The parking was brilliant, reserved space in our name. Staff were really nice and the rooms were large and well equipped, perfect for travelling with children as the rooms we had could be opened to a suite with sitting area. Breakfast looked small but had a surprising variety and was delicious. The pool area was a beautiful oasis of calm with plenty of sun loungers. The photos don’t do it justice.
Travelling with my less able husband, the stairs were tricky and the bath large and very deep. I would request a lower floor next time. This was my fault for not informing the hotel prior to our visit.

Location was perfect for our stopover on the way south. We were glad to have the garden and pool as it was very hot when we stayed at the end of May. The receptionist was extremely helpful and friendly despite seeming to be the only member of staff after 5 pm. The hotel is in the centre of town so a short walk to restaurants & bars, etc. Good breakfast.
A long wait at check in - a single member of staff at peak check in is not enough when some guests require their room be specially made up and the phone rings often. Our room was under the roof with the window too high to see out of (OK for a short stay), and too high for some to reach to open/close.

The staff were lovely and very helpful. I loved the historic buildings. Our room had exposed wooden beams. The bed was comfortable and it was quiet despite our window being right on the street. The room was big enough for us to open our 2 large suitcases. It was in the centre of Beaugency making it easy to see the sites. Parking was ample and in a courtyard. Breakfast was a very good European-style with plenty of choice.
This is only a problem because I am very short! Everything in the bathroom was very high. The rack with towels on it and the showerhead, which needed to be lifted off the fitting to use were too high for me.Even the soap dispenser by the sink was a long reach towards the back. If you are average height or above these things would not be a problem!

This was our second stay at L'Ecu. There for a 3 night stay. Our room for the last two nights was large, light and very comfortable. It was great to be able to cool down in the pool after a day's cycling.
Our room for the first night was large but dark, musty and in need of brightening up with better lighting. The WC would benefit from some sound proofing. A screen for the shower over the bath would stop the floor from getting wet. Definitely not worthy of 3 stars and not a suitable room to put guests who are staying 3 nights. The breakfast was disappointing. Very limited choice at 8.30 if you like a healthy start to the day. Just a few oranges in the fruit bowl.. Although there was fruit salad another day. If you like cake and sweet things you'd be fine. No staff around to put out more cheese or ask for anything. Lots of uncleared tables. Not worth the €16

Comveniently situated in the town centre and we were able to park in the hotel's courtyard. The room was a good size, with a large comfortable bed, and accessible by lift to the first floor, as well as quite quiet. At our request the duvet had been changed for a blanket. The breakfast included in our booking was varied and good. Although there was no restaurant we found a place to eat nearby.
We found the wifi complicated to log into. It is not secured, and since the signal was very poor and kept dropping we gave up on it. Although there was a coffee pod machine in the room, that is no good if you want tea or other hot drink.

Room was smart and very clean as was toilet/shower room. Parking very good and like being sort of self-contained from the main hotel building. We were in the annex that looked like an old stable block. Pricing of room very competitive. Staff very friendly and helpful. WiFi available - if u login. The medieval town centre is great as is the proximity to the Loire river. I went for a run along the path adjacent the river and it was easy to get there on foot from the Hotel.
These are all very minor issues and nothing that would stop us using the Hotel again. Lighting a bit dim in room with just downlighters. No drinks making facilities in room. Swimming pool not in use as mid - October but no mention of this in advance. Should be explained on booking . com. We thought the 16 Euro cost for breakfast was too expensive for us personally so we didn't use this facility. Finally, the D road running parallel with the historic centre is an incredibly busy route as parallels the payage Autoroute. Noise not an issue but finding your way to the old quarter and the hotel can be a bit frightening - especially if you don't know the route. Common to any hotel access in the historic quarter of Beaugency.

Wonderful simple accommodation, fabulous location, very friendly helpful staff. Clean, everything basic that you need. We’ve stayed there in the summer too and there’s a great swimming pool.
Nothing. It is basic; good bed, clean shower room, nice fluffy towels. Ideally, it would be good to have better lighting for those who like to read in bed. Yea-making facilities in the bedroom would be nice too. But hey, it’s a simple hotel. You can get tea at the breakfast area at reception.

Our second time staying at this nice hotel. - Excellent location in Beaugency. - Rooms are nice and spacious. - Comfy bed. - Nice staff. - Good parking in the courtyard. - Hotel is a lovely old building next to a square and old church (which is now used as a gallery).
A couple of small issues this time. - Shower ran tepid after a few minutes, not so nice in colder weather. - WiFi did not work for some reason. Not a big deal, it's still a nice place to stay.

Fantastic location, very welcoming and hospitable staff, spacious room, charming communal areas, relaxed atmosphere, plenty of opportunities to sit outside, although we didn't use the pool it looked lovely and pool towels were offered at reception. Good recommendations of where to eat in town and the reception staff booked for us. A marvellous and really enjoyable break in our journey.

Good location in a lovely town, warm welcome and friendly, helpful staff, spacious bedroom and bathroom.
We couldn't get into a parking space in the courtyard as there were some poorly parked vehicles, (this was one criteria for choosing the hotel) so we had to park in the town. It might be helpful if there were defined parking bays.
