What a location! Stunning views across the valley from both of our rooms. The welcome we received was warm & all the information was helpful. We had cold foodstuffs with us, & it was no problem for these to be stored in the kitchen fridge/freezer for us - thank you. There are two parts to the hotel - the main building & then a separate part housing bedrooms & the bistro/bar/restaurant, which is where we were. A very tiny lift to take our baggage up! Gorgeous comfy beds; quiet rooms; but the view!! WOW! We chose not to eat in the hotel's restaurant, but the menu looked good.
The cleaning of the rooms was not quite perfect: there were hairs on the drinks tray & in the bath, & in the 2nd bedroom also hairs in the bathroom. The fridge also had spillage on the shelves. Nothing awful, just a little disappointing. Also on the drinks tray, milk & sweetener were promised but not apparent?

Check in was quick, friendly & efficient. Room had well appointed decor with a view of the valley plus a full size bathtub! We hadn't made dinner reservations but staff accommodated us and even found someone who could deal with the language difference. Lovely breakfast on the outdoor patio. This is a beautiful medieval town without the damp cold or crowds of Mt. St. Michel. Was very disappointed our itinerary wouldn't allow for an extra night. Loved it and will definitely return.
These are issues to be aware of but nothing that is within the hotels control. To get to the hotel on the mountain, the road is very narrow with hairpin turns. There were times the areas we went through were so remote we thought we were lost. Also this was a horse & cart town so parking is sparse and tight. The hotel let us know where we could park without charge and it worked out fine but if you can't back up into tight spaces you need to practice.

Location can't be beat, right in the middle of the village and with gorgeous views of both village and valley. Very relaxing place, terrace is beautiful. Restaurant is absolutely exquisite. Staff is great. Fabulous stay, thank you!
The only little annoyance was a lot of small flies in the restaurant during breakfast (not a problem if temperature allows for breakfast on the patio), maybe something could be looked into to attract them some place else?

The hotel is in the most amazing setting perched on the side of the valley. The terrace for drinks and dinner afforded wonderful views in a tranquil sheltered setting. The room was well appointed, with an amazing view over the valley, and we were treated to the view of an early morning balloon rising up from the valley floor and floating near our room. Dinner was very good, with great food and local wine to enjoy.

Ideally situated in centre of Rocamadour; has clearly had investment in recent past; restaurant views quite lovely. Reception, concierge very friendly & welcoming. Views from our room were as good as you could hope for.
A few tiny niggles related to the quality of certain fittings in bedroom - light bulbs flickering/switching off intermittently, toilet flush lever sometimes got stuck; shower head would move at random; soap dispensers not assembled properly; air con only blew warm & hot air no matter how temperature was set - all little things that I would assume are due to sub contractors who've done repairs/upgrades, not the hotel itself. Nonetheless as guests these things were noticeable. Restaurant service and food varied from dreadful one evening to excellent another.

Excellent location. Very clean, good size room. Excellent food for dinner and breakfast.
There was a mix up with our departure. We asked for an early breakfast as we had a 7.15am taxi. They said they might be able to arrange it. Then when I went to confirm the arrangements the night before I was told it was not possible. When I checked out at 7.00 they charged us for breakfast because they said they had organised an early breakfast for us - the one which we had been told it was not possible. I think that was very unfair. It ended an otherwise good stay on a bad note

Amazingly wonderful hotel right in the heart of the small town. Our room overlooked the valley with spectacular views, the room was very large, very clean and had everything we needed. The restaurant at the hotel was really lovely food with a good selection and not too expensive. The breakfast buffet was phenomenal and well worth the money! It was quite literally the best breakfast we had in all of France! And the building had a small lift just enough to fit your suitcases - my husband appreciated not having to carry them up the stairs yet again…. The check in and out staff were really helpful and spoke fantastic English. For some reason the hotel is rated on the site as 3 star - not sure why. Everything was so lovely that it should be rated 4.5 stars!
The main stairwell had a sensor light that came on as you approached it, however it needed another sensor between the levels. We had to find our way upstairs in the dark for quite a few steps before it came on. I could not find a light switch in the hallway to override it.

An incredible value! We decided at the last minute to drive from Bordeaux to see the Dordogne region and booked two rooms for that day. The hotel is right in the middle of town, bathrooms seemed brand new and top quality. And our dinner on the terrace was one of our best meals in France. We each loved our dishes.
The town itself is full of souvenir shops. It is worth it to take the elevator and funicular to the top and walk down though. Very unique.

Well maintained hotel in a Medieval town; all electrics etc worked well. We were able to park our car in a hotel owned bay (limited spaces available so arrived early)
Not so much the property as the Town at this end of season time has limited dining options in the evening. We dined at the hotel owned restaurant just opposite. €150 for two including a bottle of wine. Great meal but restaurant shuts before 9pm, so eat early

Hotel exceeded expectations. Lovely room with view of gorge. Hotel restaurant of same name was one of our best meals in France Be sure to make reservations for dinner. You can drive to the hotel to drop your bags. If you are lucky you can park in one of their 4 parking spots by town, else you have to park below and hike back up to the town.
Mountain roads to get there are a little scary as was the drive through the tourists in town to drop bags at reception.
