This is a fairly small property with a significant distance to the beach that can be easily dismissed. But what they don’t have is exceptionally made up in other ways - the staff are awesome! EVERY SUNGLE ONE OF THEM. They work hard to make your vacation memorable. Shout out to Marco who always knew to pour a glass of vino tinto for my husband and just water for me. And Gabriela who cleaned our room beautifully. And the crew removing the pesky nest from our balcony. And the front desk for curtesy calls asking if there’s anything we need. I mean, they go above and beyond. And the entertainment- I stayed in multiple adults-only where the entertainment ended at 9-9:30pm with nothing else to do. These guys entertain you till 10:30 and all of it was really good! Transportation to-from the beach (and 5th. Ave) is always on time and very reliable. The Riu Lupita beach is just breathtaking with enough beach chairs for everyone.

My room was very close to the stage/bar area and the one evening I didn’t feel well I couldn’t go to sleep early because of how loud it was. Minor thing for me but if you’re one to go to sleep early ask for a room further away.

Optimus quality/price index. The main restaurant buffet variety was good. Beach and pools relaxing. Good also for family with children. Possibility of late check-out at an acceptable price

The bus is stricly required to reach the beach, but there are lots of them during the day and the trip is only 10-15 minutes.

Food was fab - especially the fish. All clean, staff very friendly. In same complex as other hotels, bus punctual for the beach. easy to explore from.

We love Riu hotels since we had been to RIU in Costa Rica a few years ago. Excellent choice of dishes. Nice beach with clean sea. Large and very clean rooms with a cupboard where you can find 4 large bottles of tequila, vodka, rum, etc., which are refilled every 3 days. There are capybaras and monkeys in the garden. Very friendly and courteous staff at the main restaurant.

Bartenders (men) should be more friendly. They look too arrogant and impolite. One of them at the beach bar pointedly did not notice some people standing in line. It looked strange.

Riu Lupita has an excellent staff that is very friendly and supportive. They are the heart of the hotel. The recreation team puts a lot of effort into creating an amazing and fun environment for guests. The bars and restaurants offer great service. Although the hotel is not close to the beach, the bus transport is always on schedule. It is recommended for families who love nature and being surrounded by it.

Riu Hotel rooms and common areas need renovations. The hotel is rated 5 stars, but its distance from the beach and outdated sports courts and rooms require construction upgrades, otherwise, the hotel rate is not accurate

meals & room

check in they wanted Mexican pesos but only quoted US & Canadian dollars. This felt like a scam as the currency change made the price $200US more. Also the bank counter at the hotel would not exchange more than $1500.00 US to each person. we found that very strange! Fortunately there was 2 of us or it could have been a big problem!

More hand washing facilities bathrooms or just fountains to wash hands Front counter was so/ so Taxi arrangements for pickup during checkout Needs Work .. not everyone wants to download the RIU app or use WhatUp app Spa message is no longer on grounds …let down 😕 No 🎤 Karaoke.. or really lousy karaoke machine by pool On Stage Entertainment was corny 🎭 bit nice to see ..

Very clean and pretty environment, with tropical animals near by, it's isolated world from playa de Carmen, they offer everything inside and full of activity program, on the beach kayak and panel are offered for free! There are snorkeling service of course with 5 star price as well!

Room is not very sound proof, if the neighbors are on TV, , one got it at the same time

The property was clean and peaceful. The food was good quality and there was a good variation everyday. The landscape makes the hotel very peaceful and the service was also on point.

Eventough the property was well kept, It could get a revamp to give it a more modern look. Also, I don’t mind animals around, however, I think they should be kept away from the night refrigerator and bar area.

i was ready to be underwhelmed by this hotel due to the price. however, the place was really good; the staff, the room, the food, the girl at the kids club. we had a really good time, we offer travel to the riviera and stay in other all inclusive s for higher prices and get bad food, drinks and service. it is also nice that everything is close, the beach was also really clean and free of sargassum. we will be back! the only thing I was surprised about was the fact that we did our checkout at 11 and more less invited us to leave. we have never experience this in any other all inclusive in the area, they would let you stay until you are ready. my kids were bummed to miss the pool foam party. 🥲
