Comfortable beds. Underground car park can be booked, but no pedestrian way to the hotel. Quiet despite the road and size of hotel. Fantastic castle and huge ancient tapestry in the town. Plenty of places to eat and drink in this lively town.

Restaurant seem to have a very odd "mystery" menu, where you would not know what you were going to be presented with, so we didn't go there. Big road outside. Tricky to find the door to the underground hotel car park down a side road and you had to leave on foot the same way you had driven in in your car.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful room and hotel beautifully appointed, well situated in the heart of Angers close to lots of pubs and restaurants. Lots of reasonably priced parking if hotel lot is full.

They ran out of scrambled eggs at breakfast, although we were last to arrive downstairs. I did did not complain as there was plenty of other things to eat. I'd imagine had I asked, chef would have rustled me up some. A symptom of how great the service had been

The staff! Extremely friendly. The restaurant where we had breakfast, a very beautiful room decorated by Odorico! The bed, very comfy. The overall decoration. The location, very convenient, close to the train station and city center. We did everything by foot but there is also tramway and bus station right next to the hotel. The park "Mail" next to the hotel as well. All in all very happy about our stay. We were even offered breakfast due to a technical incident with the kitchen during our stay (breakfast was still good despite the issue!).

It would have been nice to have paper and pen on the desk in the room. And the desk chairs were a bit too soft (not very firm) but it's a very minor inconvenience.

Highly recommended! Hotel location is great, short walk to centre square, restaurants and shops. You are well taken care of with Jumael during breakfast service, a delightful and professional gentleman. Delphaine greets you at reception warmly with a wealth of experience and knowledge of Angers, a true professional a credit to the Hotel and hospitality industry.

Room, one of the best in the hotel was very good, view of city fine, A/C useful. Good exercise climbing and descending the stairs to Floor 3, although there is a lift. Secure garage essential. Reception staff always helpful.

Breakfast was very comprehensive and enjoyable but a bit haphazard with frequent refreshment of food needed and crockery needing to be asked for.

We have been visiting this hotel for over 35 years and seen a number of changes come and go. I have to say I think the d’Anjou is going through a good period at the moment. The redecoration is tasteful and comfortable, they have some super staff and of course the location is great. The newly restored Art Deco restaurant ( which we remember being a garage!!!) is simply sensational.

The air conditioning did struggle a bit with high outdoor summer temperatures. It’s a pity the outside terrace is not maintained/ utilised more.. it looks rather sad ( oddly when we last visited pre covid we thought the same)

Room was excellent , modern, clean, everything needed. Our room overlooked the courtyard and therefore windows were kept closed. Otherwise lovely room. We did not have breakfast as we were leaving quite early and the price seemed a little over priced as it was only a continental breakfast. Location was great as only a short walk to modern shops and a town square with various resturants, which was just what we needed as only staying one night.

We wanted a drink in the evening and was asked to go upstairs as the restaurant was for basically people eating. Upstairs was OK but we were on our own, so no atmosphere, would have been better if was seated downstairs in the restaurant.. Although I understand, its more for people eating. Maybe the restaurant should be bigger if possible to cater for drinkers as well.

The room was very comfortable with a great view but .... the dinner with matched wines we had at the hotel restaurant was one of the most enjoyable I've had anywhere in France. It was an unexpected delight in a beautiful art deco room. The included secure parking was also very welcome :) Uniformly friendly staff in all parts of the hotel.

Breakfast was excellent. Location is superb. Staff are extremely helpful and supportive. Decor of the public rooms is excellent. Great value for money

The accommodation is of the modern minimalist style and the room is slightly small despite an upgrade. The dining room menu for dinner was too complex so we ate out.

What a beautiful hotel! The staff were outstanding, probably the best we have met on our travels so far. I loved walking down the dark moody corridor to our room, it had a fabulous 1920's feel to it and the room was beautiful and spacious. The location was excellent, so close to the historic centre, which had a very handy blue line to follow for a walking tour of the city!

I would really love to have a sheet and a blanket on the bed instead of a duvet/doona, as its just too hot for me. Would be great in winter tho!
