Eric our host is exceptional! truly a person who loves what he does and cares greatly for the pilgrims. The location is perfect - down town SJPP right up the street from the church for the Pilgrims Mass. very clean, lots of space to relax, large outdoor area, plenty of bathrooms/showers.

This is an albergue, so we are sharing rooms, but it was spacious and comfortable. The shower was warm and the beds were comfortable. The host spoke multiple languages fluently and was very helpful, and the albergue is located right on the Camino.

No real complaints, but keep in mind. This is an older building. You’re going to have some of the features of an older building, but most of the people who stay there are walking Camino and it’s a good way to start your journey. I recommend this place to all peregrinos.

Perfect location, central to restaurants, the pilgrims’ office, and the start of the Camino!

Automatic lights in the hallway turn on every time someone goes into the hallway at night, causing everyone to wake up. It’s unavoidable if someone is going to the bathroom, or getting ready for bed earlier/later.

We had a one bunk bed section to ourselves. The kitchen is great. The owner gave us some words of wisdom when we arrived. The location is great.

WiFi is really only good in the shared dining space. Some places does not work at all.

Our host was charming and encouraging as we prepared to walk the Camino De Santiago.

Nothing. Just know that it’s two bunk beds in each room and there isn’t a lot of room to spread out.

This hostel is an excellent place to start the camino but also the host is an incredible man, very wise. He gives great advice to all who start a camino. Thank you greatly

Chemin vers L’Etoile is the quintessential alberge: run by prople who care, with exactly the facilities that pilgrims need. In fact there are more bathroom facilities (showers, wash basins, potties, hand laundry! than I had any expectation of finding. Eric is a hoot and clearly loves his pilgrims and the life he is able to live. Wonderful sharp wit, too! Eric’s spiel (well-rehearsed) about the auberge and “You better eat breakfast and have something in your stomach before you tackle the way are particularly welcome and enjoyed!

Need more bananas at breakfast! The potassium and other nutrients and calming effect of bananas means every pilgrim should have at least one before heading out.

Eric is a genial host and the facilities were good.

As the first night for many I’d prefer that more explanation was made of the etiquette of albergue stay, eh quiet time and wearing loud boots in the sleeping area and about being quiet when packing up early.

The host was so very nice and welcoming :-) perfect start of my camino. There is a kitchen to use, place to wash and hang clothes, really everything a pilgrim might need. The breakfast was very good (eggs :-))

It was very hot in the room during the night (it was 34°C during the day), maybe some fen would do.
