La Carbonniere is s lovely place with much character. It is a collection of old and beautiful buildings each with an intriguing history and the proprietors, Francoise and Patrick, regaled us with stories about the origins of La Carbonniere. We were given a tour by Francoise, and provided with a welcome cup of tea and outstanding hospitality. The bedroom was large and characterful, and we had a quiet and calm night. The breakfast was very good, and Francoise was an engaging and lovely host. This is an excellent place to visit and spend time at. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Françoise and Patrick really knows how to make guests feel welcome! Our ferry from Cherbourg was cancelled so we needed to find somewhere to spend the night. And how lucky were we to find this tastefully renovated farmhouse dating back to 1335. The bed was really comfortable and the room spacious and dark at night. Breakfast left nothing to wish for! Leaving La Carbonnière we got loads of tips on what to do in the neighborhood.

Everything was above expectations

The friendliness of the owners, both prior to our arrival and also on site. We received helpful recommendations, and all our wishes were fulfilled! The breakfast was amazing! We felt immediately home away from home!

One needs to climb a floor to the room (we had heavy luggage), and 4 steps at the entry.

we used this as a stopover on our way to Cherbourg to catch a ferry. The location is ideal - about an hour away and a couple of minutes to pick up the road. A few minutes from St Lo with a range of restaurants and a pretty town to spend our final evening. Spent a fascinating evening with Francoise who is a fabulous host. Breakfast was immense and beautifully fresh, and managed a quick farm tour before reluctantly leaving. Lovely quite wacky house in which it is easy to relax. Francoise likes to laugh and is the principal reason we hope to return

Not a dislike, but take your time driving down the track if you’re not in a 4x4. But the few hundred metres are worth the bumps!

The location, a farmhouse and historic buildings , was idyllic with marvellous views of rural Normandy. Our hostess was charming and did everything to make us feel welcome in her home and in France.

Quiet and peaceful in the countryside. The owner/operators have exceptional knowledge of the region and are happy to help plan daytrips. They went beyond the call of duty to provide non-allergenic food.
