This is the most unique property with a mixture of history and modern design. The host could not have been more welcoming and helpful and the breakfast was plentiful to say the least. Pierre felt like a friend even after just one evening and we would absolutely come back here. Our boys loved their “party” room. We enjoyed a drink in the terraced garden. The location for a stroll into the town could not have been better.

The property was very central, 10mins walk from the train station and 5mins to the bars and restaurants. Property was beautiful, such a lovely house and the hosts were fantastic. Always happy to help with any questions we had. Lastly the bedrooms have air-conditioning- which on the super hot days when we were there was a life saver.

Very charming and authentic house with nice patio/ terrace and inside garden at the heart of the city center. Very nice and comfortable bedrooms with airco. Hosts were very nice and friendly. Breakfast was very nice as well; typically French. Would advise that place to anyone.

A beautiful house with stunning courtyard garden where we were made very welcome by the friendly owners and their family. Suggestions were provided on nearby restaurants, and these lived up to recommendations. Breakfast was freshly prepared and delicious. The central location make exploring the town easy, and secure parking at La Maison de Montaboulin was a bonus. We hadn't previously visited Chateauroux but are very glad we did and would certainly hope to stay here again if we return.

Everything was wonderful

Breakfast very good. Friendly host and so grateful he spoke English. Offered parking in the garage, but as we had a large car with roof box we could not fit in (too high - clearance was about 2m and we were 2.15m)

Exceptionally hospitable owner. Great location in center of Châteauroux. Very good price/value relationship. Great outdoor space for summer dining and drinks. Very quiet location for sleeping. Very good breakfast.

A hidden gem in the town centre. Owners so helpful and Pierre even walked with us to the path in the gardens to show us the way to the restaurant. His daughter cooked us a lovely carrot cake. Definitely a recommendation with a secret garden
