Very good location (100m to the town), beautiful period house (good view) with hotel parking, excellent breakfast. We would certainly go again if visiting Alsace. Convenient trains to Strasbourg and Colmar. Barr seemed to be a good place to be based for travel within the area. We were there at the end of May so not so many tourists! We were there for a week and could have stayed longer! There are more touristy (and busier) pretty little towns which one should visit but on balance Barr may be quieter and probably cheaper!

The double bed was quite small (Queen size?) but the room was a large with two extra single beds (OK if going with a family). The coffee could be better. Being less touristy the choice of restaurants in Barr naturally was more limited.

Check-in went great even tho we arrived pretty late, the receptionist was able to speak German and English beside French. The whole vibe of the property is very beautiful, old money style and just superb. The breakfast room was very cozy and the food was amazing. We will be recommending this place to our friends and family and we will for sure be back in spring!

The beds are a bit small, but it didn't bother us much, since we were super tired after the whole day on the Christmas market, but if there is any opportunity to upgrade the beds that would be amazing. Other than that it was perfect.

This hotel is a bit 'home from home': a lovely room; a very good optional breakfast (with lots of fresh fruit too). Very close to the town-centre and a convenient distance from the train-station. Some excellent restaurants just a few footsteps away. Guests can make use of a beautiful garden/terrace (weather permitting) and they can have tea in the drawing room. It spoke for itself that there were quite a number of guests happily nursing their tea while reading their books or chatting with other guests. Very relaxing.

Breakfast was delicious, the house is lovely, clean, and well-maintained, and the staff was very responsive when we needed to contact them. The location is perfect for moving around. The view from the room was impressive, and it was clear that it was a family business.

The bed was a bit small, and there was a bit of delay for us getting our coffee at breakfast, but it was understandable because of the large number of people there on a weekend.

Excellent location. Owner./manager picked us up at train station in his personal vehicle, as taxis were non existant in Barr, France. He responded promptly to any needs or requests. He personally prepared and served a very pleasing breakfast buffet ($) each morning. Very quaint and pleasing atmosphere.

Nothing really. This is a small, and older hotel in a small French town. You have to appreciate those qualities and the uniqueness of the environment.

Hotel Manoir is my favorite type of European hotel, an old villa that has been renovated enough to be comfortable while still retaining its charm with decor to match. The corner room was lovely, with nice airflow through both windows and a view of the rooftops and vineyards beyond. The room was quite spacious, with nice cozy lighting, a table and chairs and a desk as well. The bathroom was also a decent size. I had requested a room with one double bed, and while this was no longer available on arrival ( I had booked last minute) the front desk was happy to accomodate my request for a bathtub instead. The tub was large with a nice window as well. There are self service drinks available for a very affordable fee near the front desk. While I did not participate in the breakfast, it looked amazing and the breakfast room itself is very charming. Overall it was the perfect little weekend escape and I would definitely return.

The town of Barr does not have very much to offer. There are a few good restaurants but they book up quickly and need reservations in advance. I preferred the quiet of the town compared to others which are full of tourists in Alsace, however I would not consider Barr to be a destination town. The hotel was my destination for a weekend escape and that worked out perfectly. Do not expect much from the the town, or head to neighboring towns for activities, and you won't be disappointed.

We fell in love with the character of Hôtel Le Manoir and were delighted by the staff’s attentive service, from excellent restaurant recommendations (even when we arrived late on a Sunday!) Breakfast was superb, and the host’s warm, welcoming nature made our stay unforgettable. A true pearl and ideal base for exploring Alsace.

Nice location with private secure parking. Breakfast was very nice with buffet plus eggs to order. Management was friendly and attentive. Bed was comfortable, and room was quiet.

Our room was on the 3rd floor, wish there was an elevator. The bathroom was small, and did not have any heating or heated towel rack.

It was a pleasant surprise, this one of a kind hotel, with great rooms, food, beautiful Manoir, amazing, we really enjoyed our stay there and we will definitely come back!

Beautiful property with a different vibe. Cute little town, perfect place to spend time with friends or family or for a matter of fact, just yourself:)
