Friendly, helpful staff and we were warmly welcomed. Lots of free parking. Excellent breakfast and a very good dinner, both cooked to order. Good choice of reasonably priced bottles of wine . Public areas were nice and warm . Lovely bathroom with great shower and toiletries provided. Comfortable, large bed. A utilitarian room which was fine for one night. The grounds were really lovely and in the summer it must be a fantastic location.

When we arrived our room was very cold. There was an efficient heater but even so, on an exceptionally cold night, it took a long while to warm the room up. We were the only people staying in the hotel so it wouldn't have cost them a lot of money to warm the room before we arrived. The room itself was clean and reasonably comfortable but quite spartan . A wooden floor with no rugs, for example. There were no cushions or welcoming touches. I thought there was no artwork on the walls then spotted a small picture behind the television.

A superb breakfast buffet with an amazing array of breads and pastries. Situated within its own substantial grounds within a village setting. A wonderful dinner with perfect food to conclude our holiday

Nothing much the room was basic but we were there for less than 24 hours. The reception staff on our arrival were very friendly and efficient. The service at dinner was great as well. They allowed us to take our breakfast before their official time at 07.15 to accommodate our ferry departure.

Rooms are too hot in Sunny weather, spring through to autumn, not even a fan in the room & many mosquitoes, if you open the windows

This was the second time we stayed, and if anything, it was better than the 1st time. The staff were very professional and quick to respond to any questions or help that we may have needed.

Excellent hosts,lovely accommodation & location. Peaceful after a day at the racetrack. Lovely shower & excellent breakfast full of variety with homemade conserves..worth the additional comfy bed

Location was perfect, staff were very friendly and helpful room was very large. Food was excellent, they were very accommodating to have a menu substitute. would definitely stay again!!

wifi was weak in room, tv did not work upon arrival, (staff was quick to fix the problem) so it did not detract from my rating. and as for wifi that also did not change my view of the hotel I included it here for information only

Location was fabulous if you want peace and tranquility. The food in the restaurant was fabulous. Staff were excellent

Bedroom styling and facilities were a little on the basic side. The bed was too hard for me.

I stayed a second night later, and the only room available was in the attic. It was comfortable enough but quite stuffy, being in the roof

Really nice looking Hotel and surroundings. Booked a family room, which was vast, with 8 beds. Breakfast was included, which was a welcome bonus.

Nothing to really grumble about for the price.

Impresive building. Nice big bedroom and well fitted en-suite. Very good evening meal & breakfast. Dog friendly, quiet and yet in an Interesting small town. Would like to stay again.
