Perfect 2-3 day getaway in the french countryside. Very relaxing and enjoyable in every way. We loved the scenery, the room was cosy and the service was fantastic.

When we arrived we had to pay a deposit of 500eur per night. This is usually no problem and very understandable but we received no message regarding this before our stay. I could not find anything about this in their terms and conditions. It would’ve been nice to get a heads up.

Staff are outstanding

Mosquitos. My daughter was virtually eaten alive overnight. In summer you need to leave window/door open for air and coolness and they attack. There is no protection. She had more than 200 bites. All counted.

Beautiful hotel in the countryside, the grounds are stunning, the building has been remodeled maintaining the original character. The decor has a beautiful early medieval to flamboyant gothic style that makes a romantic ambience all around the property. Tea time is the best, as well as breakfast which takes place in the huge abbey cafeteria.

Our room was tiny and difficult to get to through winding staircases in the back of the hotel destined for service. Even though we requested to move to a different room more accessible and more roomy the staff didn't show effort to our needs and that was sad. Customer service needs attention asap.

It's not the first time here. But it seemed that in previous times the room service was faster, we waited 30 minutes for cotton discs to be brought to us :) and we waited a long time for our luggage in the parking lot. Even in the past there were more friendly managers at the reception. It was nice that the restaurant recognised us 6 months after our last visit. The guys even remembered what my husband was wearing back then. They're cool guys. And we were very pleased with it. And the cuisine is also very good and tasty. There is really good breakfast. And spa zone. But the massage didn't seem very effective to us. If you are used to real high-quality massages, where you work out your neck and back after the flight, then I would not recommend it. Although the atmosphere was excellent. We still love this place and will come back again, but we hope that next time we will be more welcome than when we came back now for the 3rd time and it looked like they were tired of us (at the reception). We hope that the quality of service will improve, and not vice versa, as it often happens when the place is sharply gaining popularity.

Nothing says romance like a getaway to a convent! Actually, it was a 12th-century monastery converted to a luxurious 5-star hotel. Our petite chamber was as cozy as a Toile de Jouy-papered chocolate box, including a lovely bathroom with flattering lighting. The grounds are magnificent, with every possible amenity, from pool to boating lake to fabulous ruins, just begging to show up on your Instagram feed. A delightful tea time was offered in the afternoon, with a wide variety of cakes and tartes laid out for your indulgence, and a Chocolat Chaud to rival Angelina's. But the piece de resistance was the Breakfast Buffet, featuring at least a mile of every imaginable breakfast treat, hot and cold, served in the monk's ancient vaulted-ceiling refectory. Those monks would have been shocked at the sheer decadence of it all, but they would certainly agree that the lovely staff, from check-in to check-out, were positively heavenly!

Beautiful location and history. Lots of things to do. Ambience was lovely. Staff all spoke English and were very attentive and helpful. Clean and warm room. We had forgotten our plug adaptor for the phone chargers and reception sent a brand new one to our room very quickly.

We loved everything and cannot think of what we disliked. Perhaps could have had more information of things to do in the local area. Also maybe a mini bar/more drinks/snacks in fridge in the room would have been nice.

Pricing of some services or food is out of range !!

Everything was amazing! Can't fault a single thing, especially the staff, activities, rooms, decorations, everything was perfect. Couldn't find something I didn't like if I tried.

I would suggest the restaurants (L'Auberge, James' Bar, and Les Reflectoires Des Moines) and not Les Chasses, which we didn't enjoy as much (still not bad). Also, didn't like that all the main activities are just on Saturday (not Friday and Sunday), which makes for a tight schedule on Saturday (meaning we had to forgo some activities on Saturday as we already planned other things).
