You enter the hotel hall and you get the charme and greatness of a hotel founded in the last century. Simply georgeous. We stayed in a room in the new wing with wide balcony and a breathtaking view on the Pacific ocean and the Fijian mountains. Very good breakfast buffet included, tasty luncheons, candle light dinner, coffee/cake and ice cream cute little place in the front part of the hotel overseeing Albert park. Botanical garden and museum in walking distance. So is the art market and the city. All this combined with extremely friendly, always helpful hotel staff who will go the extra mile to fullfill your request. Simply The Best!

The historic architecture of the establishment is exceptional. The staff are extremely well-trained, highly professional and make a major contribution to the 5-star rating. The food is of the highest quality, and the atmosphere is very soothing.

The spa is in need of renovation. The changing rooms are not very clean and outdated for a 5-star hotel. Nice dirty marks on the bedroom doors, dirty marks in the elevator. The sofa was pushed into my room. There's a lot of work to be done on the details of the hotel's furniture and finishes. But having said that, it's still an exceptional place to stay in Fiji.

Wonderful colonial-style hotel. Lots of history, which is on display in the lobby. And very well located, directly opposite Albert Park and Thurston Gardens, close to Fiji Museum, on the main road leading through the city. Large rooms, well appointed - all the usual conveniences; very large shower with a lot of power and hot water; smart TV that you can Chromecast to from your device. Restaurant, bars and bakery were all top notch - delicious food and fantastic service.

Only quibble would be that the swimming pool is a little disappointing - just a simple rectangle, all one depth (apart from a small kiddie pool offshoot), and fully in the sun all day.

The effort made by staff Special mention for Alini ( Ihg staff must be a trainer or something)and Maona Both were exceptional in service Every staff was making eye contact and responsive

To be more organised especially on Sunday breakfast. There was no plates no cutlery no orange juice and no Leadership Staff mentioned above were not on shift Absolute chaos but staff were trying Also did not like tips that was written on all bills but was not passed on to staff Fiji has no tipping culture and multinational hotels are actually stealing from customers and staff equally The lift next to 215 looks jaded

Breakfast excellent; Victoria Lounge complementary canapés and drinks each evening a pleasant surprise; superb view from the balcony outside the Victoria Lounge. Evening menu for dinner very acceptable and reasonable prices. Rooms very quiet and mainly comfortable. Staff very helpful and polite.

Room not serviced until late afternoon, apparently staff directed to service vacated rooms first with the hope of re-letting these the same day. Sheets on the king size bed were far too short for the mattress at the foot. Not evident until one's foot became caught and investigated the cause.

Comfortable room. Dine-in was great, and fast service. Clean and quiet room. Loved that I was provided with bathrobes, slippers, and toiletries. The front desk service was excellent and very kind and friendly. Loved that the security guards were out front, ready to summon a taxi for me every time I go out.

Room service came knocking in the evening. I would have thought they would have done the room service during the day when I was out not when am in, in the evening, getting ready to go out. They came knocking for room service when I was dressing up to go out in the evening.

Breakfast was good, nice fresh juices, eggs benedict etc Comfy bed, nice and big Good aircon The BEST room cleaning service, lots of lovely nice touches, SO nice to come back to Nice toiletries included in bathroom (you also can order things from the ipad app eg dental kit etc) Good size room Spa on site for getting massages was great, pricy (as you expect in hotels) but super convenient Pool was OK, felt a bit odd having diners in the immediate vacinity when you are swimming, but it nice to take a dip after returning to hotel This is the best hotel in Suva in my opinion.

The general area, I would only travel here if travelling for work, the surrounding streets can be very dangerous (with warnings issued by govt)- definitely do not walk after dark on your own, this is not a fault of the hotel just a warning if you are travelling for tourist reasons. RE room service, their app that you order from doesnt seem to update when they are out of stock of an item which happened a handful of times.

Attentiveness and warmth of staff

Only credit cards acceptable to checkin, nil cash option. Lost time sorting card issue with BSP as only credit card acceptable. Even normal bank card not accepted for locals. All options available in other hotels. Location of dressing mirror right behind entrance door to room. Nil full mirror only half mirror. Kitchen Amenities too basic for the price paid. Just two small cups and saucer and teaspoon. Nil plates or Microwave to heat food or leftovers. Nil security/safety measures for lift use, as anyone can take lift to any floor by just pressing floor number...no card tap/scan required.
