Piers was attentive and charming helping us with dinner reservations...even one for Colombe d'Or and helped with getting the TV to broadcast English. He was always available but never intrusive. Bruno served breakfast (including eggs) cheerfully and came in early every day to accommodate our schedules. The suite and personal balcony were huge and helped us feel at home for the 6 days of our visit and the view and property were beautiful. It was too cold for us to use the pool but it looked inviting. We also appreciated the ample parking and the walkable proximity to St Paul de Vence.

One critique which is true of many French bathrooms is that the lighting over the sinks is very dim making shaving, putting on contacts or doing makeup difficult. The bed was comfortable but I had trouble adjusting to the somewhat rigid pillows.

Vicki, our host, was exceptional. She was communicative and provided information about amenities at the property, as well as recommendations for St Paul de Vence. The view from our room and the terrace was stunning. It’s such a beautiful location it’s calming to just sit outside and enjoy a glass of wine. Breakfast had choices of hot beverages, several juices, meats and cheeses, breads and pastries, yogurt, and eggs cooked to order. The evening wine gave us a chance to meet other guests.

That my stay wasn’t longer!

Villa St Maxime is a beautiful villa on the edge of the pretty hilltop village of St Paul de Vence, so the location was fantastic. Easy walking distance to the village, Foundation Maeght and Colombe D'or. The pool and gardens were lovely although due to unusually bad weather, was unable to use either. The drinks with the owners at 7, is a lovely idea and I enjoyed meeting the owner, Anne and the other guests. She was charming and the team were attentive at all times.

I loved everything although my room could probably do with being updated to a more modern style. However, everything was pretty perfect.

Amazing villa, great view from the balcony. Very helpful and friendly staff. S Saint-Paul-de-Vence is a wonderful place we want to return and Villa Maxime was a very attractive and comfortable place to stay. Highly recommended.

We didn't have enough sockets in the room and it took a long time to drain the tap water to get it hot. But these are minor things and they didn't spoil the overall wonderful impression.

Villa St Maxime fits perfectly the definition of quiet luxury. Ann has been the perfect host for us, such a welcoming, friendly but discreet person. Staying in Villa St Maxime felt more like being at a friend's home than a hotel. All interiors have beautiful touches and the whole building is full of light. The apéritif was appreciated and the buffet breakfast mouthwatering. Will definitely come back for the next exhibition at Fondation Maeght, which is at walking distance (but hillside!).

The suite was spacious and extremely comfortable; our hosts there were gracious and helpful. The evening drink offered allowed us to meet and talk. The location close to St-Paul-de-Vence was convenient. It was an excellent choice.

There was nothing to complain about. Villa St Maxime is a lovely spot. The lack of restaurants in St-Paul at this time of year and the partial closure or the 'fondation' were a pity but a separate matter!

Great location. Ann and Pierce are fantastic hosts, full of wonderful stories about the place . A special word for Bruno, always ready to help. A pleasure to have complimentary drinks on the terrace. Strongly recommend the place.

Scenic views from the hotel. It is possibly best view of the medieval town of St Paul de Vence and incredible views of the green hills of the region. Villa is very interesting architecturally and is done in a modernist style. The owner is absolutely the most welcoming and warmest hostess, you will be surrounded by best staff.

There is obviously no better place to stay in St Paul de Vence than Villa St. Maxime. Terrific view over the garden, the pool and the sea. The owners are very friendly and helpful. We wish to come back again sometimes.

A beautiful setting with panoramic views from the terrace. Ann and staff were welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was terrific and the proximity to Saint-Paul-de-Vence - with its medieval core - ideal.

One very small but important thing: plugs were hard to access for charging devices.
