The location was brilliant for me, it was within walking distance to the hospital which was what I needed but also the same distance to the local shops. The owner and staff were exceptionally friendly and knowledgable about the Hotel itself and the local area. They were happy to answer questions and were extremely helpful to me being a lone traveller initially and then being flexible in terms of my stay and in terms of my cousin joining me which was not planned. Staff were able to say some words of English and the owner also was very good with conversational English despite being french herself. She was also more than hospitable when it came to us needing help / advice with the local hospital and put us in touch with people that could help us with translation at the hospital where we were having problems being English and able to communicate in French. We were beyond happy with the service and the kindness we received whilst staying at this lovely traditional and historic hotel. The home made food was absolutely too delicious for words, there was a good variety of healthy fruit, meat, cheese and vegetables in a traditional French cuisine style. The hotel set up for evening dining was on a lovely big table where everyone could join in the conversations and meet each other which we particularly enjoyed alongside the variety of lovely french cheeses that were made available daily. During our stay we stayed in two different rooms due to us needing a couple of nights in the local area and coming back for our final night at the hotel. Both rooms were clean, quiet and well styled with lovely glamourous artwork and interesting features. We were also impressed by the hotels massive friendly dog whom joined us for dinner on the evenings and was very well trained /behaved.

Not much!!! I honestly couldn't have landed in a better place to stay in order to explore the local area and deal with the situation that we needed to deal with. My only disappointment was that we weren't able to use the pool as it was broken, however the owner did offer the jacuzzi, it was just that we had too many jobs to do throughout the time we were there and didn't get time to use it.

This was a lovely house to stay in. Although an evening meal wasn't expected by us, the owner offered when we arrived in the early evening and it was a delicious home-cooked meal. There was even a small private car parking space. We didn't try the pool as we ran out of time, but the house was a little treasure trove of quirky items, tastefully decorated and arranged.

No lock on the room door, but if that's the only issue, it wasn't a real problem.

We were delighted to discover that we had an amazing suite of rooms in a beautiful but delightfully quirky B&B. We joined the other four guests for an evening meal along with six others around a large table and enjoyed both a delicious meal and an excellent evening with wonderful company. This is the loveliest, most quirky but delightful B&B we have ever stayed at.

Lovely friendly hostess, great tasting breakfast, original decor mix of antiques, original art and quirky pieces. Great ambiance, easy to get to from motorway, and to Nourlac Abbey.

I couldn't get wifi to my room, although it worked in the main rooms of the chambre d'hote. This didn't worry me too much, so I didn't ask the owner if it could be sorted.

Quirky, esoteric- hard to know where to start! Lovely large comfortable room, an indoor pool, good breakfast, offer of table d’hote dinner ( which we accepted). House absolutely bursting with antiques, paintings, books etc.

Parking difficult ( largely due to local road works/restrictions) Would not suit everyone, but we loved it!

The location would be difficult to find without a smart phone or other mapping device. Breakfast was simple but good.They shared their evening meal with me which was excellent and great value for 20euros The property is very old and very interestingly furnished,but with a modern indoor swimming pool with highly decorated surrounds!

My French for communication !

The house was very handy for the autoroute. We were passing through on our way back to the ferry at Caen. We parked the car inside the property's garden. We had a lovely big room with a 'salon' area. Very comfortable. The hosts offered us a cup of tea in the garden on our arrival, where we met the family dog, cat and the chickens. We declined the kind offer of an evening meal as we had eaten earlier.

The owner was extremely friendly and welcoming. It is a very spacious and well-maintained property that is both easy to drive to and park at, while being just a short walk from the centre of town. There is a restaurant that serves a good dinner just around the corner, called La Rotonde.

Lovely town, an excellent place to stop enroute to the South. The entrance belied the wonderful home within. Indoor pool open to the blue skies. We enjoyed an excellent home cooked meal €40 for two. I wasn't able to partake of the pasta dish, but this was made up for by the other wonderful dishes on offer.

Sadly although I had given advance notice of my gluten intolerance, our hostess was surprised when I reminded her of this fact. Being woken by Alfred I, named after the 1st king of Belgium, crowing from 5am! Breakfast was quite uninspiring.

Hoste was very friendly and welcoming. Great homely atmosphere

Travelled with our dog and had to keep her in the room because of chickens in the garden and the hosts big dog,our dog didn't like either.
