Breakfast was served in the lovely dining room and included very nice yogurt, fruit, toast, tea and coffee, served by Craig, who was attentive and friendly throughout our stay. The house is large and elegant and very easy to find. There is street parking immediately outside, which makes access very simple. As stated, Craig is a very friendly, helpful and attentive host. We enjoyed walking around Bellac, which has some interesting views, buildings and areas such as the river and the old bridge.

This bed and breakfast is exceptional! The location is super convenient, you can park your car in a public parking lot right in front of the entrance. The building has been restored extremely well, it has kept a very authentic flavor to it, and all the furnishing details are extremely well cured. The room we were given, for 4 people, was spacious, spotless clean and very comfortable. The owners were extremely kind and very helpful. The breakfast they serve is very good and portions are generous, Shirani makes a great yogurt creme brulee which I had never tasted before and was delicious. Definitely a place to come back to!

We were greeted with a very warm welcome by Craig and then introduced to Shirani too. Both are very warm and wonderful people, who you can tell take a great deal of pride in their business. The room is huge and very comfortable. The whole property is full of character and being old has the quirks of squeaky floorboards etc which add to the ambience. Breakfast was tasty - a home made fruit compote yoghurt brulee, bounds and bounds of fresh fruit, croissant and pan au chocolate and as much tea or coffee as you'd wish.

There are no drinks facilities in the room but you could make one in the reception lobby. Also no TV - not a problem for us, we only needed a bed for a couple of nights - but this is something we hadn't picked up on the booking details (not saying it's not listed there, I guess we assumed!) If there was one thing I would change - it's the blocked up connecting door between the two rooms. You can literally hear your neighbours using the bathroom, it could do with some descent insulation between. ~To be honest, neither are details that would put me off booking again, because the overall welcome and comfort more than made up for it.

Fantastic, exquisite .... a mix between British country house and French elegance ! A true pearl. Words lack to describe the care and love devoted to this beautiful place. And did I mention the superb breakfast ? Well, it was just that ! Highly, very highly, recommended, this place. PS: do not judge the book by its cover, meaning, the outside facade of the building has absolutely no relation to what awaits one inside.

Our second stay here, Adrian and Shirani are fantastic hosts, we had a really comfortable night's sleep and the breakfast is excellent. Brilliant place for a stopover on our journey, no doubt we'll be back again.

It would be good to be able to open the window in the bedroom, it felt a little stuffy. Though we forgot to mention this at the time so maybe there was a knack to it.

We had a warm welcome from Craig and were so pleased with our room and facilities. Craig could not have been more helpful. Our room was very comfortable, we loved the cosy bed. Breakfast was most satisfying and we loved meeting Dotty the dog who was adorable.

This was an overnight stop. A very welcoming and helpful host, a very quiet and spacious room in this beautiful grand old 18th century house , amazingly large and comfortable bed, a delicious breakfast with, as well as bread and croissants, fresh fruit salad and home made fruit and yogurt "brulee". Our host recommended a nearby local restaurant for dinner and Bellac is a charming little town.

The weather was very hot and there was a strong drain smell emanating from the en-suite bathroom so we made sure we kept the door shut. We mentioned it to our host. It can apparently happen in extreme weather and he was going to check it out.

Craig was there to welcome us with a warm smile. He was so helpful and gave us excellent advice on where to dine out. There was parking directly in front of his hotel and the area was lovely and quiet. Our room was old style with lovely old furniture and a very comfortable bed. The view from our bathroom was absolutely beautiful. Looking out over old building surrounded by woodland. Beauty as far as the eye could see. (Unfortunately I didn't take a photo). We had a delicious healthy breakfast there. Fresh fruit and orange juice followed by freshly baked croissant and lovely French bread and the aroma of coffee to greet us. The restful dining room was also furnished in beautiful antique furniture. Very relaxing.

We were on a deadline so only stayed one night. I feel a week would have been perfect there for us. Bellac and its surrounding is a place we would have love to visit and explore in the future and staying with Craig would be a bonus.

Lovely location. Plenty to see in the interesting town. Craig and Shirani booked us into the Cheval Blanc restaurant for dinner which was good of them. Dinner was excellent and very good value. The room was spacious with nice views. Breakfast was lovely. Fresh fruit and a fruit brulee!!

Maybe a little more pressure in the shower, but really everything was great.

Beautiful old house, well updated with plenty of charm. Enormous comfortable bed in a delightful room overlooking the front of the house. Lovely welcome from our hosts. Unusual breakfast but delicious.

No tea or coffee making facilities in bed room.
