My wife, my cat, and I stayed at Hôtel Lyon Métropole for my birthday, and it was an excellent experience. My wife had contacted the hotel in advance to arrange decorations for my birthday, and they did a fantastic job — the room looked absolutely amazing and made the stay really special. One thing I’d suggest is that the hotel updates the photos of the rooms online. The real rooms are even nicer and more spacious than they appear on Booking.com, so it would be great for future guests to see that. The staff were very kind and helpful. When we arrived, the parking garage was full, but they went out of their way to help me park on the hotel grounds instead, which I really appreciated. The sauna and pool area was also a highlight: very clean, hygienic, and relaxing. I will definitely return to this hotel and spa the next time I’m in Lyon — and I’m sure my cat will be happy to come back too!

We enjoyed our stay and would recommend taking the time for the full package! Dog friendly was nice. We were on the apartment side. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice, well stocked at all times and very pleasant and friendly staff. We used the spa which we really enjoyed. And we had a lovely meal at the restaurant. All the staff we had contact with were very polite. The check in and check out times are very generous.

Wish they had a family room without it having to be a sofa-bed. Only one tiny pillow each which meant we did not sleep comfortably, (next time we will ask for more). The WiFi dropped out all the time and you had to constantly sign back in with your email address.

Modern hotel with several extra facilities, such as restaurant and spa. Our apartment was quite large and had one living room with double sofa bed, one double bedroom and a small kitchenette provided with basic tools, such two cookers and a microwave oven. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

We reserved a spot in the underground parking because we were travelling with our car full of luggage, including a roofbox. Unfortunately we were unable to use the parking because the ceiling of the garage was too low (1.80 metres) and our car would not fit.

We did enjoy our stay! Our apartment was quite big. Very nice spa!

The kitchen could be better equipped for 4star hotel. It looked like the kitchen had some random items instead needed things. Air conditioning is located directly towards the beds so when it’s used you get cold quickly. Unfortunately we got sick after one day and we could not switch it off as it was extremely hot outside…the pint of Heineken is 10euro, this is way too much for a cheap market beer! I had few pints at the pool as it was hot but it didn’t feel right to pay that amount for that kind of beer.

Location and it was very much a business hotel although the pool facilities were fab Ate in the restaurant in the evening by the pool and staff and food were exceptional. Shame breakfast wasn’t served there too instead is the cafeteria:( rooms need modernising and made to feel more luxurious to suit the 4* rating Also should have forewarned about male swim attire before we arrived so we didn’t have to buy trunks from hotel

The reception staff were very helpful and efficient. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast was very complete with many choices and great service. The bar downstairs is cool.

Inside the building it's obvious that it is dated around the 70s or 80 s and the rooms are like a nightmare of bad 70s décor recalling that famous "international Man of Mystery". But if that's what you like...yet the restoration is overdue. The bathrooms were old-fashioned.

My only annoyance was that the hotel blocks a large sum of money on the credit card. For a 400chf stay, close to 800chf was blocked from my card for f&b apparently. I didn’t even have the option to choose a deposit amount or if I thought I’d consume at the hotel. Found that annoying. If it were a longer trip, it would have left me more cash strapped. Room had a musty smell, may the carpet was wet before we arrived.

Everything was super thoughtful in the space (we stayed on the residence side). It was nice having nonstop service for food/bar onsite. The duck salad and risotto were phenomenal! The staff were 100% friendly and professional. They were accommodating with our small dogs as well. The parking situation was easy. The price was a great value. We were unable to take advantage Because of the spa facilities because of our obligations at the hospital, but fully intend to return to the property and add this feature next time!

I was able to get on the Wi-Fi easily and the connection was strong, but for some reason our VPN wouldn’t work with the connection. To most people this would likely not even matter though, as most people don’t use VPNs on private devices.

The Wi-Fi is terrible! 9mbs so not fast enough to stream Netflix etc The lifts are even slower than the Wi-Fi, the worst I’ve ever known! Sometimes waiting over 5 minutes for it to arrive after calling it The spa is very nice but it’s expensive at €45 per day. Most guests just want to sunbathe by the pool and the price is off-putting. This should be included and then maybe a chargeable upgrade for sauna and spa etc. There is no place to sunbathe without paying so it feels like they are forcing you to pay the extra charge which makes it poor value overall
