The Mercure is a wonderful hotel, and a great base for visiting Angers. Our room was very comfortable and spacious; the air conditioning was great, too. Parking is secure and on-site, which was much appreciated. There are a number of restaurant options nearby. I recommend the Brasserie Milord. The hotel's breakfast is excellent; there were many options, and all of it was tasty. Right next to the hotel is the wonderful Jardin des plantes d'Angers, which has plenty of trails to stroll in the evenings. It's gorgeous and serene, and the hotel looks directly over it.

The hotel's location is easy to access, but it's not super-close to the Chateau and cathedral. There is a tram station right outside the hotel that helps cut down the travel time a bit, but it's still a fair bit of walking, so just plan on that. Do NOT miss seeing the Château d'Angers! The medieval Apocalypse Tapestry demands to be seen.

This was our first holiday with our 7 months old baby so we were worried how he will be in a hotel room and what if he doesn't feel comfortable. But Mercure crossed all our expectations. The room was spacious with big bed, the window was big enough so the room was airy and luminous. The staffs were friendly and professional. Will definitely go back to this place again if want to have a relax trip with my family.

It was very calm, a good place to rest, a great breakfast and a fantastic team.

It is really not the first thing to rate, but I was a little disappointed that the room was stylistically so ordinary. I was hoping for some more elegancy in France. Also, there was only a low table in the room and I could not work properly on my computer (that is important though).

We were upgraded so that was a treat. Lovely size, very clean room and a very comfortable bed. Great breakfast with lots of choice. Car parking was great and easy to use. Perfect for walking to all the main sights, parks, and restaurants.

Breakfast was very nice. Staff were very friendly and very helpful. The hotel was perfectly located for the event we were attending. The room was nicely furnished and well equipped. Parking was convenient and useful. Loved the local area, so many nice bars and restaurants in the area.

We would have appreciated a restaurant in the hotel.

Cynthia on réception was excellent, even taught my wife and I some French words. Cynthia deserves the highest amount of praise and was a fantastic representative for the company. We will return. Merci.

The hotel location is exceptional by the park and very quiet. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable and the garage in the hotel basement was a big plus. The staff very friendly and professional.

I have no negative comment to make, we had a good travel experience at this hotel.

For as far as I have something to not like: The room has limited options (closet/shelve) to put your things, especially if you are traveling with 2 suitcases.

Super place to stay within an easy stroll of the centre and about 15 minutes to the chateau. The welcome was warm and the two staff members helped us cheerfully and efficiently. Cynthia was outstanding and took time and trouble to explain everything that Angers had to offer, enabling us to make the very most of our stay. And thank you, Cynthia, for the vin chaud recommendation. You were so right! Excellent, fresh breakfast. Comfortable, airy room overlooking the park. We will definitely be back. Thank you.

Excellent location. Clean and comfortable room with coffee making facilities. Good choice of room service food and a very tasty plate de jour. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

The noisiest hotel I've ever stayed in. Not from customs but the Irish pub opposite. Drunken youths singing and creating a disturbance outside the pub until 2.00am every night! Tip: Pay extra for a view onto a small scenic park.
