We enjoyed a very comfortable 3-night stay at the Originals Bristol Hotel. From the moment we arrived we (and our dog) were made to feel extremely welcome. The staff were friendly, helpful, courteous and professional - nothing was too much trouble for them to arrange for us. We had booked the half-board (demi-pension) option, and this proved to be a very good decision - the food was delicious, with the breakfast having a wide range of self-seerve options, and the dinners a fixed price menu. The hotel is in a great location, just outside the city's ring-road system. This meant we had the best of both worlds, with all the places of interest in Le Puy being within easy walking distance, while car access and parking (we used the public car park opposite the hotel) was also very easy. In our view, the score of 7.9 is way below what we feel this hotel is worth - a score in the high 9s would be a much fairer reflection based on our experience. We would be very happy to stay at this hotel if in the area again, and would totally recommend to others looking for comfort, convenience and great value for money.

There was nothing that we disliked.

Clean, comfortable hotel with nice treed rear patio area. Really good breakfast in pleasant dining area. Good quality decor and furnishings. Commercial car park across the road very convenient and not too expensive. Quick walk into old town, restaurants etc and a fun town (for oldies!) with a lot of videos/images projected on walls in evenings. Great museum/art gallery, Saturday market and lentils!

Tiny, claustrophobic lift. We were in an attic room with sloping ceiling so no shower in our room just a jacuzzi that would take a couple of days to fill. And my wife bumped her head a lot!

We loved our quiet room overlooking the courtyard with a big window and balcony and aircon. Lift and stairs were convenient. Staff helpful with limited English. Easy location short walk to station and main shopping strip. Brilliant laundromat in the same street which was helpful. Close to mini supermart and a fruit shop. Nice breakfast with plenty of options. Nice traditional experience.

Clean and with in walking distance of most of the main sites, Great parking lot directly across the street. 12Euros for 24 Hrs

I would not not have wanted to walk down the street in the dark- I was here June 28 so it was bright out until 2300H

Convenient , old style hotel , polite staff

We only stayed there one night, so this may not be representative, but the restaurant was completely full so we had to go find another restaurant. It is a main stage on the St Jacques compostell, so bear it in mind. There are plenty of other restaurants.

Room was very nicely presented and was bright and clean. Facilities were very good and location was within walking distance to town centre and train station. Safe area.

Everything was fine

I had a lovely view through French doors- a big tub & fluffy towels.

The top room is a garret & I bumped my head a few times. Also, I was going out for a walk before checking out & a young staff member caught me, almost like she thought I was skipping out on the bill. Since my cc card was on file I’m not sure I understand her adamance.

The room was quiet, clean, very comfortable and had a great window with a view of the city. The staff was very kind and accommodating. I ate in the hotel restaurant twice and it was quite good.

As a pilgrim, it would have been nice to be a bit closer to the Cathedral.

Central location with public parking opposite. Friendly and helpful staff. Comfy bed and large walk in shower. Big breakfast options. Garden at back.

Bathroom a bit small. Bedroom looked out over the main road, a bit noisy. Light by bed did not work.

Bedrooms an improvement on last year. We had rooms 42 and 43. They were brilliant - clean and tidy and comfortable.

Bit disappointed that the restaurant was closed but found a good restaurant in town where we saw people on fancy dress for the festival. That was a bonus.
