My favourite stay at Calais. I am a dog owner and this hotel is extremely comfortable if you travel with dogs. Ask for a room on the groundfloor and you can go in and out directly from the room without passing the main entrance all the time. You can park your car practically in front of the room. In autumn and winter you can walk your dog on the beach which is a few metres away. Last time we had dinner at the hotel restaurant and it was excellent. I also like how the restaurant/breakfast room is layed out. There is a lot of space between the tables and last time we could bring our two dogs to the restaurant in the evening. Good value for money.

Use this hotel as a stopover when road tripping through France and Italy(travelling from Scotland) and have done so for the past 2 years beds comfortable enough staff helpful no real language barriers to speak of we have never eaten breakfast here but do enjoy an evening meal with a glass of wine when we stay it sets us up for the rest of our holiday .

One small thing though this is more a preference than a problem … I prefer a walk-in shower due to mobility issues rather than climbing into a bath to shower.

Have been a few times as it is really convenient for the ferry back to the UK and always exceptional food and welcoming. We ended up parked right outside the room we were given which was brilliant 😎

This has never happened before but we were given a room which had an adjoining door to another room. Which wasn’t lockable. We could hear everything in their room so also they could hear us also but as well as that, we were worried that they could enter our room accidentally. We put chair under the door but we weren’t comfortable with the scenario and had to sleep with our valuables under our pillow.

Easy to find. Easy to access. Parked directly outside the room and one can enter via inner door or garden door. Briging in the luggage via the garden door is so convenient. Ground floor bedroom as I requested as I am partially disabled. Very nice restaurant a few yards from our bedroom where we had our evening meal and breakfast next morning.

Had to move one bed a bit to get through garden door but this is NOT a problem.

Stayed there a few times en route to ferry back home. First time we were delighted with the restaurant food so always come back. Rooms are fairly basic but great value for money for an overnight stay and incredibly convenient for the ferries. Staff were really friendly and helpful.

Perfect except a man speaking to someone (on his phone) until quite late and again in the morning. Room 30. Had earplugs so ok! Otherwise great stay.

This is my second stay at the Hôtel De La Plage as my French launch spot for my second cycle ride from London to Italy. No problem to keep the bikes in the room. Good hairdryer to dry wet cycling kit. Excellent restaurant. Very friendly staff. Great value for money. Small bedroom but perfect for two tired cyclists with bikes for one night. Easy ride from the ferry after being personally guided out of the port area, and after riding 111 miles on the UK side of the channel. A good and would stay here again.

The rooms are quite small but I already knew that so a friendly welcome, a good shower and good food and breakast in a good location were the priorities.

On arriving at the hotel it smelt lovely and clean. I was greeted by a wonderful gentleman on the reception desk who was very friendly, welcoming and super helpful. Our room was nice and clean and also smelt very nice, the same applies to the bathroom/shower as well. There was a kettle and tea/coffee as well as some chocolates in the room which was a nice touch. The bed was very comfortable and the rooms/hotel was quiet. We ate in the hotel restaurant and the meal was lovely as was the wine. The same gentleman on who greeted us on arrival found us a table and even ensured we had room for our dog in the restaurant (she was in her buggy). Dogs are welcome in the restaurant which is fantastic. The restaurant staff are all very helpful and cheerful too, they seem like a good team! The hotel has a good amount of parking and is very close to the beach too. The promenade has had a huge amount of money spent on it and it is a great place to spend some time. There is no lift but the stairs are only short and for us it wasn't an issue. We were able to park directly below our room which was great.

An extra toilet roll in the bathroom as the one in our room had already been started so it wasn't a full roll. Some hand wash in the bathroom would be ideal too, but other than that everything was superb!

Great location if you wanted to be near the beach...which we did. Its meters away. Close enough to the restaurant area of Calais. Easy to get to. Masses of parking. One night we ate in the restaurant and the food was good and certainly comparable to other places in Calais. Very friendly and helpful staff. All good and will go back.

Small gripe. Please not paper cups in the rooms. Plastic or ceramic ....please... That's about it.

The location is nice, on the seafront. Yet the accommodation is quiet. The restaurant is very pleasant, with views of the Channel. The rooms are in a motel style wing with good, private parking. Each room has a door to the outside of the building, giving easy access to the parking spaces. This is very is very convenient if travelling by car, because it is possible to take suitcases, etc. straight into the rooms.

The room was clean and comfortable. The towels were clean and fresh. We had a good night sleep, the bed was clean and comfortable. There was ample parking. The breakfast was good, and as it was buffet style we were able to serve ourselves. We had our dog with us and he was made to feel as welcome as we were. I would definitely recommend this hotel, it was value for money and the staff were very helpful
