We felt we arrived as customers and left as friends. Nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed travel tips to slightly off-the-radar destinations, help with computer problems, parking hints, places to eat, and generally, they were always on hand for help or simply an enjoyable conversation. A room overlooking the castle was the icing on the cake. Despite the central location, the hotel was quiet, day and night.

Wonderful, warm and helpful team running the hotel and cafe. Great location and value for our family. Easy to walk to many places in Angers. It was our first time to Angers and location and staff here made it easier to enjoy.

The beautiful, spotlessly clean hotel is located in a perfect location next to the Angers Castle, the tourist visitor center, and an incredibly good bakery. It is also within short walking distances to nice restaurants, shops, parks, museums (definitely be sure to visit the great museums!), historical sites, and the train station. The view of the castle and each evening's sunset from our room’s window was amazing! Breakfasts were deliciously filling and the coffee is fantastic! Special thanks to the talented, thoughtful, helpful, kind, fun team that run this incredible gem.

The staff were exceptionally nice. Sammy was wonderful and friendly and really made us feel welcome and taken care of. He was always greeted us with friendly comments and a smile. It was a wonderful experience staying here. The location is fantastic and we had a view of the castle. The breakfast was good.

The only problem I had was that I couldn't access the internet however my husband was able to. We tried to troubleshoot but it didn't work. The room is plainly decorated but it is big and comfortable. There is a kettle but we had the breakfast so didn't need to make coffee in the room. It was basic with no fridge for milk.

The hotel was in an excellent position for exploring the beautiful city of Angers. Although a little noisy during the day at the present due to the landscaping of a derelict area below the castle opposite, this will when finished really cement its position. The staff were amazingly helpful on many questions and spoke excellent English which helped a great deal. Due to the Unexpected June heatwave it was rather hot at night but a fan was provided and there were air conditioned rooms available. Because of global warming they realise that they are going to have to put units in all rooms.

The rooms were very clean. I like they have wood/vinyl plank flooring instead of carpet. The staff was incredible, so nice and helpful. We are a family of 5 and they were able to get us two rooms next to each other with a view of the fort. Breakfast was fruits, various bread with jelly, hot chocolate, orange juice, cereal, yogurt. Excellent location for walking to the fort, the medieval area and restaurants. Rented a car from the train station nearby.

The fort view from one of the rooms isn’t quite as good because of the angle of the building. You lock the room with a key but I would like a separate lock or bolt on the inside so at night there was something other than just the key lock. (I never felt in danger, just a preference).

Could not have been in a better location--literally across the street from the monumental Chateau and the tourist office, within easy walking distance to the center city. The welcome was warm, the rooms, although on the small side, are far more 3 or 4 star quality rather than 2 star. Extremely happy to have chosen this place.

No hotel parking is a bit inconvenient, but we managed to find street parking nearby. Currently there are massive roadworks going on by the Chateau. Not noisy, but congestion exists here, making it a bit more difficult to enter the hotel.

The location is very central to all the sights, the managers and staff very helpful and friendly. The bonus of a small boutique hotel there is a cafe for coffee/tea/ pastry and bar so very relaxed atmosphere to return there after a day of sightseeing. Breakfast healthy and delicious. Highly recommend to stay.

Our room was in the eaves at the top of the building, with great views towards the castle and was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was 11 euros and consisted of coffee, juice, bread/pastries and preserves, fruit (whole and in salad), yogurt and cereals. The staff were very friendly and spoke good English (even though we tried French). The good news was that while we were there, large car parks were free because of building works around the city.

The bad news was that the nearest big car park was 3/4 of a mile away. The weather was warm and there was no air conditioning on the room, just a desk fan. The first night we left the windows open, but there was a lot of noise from the street below (including a refuse lorry at about 6am). The second night we had the windows shut and used the fan, which was OK, but wouldn’t have been adequate in the peak of summer.
