Were able to arrive before check in time; secure bike storage; close to city centre. Fan; reception very accommodating and helpful.

Restaurant was closed for dinner. This should be communicated during confirmation email comms as would have been useful.

This is an old fashioned and basic 1 * hotel. However, it was all clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had the evening meal to save walking around which was good and generous from a small menu.

Some modernisation and decoration would lift the rooms.

Nice breakfast in dining area next to a bar that was clearly popular in the morning with local workers.

Only 1 bedside light and 1 bedside table. Bar and restaurant closed when we arrived about 7.00 pm. Had to communicate via an intercom to persuade someone we had a booking. No kettle, view or coffee maker in our room.. Place seemed to be closed up when we arrived.

The restaurant food was very good. The linen was clean. Proximity to the Gare excellent.

I could have put up with the 1950's decor if the staff had not been so rude and so completely unhelpful. There was no wifi, no mirror light in the bathroom (so could not see to put on make-up), awful pillows, I had to check the mattress wasn't a plank of wood because that's what it felt like.
